hmmm oh! my main reason for buying DDR:
Moving arrows and flashing purdy lights
No lie...
That is my main reason lol XP plus, the music is really awesome and you get a good cardiovascular, or however you spell it, work out. It's a great time killer and it can keep you busy/inshape over the summer ^^ it really is worth buying, I'm really glad I did. Another good reason, it's awesome at parties! My friends aren't as obsessed with it as I am but they love trying it out whenever I throw a party. One of them will just be like "BRING ME THE DANCING GAME SLAVE!" and I'm all like "ok". But yeah, all in all, it's an awesome game and I lurve it ^-^

NEW GAME!
Name your favorite DDR songs, both 1) Musically and 2) Choreographically. The lists can be separate or share songs. I'll go when I can actually think.

Choreographically: Sakura, V, Jet World. I also like Have You Never Been Mellow (sure it's easy, but you can spin like, HALF the song! XD) and A (thanks to Kaori ... I play 2x Flat 'cozza you! XD). All on Heavy (of course). Music: The Legend of Max, MAXX Unlimited LOL... oh, and Gamelan de Couple. CACTUS!!! But I like the music of the Maxes. Just the way they have you going hard... and then stop halfway through. And then they surprise you with more death, right before the final death-run 20 seconds. XD

Music of the Maxxes! Lol. Now for mine:
Musically and choreographically: A (heavy), Rhythm and Police (heavy) Musically: I Do I Do I Do (never actually played, just listened), V (heavy) Choreographically: Bag (heavy), even though I have to put it on x5 to read the arrows. XD
I'd be able to think of more but I haven't played DDR in some time.... ^^;

Alright. Question time. Who thinks that constantly holding onto the bar behind the pad is cheating?

Yeah, Bag (Heavy) is cool. I have to agree. Although... yeah, I have to play it with speed mods. Aieee. XD
And, uh, sorry. But I hate I Do I Do I Do as a song. It's evil and scary. XD
About holding the bar... it depends. I use the bar sometimes, but not all the time (unless I'm feeling really tired, which usually comes halfway through doing Legend of Max XD). I also use it for difficult jumps (like the jump steps in Maxx Unlimited (Standard), which are too fast for me to be able to handle without the bar). I think using the bar is okay... but I see some girls who basically sit on the bar the whole song, as if it were a seat. I get relatively disgusted by that. XD
But then it's all relative to the difficulty of the song. If it's a relatively hard song or fast song with lots of steps... it doesn't look too bad holding the bar still. It's just when there are plainly basic songs and they hog the bar. Not cool.

Well, I'll have to agree with Maz on the whole bar thing. I sometimes have to hold onto it myself so I can get used to switching from a soft pad with raised buttons to a metal pad..which is the complete opposite (the metal plates are raised..not the buttons...it get's very confoosing >.<)

Oh yeah. Can't say I've ever played or seen the game with a soft pad with raised buttons...but it sounds somewhat better than the other one. Which do you think is best?

Sometimes I have to, like the first time I played Da Roots on Expert with bare feet (ITG, but it was a DDR cabinet so yeah). There's no way I woulda passed that baby without the bar. XP It's also good for balance when using your hands in ITG.

Then you see ppl playing Butterfly on Beginner's Mode and putting ALL their weight on the bar. That's just like.... argh. At least TRY to not use it.
It's times like those when the ppl at Gameland bust out the rubber chicken. XD
