Alrighty then,
now, I'm a bit embarresed to say that one of my guiltier pleasures is playing paper and dice roleplaying games.
Back in junior high, I remember seeing a few kids playing D&D during their lunch breaks. I was curious, so I decided to sit in on a session.
Now, I find that I love to play these games. While D&D isn't quite my bag, I do enjoy playing simpler games such as BESM and the Tri-Stat system.
Anybody else here interested in tabletop or paper & dice RPGs? Or does the geek stand alone?

I've always wanted to try it, but because of my parents I've never been able to. I come from a really religious background, and for some reason there's that whole "D&D/RPGs are evil" and such. So... I was just never really given the opportunity.
My boyfriend used to play a lot of D&D before he had to move, and I'm sure he would still play if he found someone to play with. He played for like four years and he really liked it. It sounds like a lot of fun... *weep*
Before I moved to Texas, I was going to try starting a D&D group despite my parents' wishes, but I couldn't get enough people interested. *depression squiggles* Oh well.

Wohoo!! Guilty pleasures unite! My high school actually has a D&D club! I just started playing this year when my friend told me I should come. I honestly find it incredibly fun and amazingly addicting! Sort of like the Interactive Fan-Fic (which is kinda creepy cuz me and my friend are trying to create a working Naruto RPG)
Most of the people in the club are also into anime, whether or not they're into it, or just like watching an occasional episode its still really fun. Just glad I found this so I could tell you you are [glow=red,2,300]NOT ALONE!!!![/glow] *strikes one of his various nerdy poses* And a gigantic Bah! No need to be embarassed either!
^-^

RPGs can be fun given the right crowd.
I've been comendeered into hosting a little D&D game for my friends recentely.
It's not bad.
Just a little trying because none of them have ever played before.

I'm trying to make a paper and dice version of Resident Evil.
It'll probably run on either a d6 or a d10 system.
d20 is too complicated for someting like Resident Evil

And we wait patiently for Jun to actually hook up his old computer to work on Lands of Rising, where he had created a ninja class and also a battle system based on a naruto style fighting game.... knowing me, it would take a miricle to get me to hook up that comp... actually I'd like to use it as a sparde HD... dedicated to memory only... so that my comp has an unpartitioned drive to run at maximum efficiency...
If i ever get around to it, I'll pull out my rules on notepad... I liked my battle system, it gave you unique advantages in different phases of the combat based on your stat allocation and your growth is not a set pattern, but it is based on one...

hmmmm... I like the sound of that!!
As of right now, me and three others are currently hard at work (by which I mean we are lazily getting some work done) on a Naruto campaign setting for D&D. It is going to be a modified D20. We are currently working on the Chakra system, and the map. The storyline is set in the future, somewhere around that of the IF, so some of the IF characters may make cameo's in this campaign once its finished!!

My friend used D&D and a bad gm to make a monk who could move at sonic speed and uhmm turn into an earth elemental. I handled a psychotic sorcerer.... with a mind of a genius. My clerics were stupid tho, everytime I used one, it ended up in a mass death of teh party....

Now, I know I could go on en.wikipedia.org and it would tell me... but that just ruins the fun of conquering your otherwise well-spent time writing post to me. Besides, I get an extra post out of this. *hears a fourth wall breaking down* Lol. Anyways. D20. Ya-wha? At the moment I'm playing Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic... it's a Star Wars RPG for X-Box (and PC)... and it's got something to do with D20. I SEE IT. When I first saw it, I thought "That sounds like D&D or something". I come to this thread, and lo and behold... Kiel runs into Kiri! YAY!... I think. This is where I ask one of two questions. Can y'all explain it? Or are there WAY too many rules for y'all to be bothered with and should I run off to another website, or dare I say... the KOTOR MANUAL!?!? (which I won't read. Darned chance of seeing spoilers. Gar. >__O) Anyone feel like writing anything about it? Please? FOR THE SAKE OF THE JEDI MAN!!!! *post count goes up. Fourth wall crashes. Again.*
