Well. That was interesting.
He's not dead. What a relief, no? Although he wants to get away from his brother and lead a free life. Yeah, I guess he's entitled to.
And Pain. He's out and about killin' Konoha citizens. How nice of him.

Woo! Killerbee lives! And he's still got Eight-O! XD
I kinda like that name for it. Eight-O. The relationship between them is pretty interesting too, how they're on regular conversational terms. Bit of a change from Naruto-Kyuubi, who rarely speaks if just to taunt him with promises of power.
Kinda neat to see how each of Pain's lil lackeys is classified. Things aren't looking too good for Konoha, though. Also pretty awesome how Animal Realm could summon all of them. That's a badass infiltration tactic right there.

I feel a bit lied to, actually. Killerbee not being captured is just as awesome as one of those Uchiha genjutsu battles. It gives Kishimoto an excuse to extend the series unnecessarily; to include boring, uninspired plotlines - like those Lightning Country folks. God, I hope they serve a purpose, 'cos right now I'm hoping a Monty Python foot will come along and stomp them out of existence. I do like the relationship between Killerbee and Hachibi, though, yes. There's less of a 'give into the dark side' going on... which as pointed out, is a refreshing change. There's also something kinda cool about him just wanting to get away from the village, from the responsibility of being a 'weapon'. I LIKE PAIN'S KILLING. I think this series doesn't have enough death or gore in it. KILL THEM WILLY-NILLY. XD

There's less of a 'give into the dark side' going on.. Well, at least we agree on something. Killerbee/Hachibi are awesome. I have to disagree about the Killerbee thing, though. It's not really the same as the Uchiha Genjutsu 'battle', because he just downright fooled everyone using the more basic of ninja skills. Sure, he had some help from Hachibi, but he still survived the fight against Godmoddy Sauce and Amaterasu using a Bunshin/Henge combo. That deserves some respect in my book. Not ONLY did he fool Sauce and the Condiments, but even Tobi fell for it. And I really think it's not an excuse to extend the series, I think he's working on developing things. For the longest time, it was just Konoha versus assorted enemies, but now we're seeing that Akatasuki has a globalized goal, as does Pain with his own agenda. What Raikage is doing is expanding the scope, because it really is a threat to the whole ninja world.

Hmm. I guess... you do make a nice point about the scale of the manga growing.
I liked it when it had focus... and by that I mean, it was easier to focus on Konoha vs Baddies. Now I suppose Naruto still has focus... it's just broadening to include the whole ninja world. To me, it's just a little difficult to keep the same sort of interest when you zoom out a bit, know what I mean? It's much easier to care about Team 7 than it is to care about Konoha than it is to care about the whole shinobi world.
I do sincerely hope things get better. In the meantime... I'm looking for a fast-forward button until he gets to the juicy bits. XD

I actually agree with Maz's last post here. And we usually disagree with each other on about everything. I think it does in fact make it more difficult to follow and has less focus on something. When you have 5 stories going on, it's hard to tell who is where. We have Pain, Saucuke, Naruto, Akasuki, and Konoha (decypherers). Brings me back to the days where we had: Chuunin exams. The evil forest. One focus. Team 7 vs the world. T'was kinda cool. Now, well...it's too big to be supported by a weekly manga piece, all of 13 pages max.
I too think it's cool that Killerbee and Eight-O have a pretty relaxed sorta relationship. So far all we've seen is the sinister Kyuubi and Shukaku, who pretty much screws up it's host.

LOL. I think we kinda agreed on the previous chapter too, so maybe we're on a roll or something. haha.
Profound statement, about... it being too big to be supported by the few pages it has each week. It's all the more maddening when very little happens with each chapter as there's so much ground to cover; it's very disappointing when the story doesn't move an inch. XD
