"There. You'll be happy enough to know we're done with all that, I'm sure," Akina told her young charge as they stepped out of the building and into the midmorning sunshine. "Just one more stop, and then I'll be on my way." The streets of Konoha, busy though they were, seemed a whole different world compared to the chaos of the Administration building. Oh, the village was busy, to be sure, but the crowded streets had a sort of flow to them, the masses of people moving to the unheard beat of village life. Here, Akina had no need to dodge haphazardly-running aides or force herself through masses of people. Despite her height - or lack thereof, as the case was - out here, people moved for her, giving her a clear path to her destination. It wasn't long before she veered off the main roads onto a side street filled with row after row of houses and apartment buildings. A quick glance at the paper packet told her which one she was looking for, and she set off towards it. It wasn't long before she found the staircase she needed - all these apartment buildings were pretty much the same, and for good reason - and was climbing it in no time, scaling the steps much faster than a short woman in high heels would seem capable of doing. At last they reached the third floor. "This way," Akina instructed simply, doing her best to open the little envelope she'd been given one-handedly. She succeeded just a moment before they reached a door marked "309". "Here, these are yours," she told Tsutomegi as she handed him the packet of papers she'd been referencing. The original file, of course, stayed in her hands. "They're the documents regarding your housing assignment, so don't lose them. You'll get your copies of the rest of it pretty soon. It would be a good idea to buy something secure in which to store everything, so you have it all together and know where it is." Whether it was a true indication or not, that bundle Tsutomegi carried with him spoke volumes about what his organizational skills - or lack thereof - might be. And few things irked Akina more than being so disorganized that one began to lose important documents. Long, slender fingers slipped into the envelope to pull out a key with a white paper tag attached by a metal ring. The tag, as Akina double checked just in case, bore no markings except the number 309 written in rather hasty penmanship. "And that," she explained as she handed him the envelope, "holds your extra key. You only get two, so don't lose those, either, or you'll have to call a locksmith. Oh, by the way," she added with a calm smile... "Welcome home." With one deft motion the redheaded kunoichi slid the key into the lock, turned it with a sharp metallic click, opened the door, and handed the key to the sparse but neatly furnished apartment to its new resident.

It was a thing of wonder, really, to watch the crowds part as they did wherever Akina-sama walked. The recognition...the authority she bore...it inspired awe in the young man dwelling in her shadow. He tried to avoid looking at those around him, no doubt they were wondering why someone so important was leading around such a ragged-looking person. After a bit of walking, they turned down a series of streets leading into what was obviously a residential area, Akina-sama swiftly moving to a specific building and scaling the stairs quite efficiently, leaving young Utsuro in need of his longer legs just to keep up. Listening intently as they seemed to stop at a specific door, he carefully accepted the documents given to him, treating them with the utmost care. It had been fairly easy to deduce what exactly was occuring right now, but the knowledge did not stop his heart from racing any less, nor did it diminish the suspension of disbelief he found his mind in. His head swam almost too quickly to listen as she handed him the envelope, turning the key in its lock. " Welcome home." Akina-sama said with a smile, handing the other key over as the door swung open. Standing frozen in a stunned silence, the words echoed in his head for a moment. Slowly, tentatively, as if any moment a dream could come crashing down around him, he entered the apartment. Apartment 309. Home.

Akina couldn't help but smile a little as she watched Tsutomegi-kun's reaction to being told this was home. Poor kid... it must have been awhile since he'd had anything like this. "Well," she told him, returning to her businesslike tone and tucking the folder neatly under her arm, "That concludes my part in today's events. The rest of the day is yours, just don't forget and leave anything in the guest quarters. I'll see you tomorrow at the hospital. Don't forget!" She held up one hand to form a quick seal, and with a puff of smoke and a flutter of leaves, she was gone.

Nodding dumbly as she spoke, he barely managed to turn around in time to thank her, but all he could see was a flurry of leaves and a few remaining wisps of smoke. Well...she's a busy woman..Shutting the door quietly, he went back to looking around the apartment. There's so much space..Good, because you've got a ton of junk.Setting the impressive bundle of belongings down in the middle of the floor, he rested a hand on it. " It's not junk...they're memories...something from everyone we lost.." You keep saying that, but it still looks like you just wrapped up a chunk of a landfill..Undoing a knot, ropes fell away and the bundle opened, almost blooming like a strange flower. Inside this blossom sat an array of items one would more commonly find grouped at a yard sale. But to the strange boy, each item was precious, priceless, containing cherished memories of people he would never see again. One by one the items were extracted, and found itself a place amongst the furnishings of the apartment. "Onii-san's sword.." Fingers traced the black scabbard. Hey, I've been looking for that! Now I can..No, Ichi-sama...I...don't think Konoha's ready for that yet...Heh..good point, kidThe amassment of items dwindled, spreading across the room until only one remained, wrapped in thick layers of burnt and torn cloth to protect it. These layers were slowly peeled away until their guarded treasure of treasures was revealed. A single photograph, charred at the edges, crumpled, but nonetheless displayed proudly in a sturdy frame. In this photograph stood a man with pitch-black hair and dull grey eyes, at his side was a shorter woman, beautiful with kind blue eyes and strangely white hair. These figures were flanked by their obvious children. Four boys, ranging from late teens to knee-high, all with their father's hair, the youngest boy bearing his mother's eyes. And they were all smiling. Sighing, the third boy from the image, the only one left still alive, placed the frame upon the dresser. "We're home, everyone.."
