I don't think...and I hope I'm right...that Jiraiya's down for the count..at least not just yet. He's really torn up, yeah but..people have suffered worse in the series and are still alive?
just gonna have to wait until next chapter, I guess.

Amongst all the mud Kishimoto writes, every once in a while, he manages to churn out a gem of a chapter.
They are far and few, but I'm glad to say this is one of those chapters that is a great read all the way through.
I wouldn't say the writer has redeemed himself completely.... but it does restore a bit of hope to the manga.
1. The battle looks to be finally fricking over. Woohoo. 2. Great revelations about the Uzumaki family. Really fantastic work there. 3. Though it looks like Jiraiya is finally going to die... he has been given a great send-off. It looked disappointing that he might just die straight off, without some sort of massive defining moment (kind of what happened to Asuma; he was stabbed, and... game over?)... but this whole chapter fully gives him the respect he deserves. A really touching moment... definitely one of the best in the series.

lol. Yes, I suppose it is a plus having the story focus back on Naruto...
I'm just glad that fricking fight's over.
I hope this was the last chapter of the battle. Jiraiya's breathed a great last breath... hopefully it won't be drawn out any longer. Close the chest, cash in his chips, and quit while he's ahead.

I'm sure Jiraiya's dead now. What a shame...I would say what a pain...but... yeah. Yeah, it was kinda cool to read and all, and having the whole storyline, but I'm still rather frustrated with the fact that he has gone and killed him off. I mean geez, who is supposed to train Naruto now? Kakashi again? I mean, compared to Jiraiya, Kakashi doesn't even stack up.
Bleh. I'm a little frustrated.
P.S. Smeagi liked it.

He could always grind mobs for EXP? XD Personally, I believe Naruto doesn't need anymore training. There comes a time -- particularly in anime, and especially with the main hero -- when the student surpasses the teacher... where he has finally learned all that his master has to show him, to go out into the world. Having learned chakra and nature manipulation, I'd say Naruto has learned all he can from Jiraiya -- for the record, he DID create his ultimate jutsu with the help of Kakashi too. It could easily be argued that the time of the Sannin is at an end. Sasuke was stronger than Orochimaru and bested him, there wasn't much for Jiraiya left to teach Naruto anyway.... and nobody cares about Sakura. ;D The only thing left really is for Sasuke to 'shed his scales', which could possibly require a guide - either Madara or Itachi. Naruto's remaining strength, however, will come from his own ability to control or suppress the Kyuubi chakra. Or figure out the ultimate jutsu... which, sorry kiddo, without the Fourth, you were on your own anyway.

Hmm. I guess that statement is kind of right, but I still have yet to see Naruto ACTUALLY do anything strategic or logical when he wins fights, he'll fart, or just keep getting up and saying that he'll keep going. Compared to someone with Jiraiyas experience and logic, who lost. The one comment in here that really shone... ".... and nobody cares about Sakura."
