Kohana became lost in a massive series of events. Akina-san approached, followed soon by Kiyo, who Dakk thought was an assassin. The next thing she knew, Dakk grabbed her by the wrist and began to drag her towards the store entrance.
She planted her feet firmly where she was and resisted as much as she could. Suddenly, she felt a strong hand on her shoulder, followed by a strong, smooth, familiar voice.
"Hey!" it said. "Is there a problem, Kohana?"
Turning her head, she met the gaze of her older brother. Standing behind him were Haruki and Ryuji. "Oh, Aijou!" she said excitedly with a relieved tone, yanking away from Dakk's grip to give her brother a big hug. "What are you doin' here? I thought you were helping dad with the lights."
Aijou smiled, his hands placed firmly on his sister's shoulders. "I was...but it's finished, and I thought I'd come meet up with you and see if you'd like to go to join me and the guys for lunch."
While Kohana chatted with her brother, Ryuji made his way over to Akina, and Haruki followed, except he was head to say hello to Nada.
"Well, good afternoon, Akina-chan!" Ryuji said, surprisingly not in his normal dramatic tone, pulling something from his pocket. "Oh wow! Do you see what's dangling over my head, Akina-chan! I believe that's mistletoe, and you know what that means!"
Haruki made his way to Nada. "Hello, there!" he said smoothly. "How are you?"
"I haven't gotten my ingredients yet, though, Aijou..." Kohana explained.
"That's alright. We can get them on our way home." He then gazed past his sister at the boy that had been trying to drag her away. "Who's that, Kohana? Did he hurt you?"
"That's Dakk... He's new in the village. He didn't hurt me...You don't have to worry." She finished with a wink, a few purple sparks jumping from the doutai on her temples.
"Good...So what do you say? Lunch?"
"Sure!"

Akina grinned. "I do know what that means," she said with a wink. Suddenly she stood up on tiptoe, snatched the mistletoe out of Ryuji's hand, and patted his cheek.
"Merry Christmas, Ryujikins," she said sweetly. "That's the most you'll get out of me. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm in a hurry." Turning away with a wink, she tossed the mistletoe over her shoulder...
...and by a weird twist of fate, it landed right on top of Haruki's head. Akina, unaware of this, walked into the store and vanished behind the many shelves.

It was safe to say that for a few moments Nada had absolutely no idea what was going on. One moment she was talking to Kohana, the next Dakk was tickling Kohana. Then, Kohana was responding, then fighting off Dakk again. And as if just to complicate things more, Kiyoshi came gallavanting up.
"Nada-chan!" he greeted joyfully.
She bristled and gave Kiyoshi a look that probably would have wilted a flower. She was just about to set the boy straight, when she found herself knocked aside by Dakk, who immediately began to fight Kiyoshi. Dakk was frantically shouting something about an assassin. Regaining her balance, she could only watch as Akina broke up the fight.
This was becoming impossibly ridiculous.
Nada watched as Dakk started to drag Kohana off, although apparently the girl had other plans. Her eyes wandered from the pair to see none other than Aijou and his squad approaching. It seemed this festival of insanity was the place to be.
"Hello there! How are you?" came the deep, smooth voice.
Nada stared at Haruki wide-eyed for a full second before her mouth finally realized her brain was demanding for it to respond.
"H-hi!" she managed. "I'm..." there was a pause as she glanced at the others gathered, then gave a small laugh. "...just... confused."
She was about to ask him how he was, when her eyes focused on the small plant that had just alighted atop his silver haired head.

Iro turned to peer over the aisles in the small store. He immediately located his teammate who, like him, towered above the aisles. "Hey Maz, find anything yet?" he called out, only to hear a dissapointed grumble.
Iro scoured the shelves, trying to find just the right things, but was only finding a headache that just kept getting worse and worse. He never was good at this sort of thing. He had always relied on his mothers help for things such as this... but not this year, it would be too embarassing in front of his new teammate.
Iro let out a large sigh, and was just about to give up when he felt something brush across the back of his hand. He stopped immediately and bent down to get a better feel. A smile spread across his face, "this'll be perfect!" He stood back up and called out, "One down, one to go!" After several more minutes of scouring, he gave up and headed towards the checkout line. He handed the clerk his item, and pulled out his money pouch. He began to count out some money on the counter when he saw something to the left of his hand. He picked it up, smiling, and passed it to the clerk as well. After he paid, he motioned to let his teammate he was ready to go when he was. Suddenly, he heard a large group of noises from outside of the shop.

Maz hated Christmas. Presents for everyone. It didn't put a strain on the wallet... too much. But everyone expected something. The problem was, everyone always expected something different, and he wasn't always sure what everyone wanted. That was the point of Christmas presents: people would ask for expensive, extravagant presents at around about this time, anything less wouldn't do. So much pressure.
As he glanced the shelves in the store, he sighed in disappointment. Nothing caught his eye. Nothing. He didn't know what to get. Should he get something cute? Or something practical? What was she like when it came to presents... was it just the thought that counted, or if he gave her something useless, would she just discard it? Leave it on a shelf for years to come? He didn't want his present to be useless. He wanted the gifts he gave to be treasured, or else there was no point to it. That was what was wrong with Christmas.
"Hey Maz, find anything yet?" he heard Iro call out; he shook his head and grumbled disappointedly. The two decided to come shopping together. Maz was going to invite Sorien along too, but he wasn't picking up his phone. Maybe he was busy or something.
He turned away before he set foot in the jewellery section. Stereotypical. Toys... too old for that. Clothes, he didn't know what size she was... and clothes didn't make a good Christmas present anyway. Not unless it was something really special like...
...THAT.
His eyes stopped for a moment on a beautiful kimono; the arms a bright vibrant red colour, the chest and waist decorated with many a flower. He wanted to get it; it looked so good, and would've looked great on her, but... I don't even know what she thinks of it. And it might not fit... she might even take it the wrong way. And she might have lots of clothes anyway... Maz frowned, and moved on.
As he moved through the store he couldn't find a thing worth getting. Not for her... he felt so...
...ashamed...
He approached the checkout, sadly empty-handed. He didn't know what to do. This was the fourth store he tried this week. He'd been waiting for an idea for a present to get for her.. but nothing ever came. He felt... useless, he wasn't good enough to...
His hand reached for a Christmas card: there was a stand near the end of the checkout line filled with them. It was a beautiful one; it probably seemed over the top, saying something about "Your friendship means so much to me", amongst other nice things. He thought twice about it; he didn't want her to think...
... but it was the nicest one there.
As he held the bright red card in his hand, all the while approaching the front of the line, he felt inferior. Surely others were going to get her presents too. Better presents. All you can manage is a card? he thought to himself. He wanted to get her... something that meant something... something that meant everything.
Paying for his card, he too was ready to leave.

Koryo had left his house looking for a place he could buy some food for the next few days. Hearing what sounded like a fight he rushed to watch, only to get there and watch the fight being broken up. he decided to stay for a little bit and watch for a while waiting until the gathering started breaking up. He watched the hokage head into a store.
He started thinking of his family, wondering if and what he should get them for Christmas. Physically waving his hand and dismissing the thought. For now he wouldn't worry about it, if all else fails he could buy things at the last minute anyway. He saw a store that seemed to sell some pretty decent food, walking calmly past the group and into the store.

I do know what that means Akina said to Ryuji with a wink, standing on her tippy toes and snatching the mistletoe from his hand, then patting his cheek.
Merry Christmas, Ryujikins she said sweetly. That's the most you'll get out of me. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm in a hurry. She then turned and tossed the mistletoe over her shoulder as she entered the store.
Ryuji's lip quivered as he watched her disappear behind the shelves inside. Trudging over to Aijou and Kohana, he begged for them to hurry so he could get some food and then some ice cream.
*~*~
H-hi! Nada managed to say. I'm......just... confused. she said with a small laugh after taking a moment to glance around at the crowd that had gathered.
Haruki noticed her staring curiously at the top of his head. He knew he had felt something a second ago, but disregarded it. But seeing as it was now the focus of Nada's attention, he reached up and pulled it out of his silvery locks. Examining it a minute, he spoke up with a smile. "Is this was I think it is?"
*~*~
"Aijou!? Can we hurry please? I'm really hungry! And now I need some ice cream," Ryuji pleaded, shoving his hands into his coat pockets.
Aijou looked at him. "Be patient Ryuji!" he said. "We'll get there when we get there."
Ryuji frowned. "Fine..." he mumbled, plopping down onto the bench where Kohana had just been seated.

Nada watched as Haruki fished the little sprig out of his hair and examined it. When he spoke, it was with a smile.
"Is this what I think it is?"
The obvious answer was probably "yes," although for a moment that answer didn't come. For the duration of those few seconds, her eyes flitted from the small plant, to his face, then back again. Shifting her weight slightly, she smiled uncertainly.
"Maybe?"

Maybe? Nada replied to Haruki's question.
Haruki knew the answer was yes...The situation was quite awkward, and he wasn't quite sure what to do. He blushed a bit, twiddling the sprig of mistletoe between his fingers, trying to think of what to say, or do, next. Letting out a short, nervous laugh, he turned his eyes to the ground. How awkward! He knew what he was supposed to do, but he wasn't sure if it was entirely proper to do out in public, especially with such a large crowd gathered. He smiled again before taking in a sharp breath and planting a soft kiss on Nada's lips.
He then pushed the mistletoe into Nada's hand. "Merry Christmas, Nadameru," he said with a bright smile before looking to his fellow squad members. "Are you ready to go?" he asked them, motioning for them to hurry up.
Ryuji skipped over excitedly, ready to get something in his stomach. Aijou follwed him quietly, shaking his head at how rediculous Ryuji was acting. Kohana walked over to Dakk and stood there for a moment. "It was really nice meeting you, Dakk! Next time I see you, we'll have a rematch, and I won't cheat!" She smiled. "Have a Merry Christmas!" She then hurried over to her brother and the squad.
Looking at her sensei as she passed by, Kohana smirked. "Merry Christmas, Nada-sensei!"

A very awkward moment followed her question, and Nada waited silently for something to happen. Perhaps she should say something, or laugh it off... was that a blush tinting Haruki's face? Surely he wouldn't really--
The train of thought was halted abruptly, much like it had just smashed into the sheer rock face of a mountain. As Haruki moved away from her, she felt him press the mistletoe into her hand. He was smiling.
"Merry Christmas, Nadameru."
She closed her hand around the mistletoe, still staring after him with wide eyes. Her brain knew better than her mouth that she should be responding, but by the time she'd even begun this thought process, he had turned away to talk to his companions. She reached to place an unbelieving hand over her lips.
No way that had just happened.
"Merry Christmas, Nada-sensei!" Kohana commented as she passed, smirking.
No kidding.
Oh, wait.
"M...merrychristmas," she managed to reply rather quickly as she dropped her hand to her side.
A shy smile crossed her face as she dodged the others gathered to make her way back toward home.

Akina grinned at the scene she witnessed as she exited the store. Once the "Bishie Group", as she called them, left, she smiled at Nadameru, her green eyes sparkling. Love was in the air, all right. Speaking of love, he's going to be here soon! I have to hurry!Hoisting her paper bags in one arm, Akina bid farewell to those remaining outside, and hurried down the street from whence she came. * * * * * On the other side of the village, the visitor pulled his dark blue cloak tighter, making sure to keep the hood low. The guards bowed politely when his Konoha guide gave the OK, and together with the young shinobi - he looked like a Chuunin, but he wasn't positive - he hurried into the cold Hidden Leaf, to where Akina-chan was awaiting his arrival.

Kiyo tried to stop it. He really did. He tried really, REALLY hard. But it was no use. It was too late. All was lost. Life was officially over.
It was that d**n mistletoe! NO!!! Kiyo felt as if he was about to pass out. She...she kissed him! That silver-haired freak! He was like Makoto, only not as pale!
In an instant, Kiyo was shattered, and he seemed to go into a state of comatose, busy shoppers running past him as he stood as stationary as a statue.
"....Nada...chan...."
SNAP! Oh dear...something just snapped....poor Kiyo. Poor, poor Kiyo.
OOC: Kiyo is dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomed. So get him a gift ;D
