Though the day of the new Hokage's inauguration had passed with much excitement and no small amount of barely-organized chaos, by the time evening draped its cool embrace over Hidden Leaf Village, the pandemonium had died down - for the most part, at least. People still came and went, tending to the last bit of business they could squeeze into the day. Even that was beginning to die down, too, as the Hokage had expressed a "strong recommendation" that everyone in the village get a proper amount of rest that night, as there was much to be done in the coming days. And when the Hokage strongly recommended something, people listened.
Except, that is, the young people. As the case usually is, the youngsters of Konoha were only just beginning to have their fun. And one particularly energetic group, the rock band known as Crimson Phase, was preparing to put on a celebration concert for the end of the war and the rise of a new Hokage.
The siblings had been busy all week. Besides practicing whenever they could, many of them had been plastering the Village with posters advertising the event, and that was during the rare hours in which they were helping with the reconstruction or doing other jobs to help keep the village running. With an opening act by their Cousins, the Triplets, and free admission for anyone in Konoha who could fit inside, it was sure to be a great night - at least as far as the band was concerned. For no matter who showed up - or didn't show up, for that matter - they were going to have fun. And if there was one thing the people on Konoha needed right now, it was fun.
The concert, as most Crimson Phase performances usually did, would take place at the Kaomoji Cafe - the Tensei Clan's very own performance venue, owned and operated by the family right there on the Tensei Clan Grounds. As usual, there would be no drinking allowed, as there would most likely be youngster's present, and the Tensei were particularly disgusted by public inebriation anyways. Besides - the coffee, tea, and sugary beverages and snacks served by the Kaomoji Cafe would keep the crowd awake and energetic for the entire concert, which meant more fun for everyone involved.
Any visitor wishing to attend the concert would simply enter the Tensei Clan grounds by the main gate, tell the gatekeepers there that they were there for the concert, and walk straight down the main avenue. From there they would walk past workshops, residential streets, and even a few small shops until coming upon the Kaomoji Cafe on the left. Indeed, a small crowd had already begun to gather outside the entrance, which remained locked while the performers completed their sound check. It was almost six o'clock, though, meaning that the doors would open soon....
"Whaaaaaaat?!?" Hoshiko shrieked in surprise, reading the poster that had been posted near the entrance to the Yanagawa Clan grounds. Crimson Phase, performing a celebratory concert? Why hadn't she seen these posters earlier!? There was no way she was gonna miss this! But having just gotten off her shift protecting the Hokage, there was also no way she'd make it home in time to get ready. She looked one way, and then the other...
...And a devilish grin appeared on the ANBU's face. She focused her chakra, took a deep breath, and declared, to no one in particular, "Denkousekka no Jutsu*!" And with a bright flash, she was gone.
Another flash, and Hoshiko was inside her room - but she wasn't alone. For there were her little brother, Hiroki, and his friends - in the middle of a mess that was decidedly bigger than it had been when she left. All three of them looked as though they'd seen their doom.
In a way, Hoshiko thought savagely, they had.
"Hirokiiii!" she shrieked at her little brother, who had evidently been getting into her things while she was gone. "What are you doing in my room?!?"
"N-n-n-n-nnnee-s-s-san!" Hiroki stammered, his silvery violet eyes going wide with shock. "W-w-welcome home! W-w-w-we were j-j-just---"
"Invading my privacy?" Hoshiko demanded, her Doutai beginning to spark. "Going through my things? How many times have I told you to stay out of my room?"
"And how many times have Mom and Dad told you not to use Denkousekka no Jutsu to come and go?" Hiroki fired back, finally regaining his confidence. The typical "Devious Little Brother" grin slid onto his face as he continued. "You're gonna get it!"
"You're the only one who'll be doing any 'getting' - thrown out, that is!" Hoshiko declared, grabbing her brother's collar in one hand and marching him to the door. "If you two know what's good for you," she told his friends, who had been watching the exchange in perfect silence, "you'll follow."
"Nee-san!" Hiroki whined. "You're choking me!" This, of course, was a huge exaggeration - shout and argue though they may, Hoshiko and Hiroki were very close, and would never truly hurt one another. And though Hiroki knew this, it was just how things were done around here.
"I am not," Hoshiko shot back, knowing full well she wasn't hurting her brother in the least. "Now get out get out get OUT!" she shouted, yanking open the door and depositing an indignant Hiroki in the hallway. His friends were hot on his heels, tripping over each other in their haste to escape Hoshiko's wrath. "And stay out!" she finished.
"I'm telling Mom and Dad!" Hiroki threatened. "C'mon, guys!"
"Oh yeah," Hoshiko murmured as the three kids made their escape as quietly as a herd of elephants. "I should probably tell them I'm here. Hi, Mom! Hi, Dad!" she called out the open door. "I'm home!"
"Hoshiko, how many times have I told you to come through the door?" a female voice answered from the other room.
"Sorry, Mom!" Hoshiko replied, "but there's a Crimson Phase concert tonight and I had to get home in time to get ready! I'll talk to you in a bit; I've gotta start or I'll be late!" At that she closed the door and began to sort through the mess until something caught her eye.
"Heeeeeey!" she cheered, lifting the prized object out of its place in the catastrophe that was her room. "They found my favorite corset! I'll have to thank them for that, later." The newly found corset was black, with a low back that would expose the Doutai on her shoulder blades - and accompanying lightning bolt tattoo - when worn. Gold lightning bolts streaked across four metallic purple panels on the front of the garment, while purple ribbons laced up both the front and back through metal rings. Hoshiko tossed it onto her bed and kept digging until she found her black pants - leather with evenly spaced belts circling the legs all the way down - and her favorite pair of black, platform, high-heeled boots, the one with metal covering the outsides of the platforms. Setting those aside next to the corset, she dashed out to get washed up.
Not long afterwards, after one of the quickest showers she'd ever taken and the best rushed-job blowdrying her hair had ever had, Hoshiko dashed back into her room, tripped several times over everything on the floor, and finally made it to the bed. She threw on her concert outfit at lightning speed and dashed over to the dresser to begin the real fun of getting ready.
Makeup was first. Black eyeliner went on nice and thick before being smudged to blend in with gratuitous metallic purple eyeshadow, resulting in a smoky kind of effect. Black mascara, more purple glitter, and deep metallic lipsick; and she was ready for the accessories. A simple black headband was good enough for her hair - worn differently than her usual flipped style - while a black, studded choker sporting a large, golden lightning bolt pendant went around her neck. Fishnet armbands were next, extending up to her elbows, with a multitude of silver, gold, black, and purple bracelets, bangles, and rings over those. A black leather armband with a gleaming silver buckle that matched those on her pants hid her ANBU tattoo. After loading up her usual plethora of ear piercings - substituting her Academy studs for large golden dangles, like many Yanagawa females - she was finally ready.
"Bye, Mom! Bye, Dad!" she shouted, literally running through the house in her desire to get outside. She sprinted down the stairs, making no less noise than her brother and his friends had done, dashed through the foyer, and slammed the front door shut behind her a little more strongly than she'd meant to.
And now that she was outside....
"Denkousekka no Jutsu!" she shouted, disappearing with a flash. She reappeared outside the Tensei Clan grounds - she knew for a fact she'd get in trouble for flashing in directly to the venue; she'd tried that once and gotten thrown out for her trouble - waved to the guards as she explained the purpose of her visit, and didn't slow down until she was halfway to the Kaomoji Cafe.
"Phew, I made it!" she sighed happily, settling into a sort of easygoing swagger as she approached the milling crowd.
