Kaori couldn't help but chuckle. You have no idea, child."I'm a medical specialist, child," she told him simply. "In my line of work, the patient comes first. Ah! Here's your friend. Thank you, child," she said to the boy, taking the stand from him and hanging the IV bag from it. She scribbled her orders on a tag, which she hung on the stand as well, before pulling out one more thing from her bag. "You've had quite a time of things, recently," she continued, handing the boy a small pill. "Sometimes extreme stress and exhaustion can actually make it harder to get decent rest. You don't have to, but I would recommend taking that. You may want to get settled in properly, first, as it acts very quickly. Whether you take it or not, though, you'll wake up feeling much better thanks to that IV and the soldier pill I gave you. Be sure and eat proper meals over the next few days. Nutritional content, and decent portions. It's possible to live for quite some time on soldier pills, but there's no substitute for real food. Now, I must be on my way. Sleep well, child." And with that she picked up her bag and swept out of the tent, on her way home to the Tensei clan grounds. As she left, however, she noted with amusement that the Uchiha boy could be heard giving a low whistle.

Doing his best to commit the orders to memory, he closed his hand around the sleeping pill slowly. He'd probably take it soon just to be sure he was not up in the middle of the night, flailing around in sleep-addled confusion and disturbing the other occupants. Thanking her again, softly, he could not even be sure she had actually heard him as she left. Utsuro was unable to stop himself from turning his head, however, when the recently-returned Takeo-sama had let out a whistle.

"She's just like everyone says," Takeo observed with a shake of his head upon noticing Tsutomegi's seemingly questioning look. "It's the first time I'd met her in person, but I knew who she was right off the bat. You just can't help but do what she says right when she says it, y'know? I wouldn't be surprised if they named her as... OH! I almost forgot! I'm supposed to give you this, and I should probably do it while you're still awake." He fished in his pocket for a moment before pulling out a folded piece of paper. "We're supposed to give these to all the refugees," he explained, handing it to Tsutomegi. "It's a map of the village. The tents here are marked, and so are the aid stations and food tents. Lights out is at ten in the tents, but no one's gonna stop you if you wanna go to sleep before or after. You just have to be quiet once it hits that time. Food tents aren't open all night, so be sure and pay attention to the schedule, but aid stations operate 'round the clock. Oh, and if you need anything, you're supposed to just ask at the admin tent, where you talked to the triplets earlier. "And that's the welcoming spiel!" he finished with a grin and a thumbs-up. "I didn't bore you off to sleep, did I? Speaking of which, are you gonna go to sleep on top of your blankets or what? That might get kinda cold later...."

The man was certainly a font of information, that much was sure. Accepting the map, it was carefully tucked into a pocket with his good arm. He nodded slightly, and subsequently shook his head at the last bit of Takeo's stream of speech. "You are f-fine...been..very helpful. And I'll...be okay..c-cold...d-does not b-bother me much anymore.." As if a light flickered on inside his head, Utsuro's voice seemed to shift in direction, aimed more across the tent. "..I...h-hope...w-we have not b-been bothering you.." He said to the young girl still seated on her bed. She had been there through the whole thing, and he could only imagine how annoyed she could possibly be by the whole ordeal.

Ayaka wasn't sure what kind of morbid curiosity had compelled her to watch everything that had been going on in front of her, and - worse - to keep watching after the excitement seemed to be dying down. She tried to look away and pretend she hadn't been staring, but it was too late. She was caught. "If you were bothering me, I'd leave," she said simply in a soft, low voice. It wasn't overly quiet or timid, just... soft. "Aw, crap!" the black-haired errand boy suddenly exclaimed, which made Ayaka blink in surprise. "Sorry, but I gotta go! Aniki's gonna kill me if he thinks I'm slacking off! G'night, Tsutomegi! See ya around!"And he dashed out of the tent. Ayaka stared after him for a moment before turning her gray eyes back to the boy across from her. Outside, she could hear the rumbling thunder getting closer. It would rain soon. "You have weird friends," she observed after a moment's silence.

Blinking, he watched Takeo-sama's sudden exclamation and hurried departure. Once he was able to get back on his feet again, he'd have to be sure to go to the administration tent and ensure he did not get in trouble on Utsuro's behalf. Turning his gaze back across the room, he returned his focus to the girl. "T-takeo-sama...w-we...only j-just met.." He said quietly. "I..wish I could....say I had friends...weird or otherwise.." Utsuro mused almost to himself, as the thunder rumbled overhead.

"Fair enough," Ayaka said with a shrug. "You really call people you just met -sama?" That was odd. She'd never heard of someone being that formal with people their own age before. She didn't pursue the topic, though; instead she decided to change the subject. "I'm new here too," she told the boy across from her. What had that other boy called him? Tsutomegi? "They brought me in a few days ago, after that huge battle was finished." Part of her felt like she should say more, but for now just left it at that. She didn't like getting overly chatty with strangers, and if this Tsutomegi character wanted to keep talking, he would.

"O-one...must show proper respect to one's s-superiors.." Utsuro replied quietly at her first question, rhetorical though it seemed. It had not been the first time it was brought up, and most likely would not be the last. "I s-see...I was...told of that....the war....it's...t-terrible..were you hurt?" The young woman seemed fine enough, albeit a little reserved. It was nice to know, however, that he was not the only stranger to this village. Comforting, to say the least. He only hoped he was not bothering her or keeping her from something more important.

One must show respect to one's superiors? That boy earlier couldn't have been much older than Tsutomegi or Ayaka - she thought they all three must be close to the same age, actually - and had complained about being ranked so low that he was reduced to gruntwork. He couldn't really be someone they were expected to bow to or salute or anything... could he? Even the higher-ranked shinobi seemed so approachable. "No," she said in reply to Tsutomegi's question of whether or not she was hurt. "I'm fine. I was separated from my family, though." Why on earth was she telling him this? She shifted awkwardly on her cot, unsure whether to say anymore. Surely a random stranger wouldn't care about Ayaka's story.

"I...am...very sorry...to hear that.." His face fell visibly, further adding weight to the sincerity of his words. He knew firsthand just how horrible that felt...and yet...perhaps there was hope for her. "Will....y-you be....reunited soon?"

"Not sure," Ayaka replied with a shrug. So maybe this Tsutomegi really did care. Either that or he was just pretending to be interested for nicety's sake, but it was the most Ayaka had spoken to another person since she got settled in, so she continued. "Everyone got scattered when the fighting came, and by the time the Leaf ninjas got there, not everyone had come back. I don't even know if they're alive or dead. Maybe the others will tell them I came here and they'll come too, but..." she shrugged again. "When they offered to take any of us who wanted to Konoha, I knew. I just had to go, you know?"

Nodding, he seemed to listen intently, his eyes, while not gazing directly at her, seeming to reflect the sadness he felt inside. Her story..while not identical..still resounded with his own hardships, regardless of the outcomes and amount of time passed. She seemed to need someone to speak with, and it was thankfully something he could do. "I see...I hope...they managed to s-survive...b-but.." He paused for a moment, contemplating just how to phrase things properly. "If they...have passed...I am certain...they would have supp-ported your decision...they...would want you to live on...and live well..and are..watching over you..even now.."

Listening to the boy across from her, Ayaka could almost think he'd experienced something akin to what she was going to. But listening to him also brought up feelings she hadn't wanted to confront. Her blood family may not have wanted her, but they were still her family. And her foster family had at least tried to love her, though she had never felt much of a connection with them. And she had just left without even checking to see if they were alive or dead? "I.. I..." she began, but was unable to speak. Surprisingly, she felt a sudden wetness on her face, and hurried to scrub at her eyes rather aggressively with an overlarge sleeve. "Ugh. Sorry," she said awkwardly, obviously embarrassed. "I didn't mean to.."

A wave of helplessness washed over him as he watched this girl cry. Only just met, did not even know her NAME, and he'd brought her to tears. Just my luck..And he could not even get her a tissue. "F-forgive me...I..did not intend...to make you cry..I was..only..t-trying..to offer..c-consolation...It was...not m-my place.."

"No, it's not your fault," Ayaka said quickly, frustrated at herself for losing it like this where someone else could see. "It's not your fault. It's just... thinking about it... "I mean, some of them didn't know me very well," she explained, "and most of them didn't even want me to begin with. But... I can't help but feel like I abandoned them, y'know? 'Course, most of them are probably just glad I'm gone," she finished with a shrug. There was no bitterness or melodrama in her voice; it was just a simple statement of fact. She was sure her blood family would be only happy to be rid of their unwanted reminder of a terrible night 14 years ago.
