Name: Tensei Shirayuki (天声白雪)
Village: Konoha
Age: 65
Gender: Female
Rank: Jounin
Blood Type: A
Chakra Affinity: Water
Musical Specialization (Primary): Shamisen, Flute
Musical Specialization (Secondary): Voice
Musical Specialization (Tertiary): Dance
Other Info of Note: Because Shirayuki was born blind, she is obviously immune to sight-based Genjutsu, and extreme light and dark don't affect her in the least. However, because her other senses adapted to accommodate her blindness, she is more vulnerable to other forms of Genjutsu (such as sound-based) than other Tensei at her level.
Family:
-Father: Tensei Hiroyuki (Deceased)
-Mother: Tensei Chieko (Deceased)
-Siblings: Tensei Kurogashi (天声黒樫) – Brother, 65
Tensei Akamatsu (天声赤松) – Brother, 65
Physical Description: Shirayuki is tall, standing about 5'8”, with curvaceous build that she makes no effort to hide. Her hair, worn extremely long in the old-fashioned style of the original Tensei, is a distinct shade of silvery white with a faint purplish sheen. Long, feathered bangs frame her face while part is pulled back into a large, high bun decorated with intricate hair sticks and the rest falls well below her knees. For all this, though, the first thing anyone notices about her is her eyes: large and slightly tilted like all Tensei eyes, hers are a shade of pale silver with just the faintest hint of a purplish tint (barely noticeable except in certain light), framed with lashes that are even thicker and more dramatic than usual. Her skin is fair, her lips colored with a light purple lipstick, and her nails kept just slightly longish and lacquered in the same shade. Her distinct facial features are usually either fixed with an icy, stern expression or just the faintest hint of a mysterious smile. For clothes she wears the flowing, multi-layered garb traditionally worn by the early Tensei, a style many of the younger shinobi no longer observed. Her clothes are of the longer, more graceful cut worn by the most accomplished Tensei, and are usually in either white or black with purple accents and sometimes a subtle splash of blue and/or green.
Personality: Shirayuki cares deeply for her friends, family, and village, though the casual observer might not guess this at first. Her name, which means “white snow,” suits her well: Shirayuki's outer demeanor is that of an icy coolness laced with a commanding presence. She favors order and efficiency; when she wants something done, she wants it done exactly when it is supposed to be done (which is usually, but not always, right now if not five minutes ago or even yesterday). She can be a relentless taskmistress, but she does have a gentle side as well – even if not many people get close enough to her to see it. She is unyieldingly loyal to Konoha, and will do anything to ensure its safety and well-being.
Likes: Tea, music, teaching, snow, spending time in Konoha
Dislikes: Judgmental people, disrespect
History: Shirayuki is part of only two sets of triplets currently living in the Tensei clan, and also the member of one of Konoha's more famous shinobi teams. Her story – and those of her brothers – starts before it was even known that her mother was pregnant. Tensei Chieko, at the time an accomplished kunoichi in her own right, was hit by an enemy's jutsu that, while causing no permanent damage to her own person, affected her unborn children.
There was much confusion when Shirayuki and her brothers were born: all three were pure-blooded Tensei, yet they all displayed unusual coloring for Tensei, to say the least. Still, the triplets were well-received, and there were high hopes that they would grow up to become great shinobi – until, that is, it was learned that their coloring wasn't the only thing that had been effected: Shirayuki herself had been born blind, while her younger brothers Kurogashi and Akamatsu were born deaf and mute, respectively.
It was with heavy hearts that the Tensei Clan readjusted the trio's education from the way of the shinobi to focusing entirely on the Tensei arts, hoping that in time the three could at least come to be able to educate future generations of Tensei shinobi. And, for the most part, things went smoothly. The three were trained not only in the Tensei arts, but also how to adapt to their various disabilities: Shirayuki learned how to sense people and her surroundings, how to read braille, and how to get around independently for the most part, Kurogashi learned how to read lips, and all three learned how to communicate using various hand signals (in Shirayuki's case, her brothers would sign into her hands) – using both complete forms of sign language and quick, simple gestures meant to convey specific messages quickly.
It soon became clear, however, that the three children weren't happy. They knew all too well that the other Tensei children were learning how to be shinobi, and while they themselves got to dabble for the sake of having a complete education, they knew that they were being kept out of the shinobi life.
All was not lost, however, as their grandfather, Tensei Kichiro, recognized the potential these special children had. Despite their disabilities, the three were handling daily life perfectly fine; not only that, but they were beginning to display fantastic potential. And so it was that Tensei Kichiro took his grandchildren under his wing and, somehow managing to keep it a secret, trained the triplets in the way of the shinobi.
It is the way of the Tensei for young people to take a sort of test and display their abilities in front of the clan before being allowed to enter the Ninja Academy, a sort of final exam before being allowed to graduate into the world outside the Tensei Clan grounds. It was at this test that Kichiro announced that he had some surprise entrants into the festivities (as the event is not only a test, but also a celebration of the youngsters' progress and achievements) – and stepped aside to reveal Shirayuki, Kurogashi, and Akamatsu.
It was like throwing a match into a propane tank.
Besides being absolutely shocked, many Tensei were angry that Kichiro would go against the Clan's decision to keep the trio away from the Shinobi life. It was a breach of custom strong as law, of course, and there was the fact that he had kept it a secret for so long. Then there was the popular opinion that Kichiro had only hurt the three children, making them think they could actually have a chance at being shinobi. Kichiro just smiled, and asked that they at least be given a chance. Eventually it was agreed that they should at least be given the chance since they had already been trained, and the rest, as they say, is history.
If the rest of the Tensei had been shocked to hear that the triplets had actually trained in the shinobi arts in secret, it was nothing to their reaction when the three not only passed the test, but did so in spectacular fashion. The three were accepted into the Ninja Academy, and continued their nigh-impossible career, doubling their shinobi training with Kichiro while continuing to study the Tensei arts alongside their own special training, and complete their Academy studies. It was a hectic schedule, but it had to be done if they were to succeed.
They were still faced with opposition from nearly all sides, of course, even after they became Genin and were placed on a team together. Despite their successes as Genin, most of that opposition didn't stop until their collective promotion to Chuunin, and some of it not even then.
Because the trio were at their most effective as a team, they chose to remain together as a team – thus was Task Force: Santsuki (三月); literally, “Task Force: Three Moons”. With Shirayuki as the White Moon, Kurogashi as the Black Moon, and Akamatsu as the Red Moon, the team quickly gained notoriety, if only for the name itself.
Santsuki, however, was not to be taken lightly. From its inception as a trio of Chuunin to its eventual evolution into an elite Jounin task force, Shirayuki, Kurogashi, and Akamatsu worked together to make Task Force Santsuki not only a success, but so well-known that it would prove once and for all that their differences from other people didn't mean they couldn't be good shinobi. And to do that, they had to be the best.
While they're not the absolute strongest shinobi in Konoha, Task Force Santsuki has been an overwhelming success. Though they are now in a state of semi-retirement, the trio can still be counted on to take on some of Konoha's most important missions. It is unclear what exactly the three do in their free time, as they tend to keep to themselves, but they always appear when needed.
