Yoshikuni Shou is one of the most intimidating figures in the Village of Konoha today. Tall and gaunt, with paper white skin, black hair, and red eyes, not to mention the unnerving collection of scars all across his body, he has the kind of look that sends small children into hysterics and makes even the most battle-hardened veteran uncomfortable. Having a degree of common sense, he usually conceals this with either a henge or an all concealing black cloak and a mask when he goes out in public. Despite his appearance, however, he has a good heart and is very concerned with the well being of others. His primary loyalty is to the Village, and even more so to the Hokage herself, as he feels she has proven herself to be a more than capable leader. His one quirk is that he feels a particular affinity and concern for those who are outcast, whether from family, social groups, or whatever else. He takes young people like this under his wing and gives them the compassion that they lack otherwise. One specific youth that he mentored and helped in the past was his young nephew, Hyuuga Masato, who had just been exiled from his clan. He helped the boy by asking the Hokage to help him find a place for the boy to live, and then paying young Masato’s living expenses until he managed to get on his feet as an academy student. He was also the one who gave Masato his swords, and taught him to use them properly, with or without the Byakugan. The swords had previously belonged to Masato's aunt, Hyuuga Mana, who disappeared and is presumed dead following the war.
He holds the rank of Jounin in the village, having gone through the academy process the same as any other ninja, but no longer performs the usual Jounin missions. Having a rather… unique technique specialty, he performs various duties everywhere, from working in the hospital to working for the ANBU as a tracker and investigator to spying on other villages, however he prefers to occupy himself with helping maintain the records archive for the village, as it allows him to work at his own pace and satisfy his mild compulsion with perfection while staying out of the public eye.
