Name: Tensei Amaya Ren (“Night Rain”, “Water Lily”)
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Rank: ANBU Squad Leader
Blood Type: A
Chakra Affinity: Water
Musical Specialty: Piano
Non-Musical Specialty: Poetry
Other Info of Note: She goes by “Ren” to all but a select few, while the name Amaya is reserved for very close friends and family, or formal occasions. She also suffers from a disorder known as Dysautonomia, which affects the nervous system. In Ren's case this causes hypotension (aka low blood pressure), dizziness, etc.
Appearance: Amaya Ren stands at about 5'6”, her slender shape only weighing a little over 120 lbs (more on this later). Her skin is fair, though slightly paler than her Tensei relatives, while pale grayish-lavender eyes peer mysteriously from a face framed by dark mahogany hair that falls to her middle back. Prolonged stress due to illness and the involved medical treatment have left dark circles around her eyes, while her face isn't quite as full as it once was.
Personality: Quiet and introspective from the start, Ren has never been much of a “people person”. Choosing instead to remain truly close with only a few people, she remains somewhat of an outsider to the rest of the world. She's a total bookworm with a particular love of poetry – she even writes her own, but good luck getting her to show it to you. Her solitary, “lone wolf” personality also means that she has little patience when dealing with other people, especially when large groups are involved (she does enjoy “people watching”, though). While she does go out among other people, she usually reserves those occasions for going out with her teammates, some of the only people around which she is completely comfortable. This, however, has little effect on her performance as a shinobi – she knows what she has to do during a mission, and will do what she must to get the job done.
Likes: Peace and quiet, poetry, people-watching, rainy or foggy days
Dislikes: Bright lights, excessive noise, idiots
History: As is the case for all Tensei, Ren was immersed in the fine arts almost from the moment of her birth. She was trained in music – taking Piano as her instrument of choice – culture, literature, and Tensei Clan jutsu throughout her childhood. In the Academy her grades were high for the most part, but her emotional health suffered as she had no friends and made no effort to make any – until, that is, she met Kuroyuri Asano and Kibikibi Zyubirii. The three bonded almost instantly, creating a formidable trio that would carry on throughout their Academy careers and into their formation of a Genin team. After a few years as Chuunin, the three decided to take the next step together as well, and enlisted into ANBU, forming one of the craziest squads in all of Konoha.
During the beginning of the War, however, an injury sustained in battle would forever change Ren's life. When an assassination mission turned into open combat, Ren was thrown violently to the ground, causing trauma to her head and neck. While the result wasn't paralyzing, it did cause her to develop the Dysautonomia she has today. During the return home, and her hospital stay in Konoha, she began exhibiting such symptoms as dizziness, hypotension, and even fainting spells. Months of treatment and misdiagnosis made no improvement, until she was finally diagnosed with Dysautonomia by her own relative, Tensei Kaori. With such treamtents as a high-sodium diet, increased water intake, exercise, and medication, Ren has been able to regain nearly all of her previous lifestyle, though her team hasn't been assigned many heavy-combat missions since.
