It's not much, but I thought I'd post what I have so far. History, Origins, Customs, and Jutsu coming soon! By the way, the entire format of this post is thanks to Hatake Hiroshi, whose Yanagawa Clan information is an excellent model for anyone who wants to write up a Clan thread.
Those born into the Takamura Clan share rather specific physical traits. They have very thick black hair, which is always kept tied back. While clan members choose how they prefer to wear their hair, the styles are always fairly similar to the other clan members'. Original or strange hairstyles are rare, as there are more important thigns to the Takamura than one's hairstyle. Their natural skin tone is fair, though of course some members are more tanned than others, depending on individuals' predisposition to spending time out in the sun. Eye color can be quite varied despite its lack of true 'color': the eyes of Takamura Clan members can range from almost black, through various shades of gray and silver, to a gray so pale it's nearly white. Members tend to be tall but not excessively so, though some take longer to hit their growth spurts than others. Body type, build, and so on are highly varied among individuals, while facial characteristics – high cheekbones; slanted, almond-shaped eyes; and prominent noses – are shared by anyone born into the clan.
All members of the Takamura Clan (excepting those who are related by marriage, of course) also share the clan's trademark agility, reflexes, and keen vision. The same gene that gives them such sharp vision, however, has also made anyone born into the clan completely colorblind. In order to reflect this – or perhaps just to make shopping for clothes easier; no one really knows – the Takamura always dress in nothing but shades of black, white, and gray.
Members of the Takamura Clan have chakra levels that vary between individuals as much as size does – one member may have embarrassingly little chakra, while another could have levels as high as any of the Sound's elite shinobi. This matters little, however, as the Takamura use very little Ninjutsu and almost no Genjutsu at all – in fact, their super-sensitive vision makes them particularly weak against sight-based Genjutsu. Their chakra affinities are predominantly Wind, and while occasionally an Earth or Lightning user will surface, this is pretty rare.
Because of their superior vision and other physical traits, members of the Takamura clan prefer to take a more “traditional” approach to battle. Rather than getting fancy with high-powered jutsu and the like, a Takamura chooses to keep it simple, using one of two dominant fighting styles practiced by the clan.
The first, and most common, is that of a Taijutsu specialist. The practicioners of this art practice close-range combat almost exclusively, and are at a disadvantage against long-range fighters. While some choose to use weapons such as swords, staves, etc., most tend to use hand-to-hand combat, with perhaps the addition of a kunai or dagger now and then.
The second style is that of marksman (or woman). These shinobi are specially trained in long-range arts such as Archery to eliminate foes from a distance.
