"N-no...that...will be all. Thankyou." Utsuro took the makeshift map and his own, bowing swiftly(and narrowly avoiding the countertop), and hurried off. "Those two.....were intense....and definitely Tensei." He murmured quietly. Laughter resounded between his ears. "Are...all siblings like that?" Couldn't tell ya."Now then..." Lifting the maps up, he began to examine them carefully. "If I....just stay straight here....then turn left....walk through 2 walls....wait...that wouldn't be good.." It's not to scale, genius...R-right.. Guess they were...going to have to improvise, then. Utsuro swallowed hard.

Ayaka yawned, unable to shake off the feelings of drowsiness that clung to her. She couldn't even remember the last time she had slept this late! Yesterday must have really taken it out of her. Still, she was nice and refreshed now, and it was time for breakfast. She could only hope there was any left.... Hanae groaned, trying awkwardly to sit up despite her bruises. Her volunteer work yesterday had been a risky move, but worth it. Still, she had arrived home to a very displeased Hyuuga Akukaze. Such things were below her station, he told her. She should have been home training. Still, she was glad she had made the choice she had. True, she had paid in full for it, but the fact that she was able to choose in the first place felt good. Blue-black hair lay spilled all over, draping over her arms and shoulders as she tried to sit up; she had been in too much pain last night to bother binding it before sleeping. Of course, that meant she likely had a lot of work to do to get all the tangles out. But right now, she needed a little more sleep. Once she could move properly again, she could worry about working her way back into Father's good graces. Ahhhh.... what a night! After working all day and through the night on the controlled burn - really, the people they kept sending to replace her just weren't up to par! - Miyoko was ready to kick back and unwind a little before catching a few hours' sleep and going right back to making sure no one accidentally burned the village down. First things first, though.... time to go home and get a fresh change of clothes! She had followed orders and worn the typical Jounin uniform for work, but that plus a flak jacket plus the heat of the blaze hadn't been entirely comfortable, even for a Fire user like herself. She found herself humming a little song as she ambled down the street. Her normally wild black hair looked even more insane than usual, the firey look in her bright red eyes was a little dimmer than usual, and she smelled like smoke, but she was content. One could almost say she was entirely in her... heh heh... element.

"Welcome back! Mission accomplished, I assume?" Shichuumaru grinned, resting the sledge on the ground and leaning on it slightly as the messenger returned. Listening to its chirping report, he nodded. "Great! Good job! We'll have to pay her a visit sometime soon, see how she's settling in." The concept was met with a cheerful sound from his partner, unsurprisingly. The messenger saluted, and gratefully accepted a chakra morsel before vanishing in a puff of smoke. "Right then...back to work!" Hefting the sledge again, it was brought down heavily on a large chunk of rubble. Sure, it wasn't the most glamorous of jobs, but these big chunks were hard to transport, and couldn't be burned either, so somebody had to bust them down to size! "Now...this map says to turn here....and...there's a street...just here...so.." Utsuro mumbled...mostly to himself..as he rounded a corner, face buried in the pair of maps. Looking up slightly, he was just in time to see the torso he was turning right into. It was definitely not a man's torso, and it smelled of smoke and ash. We need to run into people like this more often!

Miyoko blinked, surprised to see what almost appeared to be a walking pair of maps rounding the corner. Her instincts weren't that dulled from lack of sleep, of course, so it was easy enough to put out a hand to stop the figure from walking into her. "Well, well? What have we here?" she asked almost to herself, long red fingernails glinting in the sun as she tapped her chin. "Lost, are we?"

Disaster averted. Barely. "S-sorry.." Utsuro bowed swiftly in apology, shifting out of the woman's path. "I d-did not mean to...get in your way...please forgive me..I should have been paying more attention..." "Oh...n-no...I am...just...making my way....to the bathhouse......slowly."

"Oh?" Miyoko asked mid-yawn. "Sounds nice. I'd recommend the hot springs myself, but I think the district's closed right now. Konoha's famous for its hot springs, y'know. If you're sticking around, you oughta check 'em out sometime." What was she saying again? Oh, right. She must be more tired than she thought. "Anyways, you're headed the right way. I think. Lots of bathhouses in the village." An explosion sounded a ways off, and Miyoko grinned. "Heh... sounds like she's at it again. Good kid, that one."

Jumping slightly at the sound of the explosion, he whipped his head around slightly to make sure it was nowhere nearby. Slightly more secure in the knowledge he was not in immediate danger, he returned his attention to the woman in front of him. It was strange, but he knew exactly who 'she' was. Certainly there would be other people working demolition in the city, and yet it seemed perfectly natural that this woman before him would know the strange orange-and-pink woman. "Th-thank you...Sorry again for stopping you...I am...certain you are looking forward to...g-getting some rest..You...sound quite tired..." Getting in a quick bow, he stepped aside so the woman could pass, and looked around in comparison to his maps again.

"Yeah," Miyoko agreed with a yawn, "you'd be surprised how few people there are I'll feel safe leaving in charge of the burn out there. You can thank me for the fact that they haven't lit the village on fire, y'know. Anyways. WHy on earth was I walking? I must be tired. See ya, kiddo!" And just like that, she was gone, Flashing away in a burst of flame. Time passed, breakfast came and went, and Ayaka found herself - at last - on the search for a job. She didn't bother asking any more carpenters after being told by several groups that they weren't accepting girls, so she was forced to go from shop to shop. Several shops had turned her down, as had some of the few restaurants that were still open. Not many businesses were up and running, which was understandable considering the war. But it wasn't good for people like her who needed work... One shop in particular caught her eye as she ambled along, so she moved closer to get a better look. It appeared to be a toy store of some kind, and it featured a display of large, fuzzy stuffed animals in the window. Maybe she should ask here.... at the very least, she'd get a closer look at the surprisingly cute plush objects inside.

Extinguishing the corner of his map, Utsuro just shook his head slightly. Konoha sure had some strange people in it. Now then...the Bath House was...this way.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "S-sorry..I shall...find..some way to....pay you back the damages.." Bowing swiftly, and repeatedly, Utsuro scurried off down the road, dodging scrub brushes and stools as he ran. "Stupid soap.." He muttered to himself, rubbing the lump at the back of his head. At least he was clean.

"Sorry, but we're not looking for any help right now. But please feel free to look around while you're here. Maybe you'll find something you like.""I... see..." Ayaka sighed. "Well, thank you anyways." She was about to turn to leave, but the shopkeeper's invitation hung in the air. She had wanted a look at those plush things, and it might be rude to just walk out after he invited her to stay. She might not be able to afford anything, but at least she could look... at... ... the large, round, pink octopus with the adorably innocent smiling face. She had never imagined in her wildest dreams that such an object would exist in the world, much less that she would actually like it. But for some reason she found herself inexorably drawn to the smiling creature, as though the thing itself - inanimate though it was - was beckoning her. Then again, she'd had a conversation with a ladybug this morning, so stranger things had happened than being beckoned by an inanimate object. "Oh, you like that one?" the shopkeeper's voice asked from somewhere behind her. "Why don't you pick him up and give him a hug? I think you'll be surprised."Ayaka was hesitant at first, but after a reassuring, "Go on," from the shopkeeper, she relented, picked up the large 'creature,' and held it out in front of her at eye level. Much like she had done to Gabu-kun at first, she realized with a faint grin. She just stood there for a moment, studying the smiling, pink thing in her hands. It was surprisingly soft; Ayaka had never felt anything like it. And its expression... it was almost like the thing actually liked her. This is ridiculous, she told herself with a sigh. It's a stuffed animal. It doesn't have feelings and it certainly doesn't like you. It'd smile like that even if you were ripping it apart..... that... was a surprisingly creepy thought. Ayaka shuddered slightly, and, remembering the shopkeeper's suggestion, pulled the octopus closer and hugged it tight. ........................ The smiling pink fluffball squished in her arms, and she found herself tempted to bury her face in its soft surface. And while feeling a sudden and unreasonable attachment to a plush octopus, Ayaka had only one thought: This man really knows how to sell things.Still, she couldn't afford to buy anything right now, so she reluctantly set the smiling octopus down. The shopkeeper surprised her, though, by offering to set it aside for her so she could come back and get it when she had a job. Ayaka happily agreed, though her more practical side wondered why on earth she was buying a large, pink octopus plush, but it felt good having something to hug. Ayaka hadn't had many of those in her life. And so she bid goodbye-for-now to the shopkeeper and stepped back out onto the street, onto the next open shop to inquire there. One of these places had to be hiring...

Tsutomegi Utsuro had just painted a wall. On a freshly rebuilt building, no less. And he was still trying to figure out just exactly how he had accomplished this feat. He had been walking. Shuffling really, as was commonplace for him. There had been a dog. Chasing a squirrel. Also rather normal. He had tripped (incredibly normal for him), and then things got hazy. Had the paint tray been launched into the air before he smacked into the scaffolding? Or after? Perhaps it had been the squirrel that had overturned it, fleeing from the dog, who had knocked into several objects out of fright when Utsuro had smacked into the scaffolding, creating quite the noise. There had been some flailing. More noise...yelping....angry chittering....and now... A painted wall. Almost perfectly, at that, with only a few splatters of the paint on the ground and scaffolding. As he finished his backwards tumble off a piece of piping, landing in a slightly sitting position against a handy pair of legs, only one thing could immediately come to mind. "...huh."

It was just another day in post-war Konoha. Which, of course meant that anything could happen. And when anything could happen, it usually did. Like when an unfamiliar boy somehow got caught up in an unfortunate chain of events, sending paint all over the wall of a rebuilt house and coming to a crashing halt... right against Akihiko's legs. He was about to help the boy up when something caught his eye. .... the wall... was almost perfectly painted. "Oh, my," Akihiko observed, surveying the aftermath of the chaos. "You're quite the lucky one, aren't you? That could have been a disaster."

"A-apparently...that was......kind of strange.." He responded quietly, scratching his head in the persisting confusion. Utsuro was far from an expert on the natural laws of the world, but he was fairly certain he had just broken at least one. Perhaps two. And he was still leaning against someone's legs. "Uwah!" Scrambling forward and pushing himself back up onto his feet, the now-slightly-dusty boy bowed swiftly. "S-sorry!" What WAS it with him and almost running people over today?

Ayaka sighed, slipping out of yet another shop. Once again, she had been turned down. She'd have to take another look at her map again soon; she was running out of open places at which to inquire on this street. There just had to be someone who was hiring! Akihiko just shrugged casually. "Don't worry about it," he told the unfamiliar boy with a casual tone. "I've had worse happen than accidentally becoming someone's temporary furniture." Did that even make sense? "But more importantly, are you all right? You don't look hurt, at least..."

"..fine...I am fine..." You had to look, didn't you. Utsuro shuffled back slightly, eyes darting back down to their usual haunt. Another one. ANOTHER one! He was quite literally tripping over Tensei in this village! How unlucky could a Tsutomegi be? Unless....maybe it wasn't luck? They knew he was here, no doubt....was he being followed? Tracked, like some sort of animal? "I have...had far worse occur as well...S-sorry to have bothered you.." Bowing again, his eyes went left..and then right. By which route was escape most plausible?
