Origins
The Hitsuatsu have existed in Konoha for some time, having stemmed from the Tenyuu Clan, which has always lived in Fire Country. A large portion of the clan, however, moved to Hidden Leaf after several members expressed an interest in the 'art' of shinobi. By this time, they had already established a name in the artistic circuit, and had become rather bored with the posh lifestyle they had been living.
After relocating and using a large sum to have a new Clan Grounds built, they settled into their new home. All was not peaches and cream, however, as the first generation to attempt the Academy failed miserably, leading the root Tenyuu Clan to disown the 'disgraces' at the wishes of the Elder. Egos bruised, but not beaten, the newly established Hitsuatsu Clan strived all the harder in their goal to produce at least ONE fine shinobi from their ranks.
After the first round of failure at the Academy, the clan as a whole took a step back to analyze and learn where they were lacking. It was decided that they were just not a physically imposing people, which was causing the bulk of their problems. Thus, a leaner, stronger Hitsuatsu began to emerge from the clan grounds, and these faired much better, but still by no means 'powerhouses'.
Time continued to pass, and while a few shinobi were born, the clan still produced far more talented artists. It was then that the current elders recieved the enlightened notion to find a way to bridge their natural artistic talents to their budding shinobi talents. It took many years of hard work for any results to appear however, and several generations devoted their time to the study and experimentation before the Hitsuatsu Techniques were finally ready for useage.
Hitsuatsu Clan Traits
Generation after generation of talented, dedicated artists had an unlikely effect on the Clan, being that all born into the Clan are...so to speak..."aesthetically pleasing", in laymans terms, really frickin' pretty. Many a Hitsuatsu has led a double life as both artist and model. The Clan is also currently under watch by the higher authorities due to their unique techniques, and an unusual trait that has begun to emerge in more recent generations, believing this to be the precursor to the birth of a Bloodline. The prime example of this is Hitsuatsu Ryuurei, whose blood turns into ink shortly after it leaves his body.
Chakra Levels/Affinities and Fighting Styles
The Hitsuatsu Clan posseses an average chakra level, only slightly higher than what would be expected from such a 'young' shinobi-producing clan.
Affinities vary from person to person, no set 'standard' affinity has been recorded, however it has been noticed that the clan RARELY produces anyone with a water-chakra affinity. And by rarely, I mean 'has yet to produce even ONE'.
There has yet to be a distinctive fighting style for the Clan, as they tend to assume more supportive roles in such situations. It is however noted that the past few Hitsuatsu to graduate from the Academy have displayed a proficiency with polearm-class weaponry.
Clan Jutsus
The Hitsuatsu Clan's prized techniques vary in both name and effect depending on the individual's artistic medium of choice, but function very similarly regardless. For example, the case of Hitsuatsu Ryuurei;
Artistic Field: Kanboku-do(Brush and Ink Style)- A painter by nature, Ryuurei utilizes various inks, paints, and brushes to achieve the desired effects.
Jutsus
Kengen no Jutsu (Manifestation Technique)Genin class: By channeling chakra into their artwork, a Hitsuatsu can temporarily bring it into existence. E.g, drawing a kunai to throw or cut something when one is not handy.
Suraisu no Inki(Ink Slice)Chunin: A strange technique, by slashing at an object with a 'loaded' brush and funneling chakra appropriately, it transforms the substance, not neccessarily ink, into a bladed projectile. The more chakra inputed, the more powerful the 'slice'.
Tengachi no Jutsu(Divine Artistry Technique)Chunin-Jounin: Considered to be the penultimate Hitsuatsu technique. Through incredible chakra manipulation and utilizing the full extent of their creative prowess, the user can temporarily affect the world with their art. E.g: While fleeing from persuers, a gorge looms ahead, far too wide to cross. Using Tengachi, Ryuurei could create a bridge to allow his companions to traverse safely.
Side notes: It has been noticed that Kanboku-do has an incredible weakness to water and water-type jutsu. This, of course, only stands to reason.
Clan Customs
Very few notable customs have emerged from the clan as of yet, and it is doubtful that many will. The only publicly noted custom of the Hitsuatsu is the seasonal Muse's Festival. Internally, it is customary for the parents to provide their child with his or her first set of tools once their artistic talent has been identified.
Muse's Festival: At the turn of each season, the Clan Grounds are opened to the public, bidding all who wish to do so enter. The Festival is generally a joyous time for the clan, as they get to share their love of the Arts with anyone who wishes to view their works. Turnouts are generally low, as fine art is an acquired taste, but the numbers have increased over the years since a tiny handful of Culinary Artists have appeared amongst the Clan, a much more...palettable artform for the general public. The Festival has also been known to attract art dealers and collectors to Konoha, providing a little extra business for the Inns, shops, etc.
