Kaori stood patiently as Kiyoshi's speach continued. "My family from Hidden Leaf, it is my sincere hope that you find the hospitality here in Hidden Sand to be to your liking. I believe Hokage-sama's messengers are being sent with your rooming assignments. Shinobi from Hidden Sand will be available to guide you to your rooms. I believe you'll find a special message in your rooms, as well. That is all!"As soon as he finished, Kaori gave a small signal to Akina, who nodded and set off to find her team. It was only then that she glided forward to meet her old friend. Bowing low, she spoke with the most formal of language. "I thank you kindly for your warm welcome, Kazekage-sama. I hope that this visit will be beneficial to both our villages." He bowed low as well in reply, understanding that in this situation, greeting one another as old friends would be highly improper. "I hope so as well, Hokage-sama," he said in words just as formal as hers. "Please enjoy your stay here. Now!" he added, in more conversational - yet still businesslike - tones. "Allow me to introduce you...."* * * * * As Kaori-sama greeted the Kazekage and was introduced to his highest officials, Akina had other work to do. Spotting her team, she headed over to them. "Auntie Akina!" was the first thing she heard. Rolling her eyes, she quickened her pace until she was standing with her old team. "Do try to act a little more respectful, Tatsuya," she told her rambunctious nephew. "Remember, I'm the Hokage's Liutenant, and everyone here will see that before anything else." "Right, sorry..." he stopped here, correcting himself. "I mean, please excuse me, Akina-oba." Nodding, Akina continued. "You all know what to do, right?" When everyone replied in the affirmative, she handed each of them a rather fat and tightly bound folder from the stack she had been carrying. "I other duties to tend to now," she told them. "Dismissed!" She could sense them scatter among the caravan as she turned to return to Kaori-sama's side. There was much to do. * * * * * Akihara Izumi headed to the very rear of the caravan, calling out the names of everyone on the list she had been given. Eventually she heard a positive reply, and summoned the owner of the name over to her. Looking on her list, she saw that it was.... * * * * * Tatsuya headed to his zone of the caravan, calling out names. No one replied, and eventually he reached the end of his list and started again. "Yanagawa Kohana! Uhh... let's see... Adarakis no Mazrakiel!" * * * * * Shinako paused before heading out. "Hyuuga Masato-san, right?" she asked, opening her folder and digging through it. Eventually she found the small envelope with his name on it. Pulling it out, she handed it to Masato-san with a smile. "Inside you'll find the names of your roomates, and directions to the inn where you'll be staying. Any questions?"

Kohana stood patiently and paid close attention as the Kazekage finished delivering his speech.
My family from Hidden Leaf, it is my sincere hope that you find the hospitality here in Hidden Sand to be to your liking. I believe Hokage-sama's messengers are being sent with your rooming assignments. Shinobi from Hidden Sand will be available to guide you to your rooms. I believe you'll find a special message in your rooms, as well. That is all!
Kohana grinned widely, glancing around to see if she could catch sight of who was handing out the rooming assignments. "I wonder who I'll get roomed with!?" she said to herself, bubbling over with excitement. She was so busy thinking about who her roomies might be that she nearly missed her name being called.
Yanagawa Kohana!. . . Adarakis no Mazrakiel!
"Oh! Oh! Oooooh! That's me!" she squeaked as she skipped over to the red-headed young man who had just called out her name. "I'm Yanagawa Kohana!"

Tatsuya grinned widely when he saw her. "Ahhh, Yanagawa-saaaaaaaan!" he chimed brightly. "How lucky! You're the first one to get your assignment!" He hummed softly to himself as he rummaged in the fat folder, eventually pulling out a small white envelope and holding it high in the air. "Ta-daaaaaaaah!" he exclaimed triumphantly. "Yanagawa Kohana-san! See? It says right there on the front!" he explained as he held the envelope up for her to see. Flashing a winning grin, he presented it to her with a flourish. "For you, miss. I'm sure you'll find everything you need in here."

With a stomp, Kohana landed firmly in front of the stunning young man, who in return flashed a wide grin at her.
Ahhh, Yanagawa-saaaaaaaan! How lucky! You're the first one to get your assignment!
Kohana smiled brightly as she watched him search through the rather large file he held in his hands. Soon enough, he pulled from it, a nice white envelope and held it up in the air.
Ta-daaaaaaaah! Yanagawa Kohana-san! See? It says right there on the front! he said, holding the newly found envelope up for her to read. He then continued, another pleasant grin spreading across his face. For you, miss. I'm sure you'll find everything you need in here.
Kohana skipped once, then looked at him, a bright, toothy grin on her face. "Yay!" she squealed, looking with child-like wonder at the envelope in her hands. "Thank you very much! I shall go find my room right now! Buh-byeee!" And with that, she skipped back to her teammate.
"I'll see you later, Mazzykins! I'm going to go find my room now. And meet my ROOMIES! YAY!" She jumped at him, giving him a tight squeeze. "Bye!" And then, she ran off to find her living quaters.

"Awww," Tatsuya mourned. "I didn't even get to tell her my name...." Suddenly something clicked. The young man she had been walking with.... "You there!" he called with a wave and a smile. "Mazzykins, is it?" he asked, grinning. "Would your proper name happen to be Adarakis no Mazrakiel?"

Adarakis no Mazrakiel!"Maz looked around for who was calling their name; he was right behind Kohana, who had seemingly noticed who it was. The two approached the red-haired man, who seemed to be handing out envelopes. She got hers first; the young man could't hear Mazrakiel acknowledging his presence over her highly enthusiastic personality. And probably the fact that she was a girl too. It was only when he heard him murmur something like "I didn't even get to tell her my name..." afterwards that Maz realised: Yep. Full on charmer.Kohana jumped up and hugged Maz, before darting off to find her living quarters. She even called him Mazzykins. He hadn't heard much of that name; only usually from her. It didn't bother him, really. Usually when a girl called him that, it was cute. When a guy called him that, it was a little weird, though; the only men who'd call him Mazzykins were either his closest friends, or that-way-inclined. "Would your proper name happen to be Adarakis no Mazrakiel?" "Yes sir, that's me. What can I do for ya?"

Tatsuya grinned. "She made that nickname up for you, didn't she?" he asked, then continued before Mazrakiel-san had time to respond. "Anyways, here's your rooming assignments." He handed the man his envelope - also with a slight flourish, but with nowhere near the elegance his earlier presentation to Yanagawa-san had - and held out his hand for a handshake. "The name's Tokoharu Tatsuya. Is there anything else you need before you find your room? There are directions inside the envelope."

Envelope in hand, he shuffled away and went off to read the contents of it.

Tatsuya cocked his head to the side, looking confused. "Ah well, I guess not everyone's that talkative...." And what did he mean by my looking familiar?
Ah, well. There were more envelopes to be delivered. He scratched the two names off his list and began calling out others.

Yanagawa Hoshiko was surprised when her name was called right away. Skipping over, she talked briefly to a quiet - yet pleasant enough, in her own way - kunoichi who gave her an envelope. Smiling as she thanked the younger Chuunin, she picked up her bags - all three of them - and began to skip along away from the caravan.
It was only then that she realized she had no idea where she was going.
Stopping in her tracks, the Chuunin tried to open the envelope and get at the directions inside, only to find out that she was so encumbered by her large black and purple bags that she had no way of actually opening the envelope.
It took Hoshiko a moment to situate herself before she could even look at the thing. Shifting, moving, switching arms, catching bags that slipped and fell - all while grumbling under her breath - she finally got to where she could carry her bags with one hand free to hold the directions. The paper fluttered in the soft breeze as she held it up.
"Let's see... the Crescent Moon inn is..... this way!" she announced, and took off. She was on her way.

Miyuki walked briskly over to the Chuunin who had just called out her name. He handed over her rooming assignment, and enthusiastically explained to her exactly what she would find inside the envelope. This chipper young lad seemed quite familiar to the white-haired kunoichi, and after a moment of examining his bright red hair and facial features, she concluded he must be related to the Hokage's assistant, Tokoharu Akina.
"Thank you very much," she said calmly with a slight smile. "See you around." She bowed her head to him before heading off towards the back of the caravan to get her things.
As she approached the cargo, she noticed a fiery-haired ANBU sitting atop one of the wooden wagons, shouting commands at a pair of young shinobi, who looked rather worn out and beaten. She recognized the man perched upon the wagon, and called out to him.
"Enjou Ryuji! What are you doing to these poor boys?"
Turning his attention to her, he jumped down and approached her. "Ah! Miyuki-san!" he said excitedly. "Are you here for your things?"
"Why, yes, I am. I see them right over there." She went to walk past Ryuji, but he stopped her. "No, it's ok. My helpers will get them for you!"
"What are you doing to them? They look horrible!"
Ryuji leaned in close to whisper to her. "They got into a bit of a scuffle earlier, so they're being punished......"
The two boys leaned against the side of the nearest wagon while their slavedriver was busy conversing with the beautiful white-haired Jounin that had just walked up.
"......Excuse me! I don't believe I gave you two little troublemakers permission to take a break. Get back to work!"
The boys exchanged horrified glances.
"He's not even looking this way!" one whispered.
"How can he---" the other one began.
"Stop the chit chat and bring me Yanagawa Miyuki-san's things!"
Without any hesitation, they hurried to grab Miyuki's luggage. They brought it over as fast as their legs could carry them while they were holding onto such heavy bags.
"H-here you go, Yanagawa-s-san!" the boys stuttered together.
"Why, thank you very much," she said in a low, sultry voice, leaning down to stare into their eyes with her haunting icy gaze.
"Y-y-you're welcome!" they replied.
"Ok, now get back to work!" Ryuji ordered, turning around and hurrying them off to continue their job. "There's tons more people that are going to be coming for their things. I suggest you get it together!"
"YESSIR!"
Ryuji turned back to Miyuki. "Well, I've got to get back to supervising them. I'll see you around!"
"See you, Ryuji-kun!" Miyuki picked up her bags and headed off to find the inn.

After the Kazekage's speech, everyone got down to business rather quickly. A team of 3 chuunin went around giving out room assignments, and Nada looked up as her name was finally called. Taking the envelope and receiving her instructions, she went to gather her things.
Once she had everything together, she set off. It would be nice to relax after the hectic goings-on of the trip.

Post by Sorien on May 5, 2007 21:34:14 GMT -5
Finding his way through the masses of people, Sorien had to admit to himself he was a little excited about actually being in the new village, with new people. It had been a long time since he had ventured somewhere new. He was finding it hard knowing what to do next. He hadn't actually been notified of what was meant to happen after the arrival. As a result of this, he slipped quietly through the crowds observing people.
Fortunately, during this drifting, he came across a man, red hair, green eyes. Much like Sorien himself, but taller. He was calling out names, and divvying out envelopes, which people would read, then run off to. Some of the names, sounded familiar to him, so he stuck around. "Yanagawa Kohana!". "Oh sonofa..." Sorien thought to himself, he'd missed his name, and now he'd have to wait for the next round of names.
He perched himself crossed legged on the corner of a nearby caravan, in the sun. Hearing many names he knew, including Maz's he decided to let them be, seeing as this was a rather important business and getting in the way for social chit-chat wasn't that appropriate, nor helpful. "Call my name. Sorien. Come on, please?" He asked no deity in particular.

Izumi paused, thinking she heard someone speaking to her. "Call my name. Sorien. Come on, please?" he was saying, she discovered, to the air around him. Not speaking to her at all. But it just so happened that she had overheard him, and looked down at her list. Sorien...Sorien... aha!
Wiping perspiration from her brow with a sleeve - it was quite easy to bow under the weight of the heat soaking into her chuunin uniform, dark jumpsuit and heavy flak jacket that absorbed the rays of the sun like some sort of heat magnet - she made her way over to the young man.
"You said Sorien, right?" she asked, shocking pink eyes gazing at him calmly. When she had confirmed his identity, she nodded. "You're on my list. Just a moment..."
Flicking a stray bit of pale blue hair out of her face, the young Chuunin at last found the correct envelope. Wondering why this Sorien only used one name but not saying anything, she handed it over. "Inside you'll find the names of your roomates as well as directions to the inn in which you'll be staying," she explained in her eternally calm voice. "The Sand ninja lurking about can give you guidance should the directions prove insufficient. Do you have any questions?"

Crossed legged, and twiddling his thumbs, Sorien sat watching the man with red hair reading out names, he failed to notice a young lady approaching him, until she spoke to him. "You said Sorien, right?" Sorien nodded. She checked something off before speaking again. "You're on my list. Just a moment..."
Catching a glimpse of her pink eyes, Sorien was momentarily dazed, the eyes had something about them that bore into him. He shook the notion off, and briefly ran his eyes over her. She was noticeably younger than him, yet, all garbed out in Chuunin gear, it was obvious she had experience, and authority. Although slightly jealous of this acheivement, he thought next to nothing of it, it was him of all people who recognised that often, the younger generation needed to be appreciated as well.
Pulling out a envelope, she handed it to Sorien. "Inside you'll find the names of your roomates as well as directions to the inn in which you'll be staying. The Sand ninja lurking about can give you guidance should the directions prove insufficient. Do you have any questions?" Sorien chuckled, not at her, but her choice of words. "Lurking about?" Sorien dared explained his reasons of humour, to the direct tone in which he had been told. Wiping the smile off his face, before she could respond, he posed a more serious question. "Will there be an itinerary for the events planned?"
