It's all good. It was fun to write it anyway. lol
And I figured you didn't want to have Kazekage or HSV as being a Bad Guy. I just tried to spice things up a little, because I wasn't entirely sure of the stances between all of the villages of the world, so I didn't want to have, say, Hidden Sound Village being enemies with HSand... it's up to Kaori to decide the political stances each village has (with perhaps some input from Keitaro, since his family deals with the history of the world). I also didn't want to introduce other enemy villages, because that would be essentially thrusting HLV&HSV into war straight away (as allies, yes, but back into the fray)... which is why I didn't write BadGuy as being from a different village.
Maybe he could just be from a renegade Sand family or something. Whatever parts of the story you liked, give us a yell, or try work it into one of your ideas, or something.
By the way. I have nothing against Sand. Sand are cool. XD

Okay, here's what I have now: Konoha travels to Sand and arrive to a huge welcome from the whole village. They spend the day relaxing and possibly hanging out with Sand ninja (Kaori's spending her time catching up with Kazekage, an old friend of hers) while resting up from the journey. The ceremony itself takes place first thing in the morning with a huge festival beginning that day and lasting for quite awhile, possibly about a week or so. Mostly ANBU, Jounin, and Chuunin are selected for the trip, but some Genin and Academy Students are invited to come as well as an opportunity to learn about other villages. At the end, there's another ceremony - this time a farewell - and Konoha leaves with desert guides and representatives (returning to Konoha with the main group to discuss the alliance and other important stuff like the aftermath of the assassination attempt from earlier) from Sand. The lone dying shinobi is found and nursed to health, then questioned using Genjutsu - perhaps Kaori could put her Tensei skills to use? - and brought back to Konoha. You can see how this fits into the main storyline by going here: villageofkonoha.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=OoCplan&action=display&thread=1108433540

Okay, with the addition of Hokage, Raikage and Kazekage's relationship to the plot... should we have something like that as the reason for Hokage's invitation to the Sand Village?
I actually have an idea (see the Assassination Attempt thread for reference). Perhaps there could be an ulterior motive to the visit to the Sand Village.
Let's say Kaori has a small suspicion it was Raikage who launched the terrorist attacks on Konoha. Kaori not only has a ceremony celebrating the alliance, but Kaori also wishes to speak with Kazekage concerning any information he might've heard about their old friend. She keeps all the information to herself, however... so everybody else doesn't really know what's going on, but she and Kazekage have the most informed opinions as to what's happening.
Who knows? Maybe the ninja found in the desert could be planted by Raikage, who hopes that Kaori's kindness will take the wounded man into the village (where she can unleash some more destruction via tags. lol)?
What do we reckon?

I was actually planning on that. As a matter of fact, Kaori was working on drafting a message to Kazekage saying she'd like to come and personally thank the Sand Village for their help when the attack strikes. When everything settles down a bit she adds a note on the bottom - in the personal code they used when working together; no one else knows it so it's the safest way to go - saying there's something she needs to speak to him right away about in person, seals the note and sends it to the Sand Village with strict instructions to be delivered, unopened, straight to Kazekage-sama himself. Thus the whole thing will appear rather abrupt to those outside the small circle of those informed - "Hey, wake up! We're going to Hidden Sand Village today!" (okay, maybe not that abrupt, but pretty close) - but anyone who really knows what's going on (pretty much Kazekage, maybe one of his advisor/assistant/whatever people, Akina, and Kaori) knows the true reason behind the rush.
The guys in the desert could actually be Raikage's downfall. The two were sent to spy but in the harsh desert surrounding Hidden Sand Village, they couldn't make it. By the time they're healed, interrogated, and the information is figured out, it's smack in the middle of the Chuunin Exams, and Konoha's youngest generation of Shinobi are smack in the lion's den. Or something.

That sounds cool, actually. Figuring it out in the middle of the Chuunin Exams, and a messenger is sent, so Raikage's plan (to do whatever to them at the Chuunin Exams. I would assume kill. lol) doesn't go quite the way she wants it to. It even sounds like something they'd do in Naruto or some'n.

But can they even get a message to them? It'd have to wait til the main matches, when everyone comes to watch, or it'd be too suspicous. Meaning the Konoha participants are in for a rough ride until reinforcements arrive.

When is it going up?! Have I missed it?!
I might not be on everyday for a while, Kaori, could you do me a hugemongous favour and PM me when the thread is up and going, I'd really not like to miss this one.
I've got to make it up to my teammates.
I've got to be a good Jounin sensei.
I've got to live up to the expectations that come from being known only to others as..."The Paper".

imagine if you could manipulate paper telepathically.
Able to make it move, change its molecular density to make it harder than steel or sharper than diamond.
Able to form new objects and weapons with it...like paper animals that can actually move!
Or (my personal favourite) create a giant paper airplane, fully capable of taking flight.
Yomiko Readman, watch out! There's a new paper user in town!
But I digress, the status of the new thread?
