It was incredibly curious that Ayaka-san had limited experience with doctors. Although, given his own, he could not say it was such a bad thing. It did not seem that she'd come from any of the shinobi villages, so her limited knowledge of the footwear made complete sense, at least. Watching her shift around a bit, testing the sandals and listening to her comments, he nodded. "Yes....they're...designed for the...best balance...of comfort and protection...Since..well...They are..generally worn for...extended periods..while on missions...that is.." "And..you are welcome...I..have a little experience with them....mine are a bit older, but...the basic....concept..was still the same."

"Makes sense," Ayaka observed. "If it works, it works." And now she could finally walk around the village freely. Or, well, as freely as civilians could in a damaged village. A look at a battered old pocket watch she carried around with her, though, made her blink in surprise. Was it already this time? She only had a few hours to look for a job! "I, uh, need to go," she said a little awkwardly. Part of her was embarrassed to talk about her search, so she glazed over the reason for her impending departure. "You gonna be all right by yourself?"

"Ah...yes..." Utsuro responded, choosing against voicing his curiosity at her sudden need to depart. Had he annoyed her again or something to that tune? "I shall...be fine..." He offered the weakest hint of a smile imaginable. "I have...been alone.....for 7 years, after all."

Well, now she'd done it. She really did need to get going, but she felt like some kind of villain for leaving Tsutomegi on his own now. She really needed to learn what made this kid tick if she was going to be living across the tent from him until who knew when. "Listen, uhh..." she began, shifting awkwardly. "You can come if you want, but it'll be boring. And... you have to promise not to laugh at me." What would he say if she told him what she was planning on doing? She had had enough of people judging her for fourteen years; she didn't want any more of it now.

He just shook his head. "I would not want to be...a burden on you...Ayaka-san..." He mumbled softly. Apparently he'd said the wrong thing. AGAIN. "You've important...business to attend to..and I...would just slow you down...But...I would...never laugh at you.." Truth be told, Utsuro couldn't remember the last time he HAD laughed, at anything. "I...should...try to find...the food tent anyway....the medics will become cross...if I do not eat.." He added, fishing into a pocket of his filthy pants for the thing Takeo-san had given him.

"Well... if you're sure," Ayaka replied. He really did need to get something to eat; she wouldn't want that doctor from last night coming back and finding out that Tsutomegi had been skipping meals. She didn't seem the type enjoy being disobeyed. "I'll see you around, Tsutomegi. Take care, okay?" And then she slipped out of the tent, feeling guilty for hurting the potential first friend she'd made here, and yet pressured to get back to her hunt before it got any later. It was going to be a long afternoon.

"Ah...y-you too, Ayaka-san...g...g..Ganbarre.." Utsuro tried to respond in time, but as per usual for him, he could not quite be sure if his tone had carried far enough for her to hear. Finally finding the map he'd been given, it was unfolded carefully and examined intently. Now where was that food tent...

Ayaka sighed, pulling out her map and looking it over. She'd already asked the carpenters, and they weren't taking girls, so business to business it was. She'd checked one of the main streets yesterday, so.... yes. This seemed a good way to go. And so, whether or not she'd end up regretting her decision, she set off. Finally! It was break time! Takeo felt like he'd been working nonstop for the past few days! Of course, so had everyone else, so he couldn't really complain too much. Still, it felt good to just do nothing for a while. He'd already had lunch, so it was time for a little aimless wandering until he went back on shift. Maybe he'd find something interesting.

After several dozens of minutes had been spent walking...well, shuffling really...Utsuro looked up at the large and incredibly destroyed structure in front of him. This...was most definitely not the food tent. You..are absolutely terrible with maps, kid.Sighing, the young man decided to try retracing his steps and taking the other turn at the intersection he spent five minutes agonizing over which turn to make. Would you just let me do it, already?! You..always cause trouble..Ichi-sama..Not always!!.....Name one village. Give me a minute...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lounging along a thick branch, a certain unusual-looking young boy had just finished off a pleasant lunch break, and had just begun contemplating his next helpful move when his partner decided to jump off his shoulder. This struck him as rather shocking, as said partner normally was not prone to such rash movements, and also because they were a good ten or so feet off the ground, and he was a relatively squishy larva. Lunging at him after a moment's hesitation that would HOPEFULLY not result in a trip home for medical attention, Shichuumaru hooked his feet around the branch to prevent a plunge of his own, as his partner landed safe and sound.. ..On a head of red-orange hair that had been walking by underneath the tree. Not that the hair was walking. It was attacked to a human, of course. However, as Gabu-chan set out to indulge in his most peculiar fascination, Shichuumaru was already cupping his hands over his ears in preparation for what ALWAYS came next in such situation; a shrill scream.

Kibikibi Zyubirii hummed happily to herself as she carefully moved about the inside of the building, placing her charges at strategic locations. Yes, it was sad that someone's home or business had been destroyed, but once she brought the building down, not only would it be unable to hurt unwary souls who tried to go inside, but that family would be able to start all over again! When you worked in demolition, it was thoughts like these that kept you going in an otherwise very depressing situation. There was that, and there was also the fact that she just loved her work. She had made these charges herself, of course, which had been fun enough, but figuring out where to place them and why was like figuring out a puzzle. A very large puzzle that was about to explode. There! With the last charge set, Zyu carefully picked her way through the building and stepped outside, where a couple structures had already been brought down. It was a shame, having to destroy so many formerly nice buildings, but they just had too much structural damage to be rebuilt. As did the one Zyu had just finished wiring. She had allowed the family a chance to say goodbye to their old house, but had ordered them to go somewhere else for the detonation itself. Just because she was an expert didn't mean that something couldn't go wrong. A quick look around didn't reveal anyone close enough to be in danger, so Zyu turned back to her work. A quick few hand seals, a small burst of chakra... And with an echoing BOOM the charges detonated, and the building collapsed in on itself in a pile of rubble and a cloud of dust. She waved the dust out of her face, coughing all the while, and surveyed the result as soon as the dust cleared enough. Perfect, she noted with a satisfied nod. The building had been brought down completely, but without disturbing its neighbors, which had sustained little enough damage that the families had elected to repair what was still standing. Another jutsu served to search out any charges that hadn't blown properly - duds did happen, unfortunately - but she found nothing. Just in case, she performed a jutsu to completely disarm any undetonated ones, and then pulled a roughly folded map out of her large satchel, sat down on the ground, and spread it out in front of her. Next came a clipboard and a pen, which she used to mark off the house she had just demolished both on her map and on her list of buildings to take care of today. There were a few more on this street; the fighting must have been pretty bad here. Well, time to get back to work. Zyu stretched, stood, and packed her things away. Before moving on to the next house, though, she pulled out a water bottle for a little break, idly staring at the house she'd brought down as she drank. And it was a good thing she hadn't moved on yet, or she might have missed the sound of shuffling footsteps headed down her street. "Hey! You there!" she called out, turning to look for the source of the noise and finding a lost-looking teenage boy. "You can't take this way. It's dangerous." THUD.Ayaka almost tripped in surprise when something large and squishy landed on her head, which resulted in her staggering a couple steps before she could recover. What on earth had just happened? The whatever-it-was was still on her head, too, so she did the only thing she could: she reached up to feel it... ... and found something very unusual. What on earth was that? And so she reached up and - very carefully - lifted the thing off her head with both hands and brought it down to eye level. But she wasn't expecting to see what she did. A giant... bug? She stood there for a long, confused moment, studying the creature that had just landed on her head before taking the next logical step, which was to look up and try to see where it had come from. And... was that a boy up there? "This yours?" she asked him, still holding the strange creature at her eye level.

BOOOOMUtsuro just about jumped out of his skin. ICHI-SAMA!!It wasn't me!! I wish it was, but it wasn't!!" Hey! You there!" A voice called out, and he turned to see what had happened. " You can't take this way. It's dangerous." He stopped for a moment. In his travels, he had seen all kinds of people, but he could not recall ever seeing someone with bright orange hair and pink eyes. It almost made his brain hurt to process. "G..g-gomen!" Utsuro apologized as loudly as he could, but even that was barely above polite conversational tone, and bowed swiftly. "I did not...mean...I just....I got lost.." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Where was the scream? " This yours?" The targeted...girl- roughly around his age, it seemed- asked after plucking Gabu-chan from atop her head. Why hadn't she screamed? Girls ALWAYS screamed when Gabu showed himself. And this one was holding him right to her face! "Uhh...yeah! Sorry!" Shichuumaru responded, flipping down out of the tree and landing with a soft thud on his feet, straightening up. "That's Gabu-chan, he's my partner." He offered with a lopsided grin, ruffling his emerald-colored hair nervously. " Buu!" The oversized larva chimed in, and finally took to achieving his goal, as a lock of red-orange hair that had been latched onto with rounded, knobby legs was promptly inserted in his mouth.

"I'd say you did," Zyu agreed, taking another swig from her water bottle before speaking again. Come to think of it... wasn't this that same kid she'd let into the village yesterday? So he found his way to Hidden Leaf Village... and promptly got lost inside it. Not that she could blame him, though. This place could be a maze even to people who knew the streets well. "Didn't they tell you to stay clear of this area?" she asked, wonderingly. "Honestly," she sighed more to herself than anyone else, "just what are they doing, letting civilians wander into my blast zones? Someone could get hurt!" The boy's previous comments were all but lost on Ayaka when she noticed but one thing: .... was that thing.... putting her hair - her hair! - into its mouth!?"Ah... Ah!" she exclaimed in surprise, shifting so she held the creature - Gabu-chan? - in one arm so she could try and pull her hair loose. Despite being alarmed, her voice didn't actually get that loud. She wasn't really one to shout, after all. "That's not yours! Give it back!"

"I..t-try not to..bother...people..." He responded slowly, staring at the ground below him. "I....did you...say...blast...that was YOU?" The young man asked a little incredulously. It sounded like such a terrifying.. You mean terrific..explosion...and this woman had been the cause of it? Just what kind of person was she? She wasn't dressed like a shinobi.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gabu-chan stopped mid-chew. Despite being a bug, really, he had somehow managed to perfectly replicate the look of a small child caught with his hand in the cookie jar. A slight whimper escaped his mouth as the girl began to try and pry the hair out. "Kuwagatamushi Gabuken! We've talked about this! You spit her hair out right now!" The odd boy scolded his odder partner, as he began to work his hands in a circular motion, producing a small glowing orb of a dark amber tone. "You could have just said you were hungry while I was having lunch!" The creature relinquished his hold reluctantly, babbling swiftly in various incomprehensible noises, though the boy seemed to understand him completely, and blinked in slightly surprise. "Really? Wow!" "You're new here then, eh? I'm Shichuumaru, sorry about all that!"

"Sure was!" Zyu said with a grin, fishing around in one of the pockets of the utilitarian cargo pants she wore. "And there's more where that came from." She finally found what she was looking for, and brought out a small pink-and-orange charge to hold out for the kid to see. "I'm working demolition on this street - " she jerked a thumb at the demolished house she'd just brought down " - and at a couple other locations all day today, which is why I said it'd be dangerous to stick around here." "Uhh... yeah," Ayaka said uncertainly, blinking at the boy with the glowing orb by his hands. "How'd you know? Oh, and, uh..." she held out the Gabu creature to the boy, "... here. And, uh, thanks. For.... y'know," she finished, fingering the bit of hair that had been chewed on.

Why...was it...pink and orange? What an unusual woman.. "Th-that's...very impressive..I should...go..stop bothering you.....Th-thank you..for the warning..that is.." Man! Talk about a great job! Purposefully going around wrecking things? Where do I sign up!?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "No problem!" Shichuumaru grinned, taking Gabu in his arm and handing him the small glowing orb, which the larva promptly proceeded to....start eating. "Gabu-chan told me! He said you don't taste like a Konoha citizen, and you've probably got a Water Chakra affinity, which is rare here. We're primarily Fire and Wind, I guess...Though there ARE the Yanagawa with their Lightning.....and my Clan's fairly well Earth-based...Huh..guess Water is all we're really missing!" The young boy laughed. "But that would make sense, considering this is the Fire Country! But yeah. You've got an exotic flavor!" He added, Gabu-chan nodding as he gnawed at the orb. "So what's your name? Where're ya from? What brings ya to Konoha?"
