Yamiko blinked in surprise at being greeted and looked to Iro, bowing his head slightly.
"K-konnichiwa, Iro-san." He stammered and smiled momentarily at being recognized as a graduate. He fell silent once more, though, as his stomach growled again and he had a decision to make on what kind of ramen to feed it.
Quickly, he looked away, focusing on this task.

Only when the conversation paused did Kaori get a good look at what was going on in the Ramen stand. The Adarakis boy had vanished into the shadows, the two youngest customers were chatting to themselves....wait. The young man in the black. Where did he go? As she sat there she watched the shadows move and form themselves into the familiar shape of young Mazrakiel. Guessing from the feel of his chakra, what she could make of it...
"Interesting. Very interesting indeed."

Mazrakiel heard her speak...
"Interesting. Very interesting indeed."
Me? Interesting? I... I...
...
What? What'd I do?
"Sorry, Hokage-sama?"

Kaori smiled, a mysterious - and somewhat mischievous - smile she often got when she was thinking or planning something. That ability of his with shadows had piqued her interest. She hadn't completed her study of Konoha's archives, and thus had not come across that specific ability just yet.
"That jutsu you used just now. It's very...intriguing..."

Mazrakiel smiled, nervously. Kagetokeru? Intriguing? She'd seen it before... why was it now intriguing?
Actually, he was kinda scared. The look on her face. It was as if she were planning something... something.. evil...
"Uhh, er... thank you Hokage-sama... uhh..."
It went without saying that he had no idea what that look meant.
(OoC: Lol.)

She chuckled. "You see, the last time we met, I didn't get a good look at it. I'm sure you know why." She paused, looking him over carefully. There was something...odd....about him. At first she couldn't put her finger on it, but then it clicked. How could it have taken this long to notice? He was supposed to have been away for weeks doing intensive training, yet he seemed to be perfectly fine. No injuries, no scars, not even a trace of fatigue other than a slight hint of tiredness around his eyes. Interesting indeed. She set her chopsticks down on top of her now empty bowl and turned to face him directly. "Would you care to honor me with a demonstration?"

A demonstration? Of Kagetokeru?
She wants to see... what I can do?
He could feel his father's thoughts... "This is your chance, son." Maz smiled.
"A demonstration...?.... heh... sure."
This is my chance to show my worth... thought Maz... but how?
She wants to see what Kagetokeru can do... and after my training, I can do so much more with Kagetokeru... but... how am I going to...?
He stood up, and peered through the curtains of the ramen stand, looking up at the sky. Midday. The sun was right out. Bugger.
But she wants to see what it can do...... he thought to himself. "This is your chance."
He held his breath, and prayed for a miracle. Maz turned to Hokage, and said to her "A demonstration then."
Color swirled out of his body, and he turned black. His body turned into a black mist, a dark fog, and dispersed into the ground; he was nowhere to be seen.
Kagemaru looked outside. Midday... thought Kagemaru. Of all the times to want a demonstration of Kagetokeru. "He might be a little while."

Kaori shot a keen look at Kagemaru. She didn't know him too well, but she knew enough to match name with face. "Not a scratch, but the feel of his chakra seems different than before. Just what have you been doing these past two weeks?"

Kagemaru smiled. He'd never really talked to Tensei-sama before. What an opportunity to do so; when she's Hokage, too!
"I've been, teaching him a few things, that's all. Teaching him to be creative... challenging him mentally; the heart of the Adarakis is the mind... or so we say, heh heh." Kagemaru laughed out loud.
"Actually... he's found a way to improve his Kagetokeru skills. Granted that he's always been better than me at that skill... but he's actually found a way to take objects with him into his shadow form..."
His sentence was cut short, when all of a sudden, he felt his son's presence in the ramen stand once more; a black fog condensed in front of Hokage, forming the shape of the young Adarakis. Within seconds, Mazrakiel had materialised in front of Kaori, only he was holding something in his hand; a small folder, bearing the Konoha symbol on the front: Hokage's folder.
He stopped to catch his breath, and handed the folder to Kaori.
"I believe this belongs to you."

She should have known. She should have expected something when Kagemaru spoke of bringing solid objects with him... but when young Mazrakiel appeared before her, she had eyes for only one thing: the folder in his hand. She eyed him curiously and then calmly took the folder, opening it and leafing through its contents - the report she had been trying to read earlier - before snapping it shut again and setting it casually on the counter. It was only then that she fixed him with a sharp yet eerily serene gaze.
"Did you read the contents of that folder? Did you look through or read anything that was in that office?"

"No! No! Not at all... folder's still intact, contents unbrowsed." Maz smiled. "You asked for a demonstration, Hokage-sama..."

Kaori raised an eyebrow at the young Adarakis. For someone who had been caught in the Hokage's office alone and unbidden, he was acting pretty proud of himself. "Well, as long as you didn't go through anything, there's no harm done." She grinned, her eyes sparkling deviously. "Well, to make up for the heart attack you nearly gave me, I'll let you return this to its proper place." She held out the folder to him. "Oh, and next time, please ask before entering my office and going through my things."

Mazrakiel smiled.
"As you wish, Hokage-sama."
He graciously took the folder, and within seconds, he was gone again.
Kagemaru apologized for Maz's behaviour. "Forgive me, Hokage-sama."
He sorta looked around for a bit, before looking back to Hokage... "...excuse me but... why is it you wished to see Kagetokeru?"
He had to give it to Maz though; if there was anybody to show off Kagetokeru.... the best candidate would be Maz. But... why was she so curious?

Kaori shook her head with a smile. "Your son is certainly adventurous. I'm sure you are aware of his previous meeting with me?" She paused, gauging his reaction, then continued. "That time, I had far too much on my mind to notice any more than that he was following me using some kind of jutsu. I'm sure you can understand why. Anyways, today was the first time I really got to see that jutsu clearly, and it struck my interest." She paused. "If you have the time-" that meant 'you willhave time' "- come by my office this afternoon. Both of you. Oh," she added, "and I think it's best that he not know until after I have left."

Nada had made no response to Iro, mainly because she could not think of a suitable one. On the one hand, she agreed with his statement. On the other, her pride would not allow her to smilingly accept advice from a genin. It was not as if she was unaware of the importance of working for the village at the current time.
She wisely chose to remain silent, rather than say something unbefetting a high-ranked in the presence of her sensei.
The Homuras were in the middle of dinner when an interesting incident occurred. Neither had noticed the odd disappearance and reappearance of the Adarakis genin, nor the Hokage's particular interest in him. It was not until Kaori-sensei asked Mazrakiel for a demonstration that Nada discreetly looked over to see what was going on.
She looked up just in time to see the genin turn completely black, dissolve into a dark fog, disperse, and disappear completely. She blinked once or twice, uncertain of what she had just seen. When he returned with a folder from Kaori's office, the Hokage wasn't the only one who had gained an interest in his skills.
