The sharp metallic click of a lock being turned, the jingling of bells as the front door opened at last, and a celebratory cheer from the crowd near the front were the telltale signs: the door had been opened, and the show would start soon! As the two teenage children of the Cafe's current proprietor, Tensei Misato, made sure everyone got in all right, the first few guests finally managed to press their way inside. Upon entering, they would first go up the front steps into a small foyer, with little more than a guestbook and two doorways: one on the left, one on the right. The left-hand door was the destination of choice for most, leading into the main part of the cafe. It opened onto the rear portion of the huge room: to the left, along the back wall, there was a bar area where nonalcoholic beverages, various snacks and - when available - merchandise were available for purchase as advertised by the brightly colored signs and menus; to the right, at the far end of the room, the enormous stage was visible. Currently, the red curtains were closed, with a projector shining the Kaomoji Cafe's logo onto their rich surface. The floor descended in wide tiers from the bar area down to the lowest part of the venue: the space right in front of the stage, which today would act as a mosh pit. On the other tiers there were small tables surrounded by groups of three or four chairs each, and a few ragged old couches in the back provided a more comfortable place to rest for those who inevitably would overdo things in the mosh pit. The lighting was low in the dark-painted room, but not so low as to hinder visibility. And as the first guests flooded in, the place immediately took on the excited feel of a performance venue about to come to life. Zyu was interrupted from answering by a sudden hullabaloo up front. "Oh, looks like it's time to go in," she said instead. "C'mon, short stuff, try not to get run over on the way in. This crowd can get a little nuts at times. And as for what I am... well," she said with a wink, "you'll just have to find out for yourself."

" Who're you callin' 'short stuff', Beanpole?" Ichi grinned. Her words obviously weren't meant to be more than friendly taunting, so returning in kind was only fair. " S'no way I'M gonna get trampled, though, so ya better just worry about yourself!" He winked in punctuation to his own retort, begining to weave forward through the crowd towards the entrance. "Ahh, thank you my dear. Well.." Ryuu paused as there was a brief cheer from the front. "My, weren't you just spot on?" Chuckling musically and offering a smile, he bowed slightly to the young woman. "Do enjoy the show, hm?" With that, he turned to drift back towards Hotaka and the others.

It took Nadameru a moment to realize that someone was speaking to her; too long for Hoshiko, it seemed, as the other woman had already made a reply to the man's question. The jounin simply looked at him for a moment, taking in his silky black hair, ice-blue eyes, and delicate features. He was certainly handsome, but the woman couldn't help initially feeling a bit of revulsion. No doubt he was used to having girls fawn over him. Arrogance. Ugh. Nada despised it. Still, propriety requested that she show him the proper attention. Nodding politely as he excused himself from the group, the kunoichi simply shook her head. Still, she had other things to think about aside from some self-absorbed prettyboy. Finally, the crowd was starting to file inside. It was going to be a great night! Hotaka watched as his friend excused himself, supposedly to inquire as to when the concert would be starting. He couldn't help noticing, however, that Ryuurei was making a beeline toward a blond girl dressed all in black. Wait a minute, he thought, suddenly thinking that girl looked familiar. She definitely had the Homura appearance. Could it be? Oh man, he groaned inwardly, a sympathetic grin crossing his face. If he was not mistaken, that girl was Homura Nadameru, former genin to the current hokage. He'd heard things about that girl. Not particularly bad things, just enough that his friend was about to be in for some rude disappointment. The chuunin was momentarily distracted from his friend's actions when the front door was opened, and he couldn't help joining in with the cheers. Finally! He was ready for a night of Tensei-brand fun. Spotting Ryuurei drifting back toward the group, Hotaka smirked. "You look confused," he commented over the noisy crowd, resting a hand on his former teammate's shoulder. "I know it's hard to believe that you could be rejected, but don't worry. You'll get through it." As much as he tried, Taka couldn't keep the twinkle from entering his eyes, nor the mischievous grin from his face.

"Frankly, my dear Twinkletoes, I don't know what you're talking about." Ryuurei replied, draping an arm around his friend's neck. Truth be told, he had been rather surprised to go completely unnoticed by someone, especially female, but that only made it all the more refreshing. He was well aware of how physically appealing he was to most members of the opposing gender, as well as the effect he could have on them. And frankly, he was tired of it. It had served use during missions here and there, and had been entertaining to play up the role when he was younger, but there WAS a brain behind that pretty face, intelligent and talented. Ryuurei was weary of it going unnoticed in favor of his hair, or eyes, or both. This woman who could completely ignore that...He was intrigued. "Well, shall we head inside?"

"Beanpole? Beanpole?" Zyu snorted disbelievingly. What was that kid talking about? He wished he had the kind of curves she--- wait. No. No, come to think of it, he probably didn't wish that, after all. But plenty of women did, she was sure. Of course. "Heh. Cute," she told her new companion before beginning to slip into the crowd. "See you inside," she said over her shoulder before slipping away entirely. With her ANBU experience, it was easy enough to slip away even through a crowd of that magnitude, even if it was a crowd full of Shinobi. A few people griped at being cut in front of, but she paid them no mind. In no time she was inside, and caught sight of someone she'd been hoping to find: one of her Tensei ANBU comrades; he, like she herself, was hiding his ANBU status and instead seemed to be acting as some sort of Bouncer. Perfect. Zyu brushed by him almost casually, pausing to lay an arm on his shoulder and speaking as though offering a greeting in passing. "There's a kid here who's a stranger to the village. Bright red and orange hair with behavior to match. You can't miss him. Watch him close, and give me a report on his actions here by tomorrow." Her comrade nodded; there was no need to act if there was anything suspicious - there was obviously a reason Zyu was asking for such a report. A quick look around made Zyu grin. A lot of the Tensei working the cafe tonight were good shinobi in their own rights; if anything did happen, it would be stamped out before it got out of hand. Again, perfect. "Enjoy the show," she told her comrade with a grin. The man returned the sentiment, gave Zyu a friendly tap on the shoulder, and they went their separate ways. Just a friendly exchange of words between shinobi, and no one except those who needed to would know it had been anything else. With that done, though she was still on alert, Zyu was free to find a seat from which to enjoy the show. This... was going to be good. "Yes, let's," Izumi agreed, grabbing Tatsuya by his sleeve to haul him along. He seemed to be trying to find a good chance to slip an arm around Shinako's shoulder, and failing miserably. Whether it was pure chance that Shinako kept moving out of the way or whether her teammate was doing it on purpose, Izumi couldn't tell. The Tensei were surprisingly adept at certain things. Indeed, if anything were happening besides Tatsuya having simple bad luck, Shinako definitely didn't show any indication, gliding along as she was, voicing agreement as she flipped shimmering brown hair over her shoulder. It was enough to make Izumi believe nothing more had happened, after all. Well, almost. Either way, they needed to get inside before there were no more good seats left.

Despite his protests at her 'Short stuff' monikering, the stature of Utsuro's body was quite well suited for nimbly navigating through the crowds. Not that Ichi was particularly concerned with being nimble. If he bumped shoulders with someone, it was their problem, not his. If they wanted to start something, however.. ...Ichi-sama...Please...don't cause trouble...Pff..I've got it, squirt.Entering the building, he was rather surprised. Fairly intricate setup, it seemed. " Man..These Tensei people must really like their music.."

Hoshiko sighed, frustrated, as she entered the cafe. Somehow she'd managed to get separated from Kohana-chan and the others, and was left to wander around on her own in search of a good spot. She ran fingers through purple-tipped white hair as she scanned the building crowd, her earrings swaying and other various accessories shifting and swaying with every movement. The large, golden lightning bolt pendant suspended from her choker caught the dim light every now and then, creating a dull, yet faintly gleaming flash every now and then when she turned a certain way. It was a surprise when she caught someone near her saying, "Man..These Tensei people must really like their music," as though he had never even heard of the Tensei before. Definitely an outsider, then. Hoshiko was vaguely surprised that he'd gotten into the event at all, but then, she'd seen a couple other outsiders attend public events before. Still, it was pretty rare. And none of them had looked like that, Hoshiko observed when she got a chance to inspect the source of the comment. She noted with some amusement that a few others who had heard the remark were staring with raised eyebrows as though he had voiced ignorance to the fact that fish liked to swim, or birds to fly. They left off soon enough, though, eager to find their places and not wanting to waste time staring at an outsider when there were all sorts of outsiders present in the village due to the reconstruction. "You could say that," she said, coming to stand by the kid but not actually looking at him. Instead, she let her gaze wander across the cafe. "Then again, you might also say that people like to breathe or that hearts like to beat. To the Tensei, music isn't what they do: it's what they are." It was only then that she turned her violet gaze on the boy next to her. "You must be new here if you don't know that. I've learned from experience that even some foreigners know at least that much."

Looking over at the young woman as she spoke, Ichi smirked. " S'that so? Well, I've been travelling alot, so I'm not exactly up to date on my Who's Who. " He retorted to her remarks, clasping his hands behind his head and stretching a bit. Village of Konoha. Chief Exports: Mulch and babes. Ichi-sama, that's not nice..." But hey. To each their own, right?"

"You could say that," Hoshiko replied with a shrug, setting her multitude of accessories to gleaming again, "but you don't often see so many people take to 'their own' en masse like the Tensei do. It might seem weird to some people, but it sure pays off for them. And," she added with a violet-eyed wink, "sometimes non-Tensei like us get to reap the benefits, too."

With a whispy sigh, Ryuu took in the surroundings with a pleased smile. While far from his chosen medium of expression, this place was still a haven for the fine arts, and as such generated a feeling of 'home' within him. It had been easy enough to breeze through the milling crowds and secure an optimal place to be, both accoustically and asthetically. Settling in alongside his companions, he'd just have to wait for the show to begin, and perhaps see who else was attending. " True, true. Fairly hospitable lot, seems like." Ichi nodded alongside his agreement. " Kinda interesting, too. I've seen a lot of different shinobi on the road..nobody as into music as you're implying though." He couldn't help wondering just what one could do with music that would make it a viable basis for an entire..and seemingly large..shinobi clan. " Good for them, though."

"And good for the rest of us, too," Hoshiko added with a wink. "Konoha's a pretty fun place, but there's nothing like local bands to really set off an evening." ((OoC: I apologize for the one-liner! Just trying to keep the thread moving along. ^^;))

" Yeah, can't say I disagree with ya there. On either account." The odd stranger stated with a smirk, rolling his shoulders back and popping the joints quietly. " We'll see how good of an evening they set off though." Ichi-sama..please..Pipe down, pipsqueak, this could be fun...but that's not fun...

"Think it's about time?" Hideko asked from her spot on stage, flipping her long brown hair over her shoulder. Dramatic black and silver eye makeup emphasized her Tensei eyes. "Yeah! Yeah!" Eiji agreed with a nod, snugging the fingerless gloves, black trimmed with white, he had donned for their performance. "Might as well do it," Daichi put in, checking one last time that his mic was on. "It's that time."Moving as one, the Tensei Triplets - dressed in different but coordinating performance outfits of black tops trimmed with white and khaki pants - flowed from their waiting places to the pose they had decided on. The dull roar of a milling crowd drifted through the red velvet curtain, getting all three pumped for a great show. Eiji looked at Hideko. Hideko looked at Daichi. Daichi looked back at Eiji. The three nodded, faces split in identical grins. "Hit it, guys!" they said in unison to the stage crew. The milling conversation from the crowd stopped, a clear sign that the house lights had dimmed to where they would remain for the show. Some people cheered, while others just waited expectantly. Lights came on onstage, backlighting the trio with their cool white glow and silhouetting them in a halo of light to the crowd's eyes. The music started even before the curtain open, a simple rhythmic hand-clapping accompanied by Hideko's wordless melody. And then the bass rhythm kicked in. It was only then that the curtain whooshed open, revealing the three backlit siblings, still holding their pose. Eiji joined in on the accompaniment too this time, though the three still didn't move. Then the song started in full, and the real show started. The stage lights came on, Eiji and Daichi launched into alternating lines of the main rap, while Hideko took her turns in the more melodic parts of the song. As soon as the song came to life the three broke apart, alternating between more simple movements and Hideko's dynamic, fast-paced choreography. It was a simple song in and of itself, but designed to get people pumped up. That's what opening numbers were for, of course. It worked beautifully, from what the three could tell onstage. A few people could be heard clapping along to the rhythmic pattern that had kept up through the entire song, and though it was hard to tell because of the blinding stage lights, it appeared that a few people had decided to get an early start on the mosh pit. Then the song came to an end, the three ending up once more in a dynamic pose, though one that was different from the one from which they had started the show. They held that pose for a couple seconds as the crowd's cheers began, then broke apart to wait for things to quiet down a little.

The curtains parted, music weaving through the air, simple at first. It's.... Ichiyuumaihi laughed. For such a huge village, they sure were running into the same people repeatedly. I'm sure they're good..Pff. We'll see. You and I have different tastes, kid....The performance proceeded, and not surprising, it was quite enjoyable. Not that the Tsutomegi boy had a chance to fully appreciate the performance. " Now that's more like it!" Ichi grinned, spotting the budding pit. A bit premature, given the style of music, but he certainly wasn't one to judge or complain. Weaving his way through the throng of people, he pushed into the midst of the moshers and began to give them hell. Don't hurt anyone...Relax, kid! This is FUN!He laughed, shoving a nameless face out of his way.
