Uh. Spoilers. What? What was that? I didn't say anything. Sh-shu-sha-shu-shuushhh.
Since I never said it, I really liked this one. I don't think it had the same sort of ... feel as the last one. Epic, I guess? That sounds ridiculous considering it's a movie about Davey Jones and a freakin' KRAKKEN ... but that's just how I felt. This, by the way, may be due to the FREAKING ANTICLIMAX CURSE YOU PEOPLE AND YOUR SUSPENSE I HATE YOU.
<3
Hm.
Okay. Jack Sparrow. Jack was cool, but that's to be expected. He wasn't quite as cool/clever as he was in the first one, but then ... he did have some issues. The last one he wasn't quite in as much trouble. XD It was also fun to see Will being awesome, since he was still sort of all like "zomg I'm a twit" for most of the first.
Stupid barnacle-face. XD Also, octupi are nasty. And Davey Jones is a squiddy-squiddy-squidhead! *throws stuff at him*
Norrington made me sad. I felt like at the end of the first movie he had a lot of potential to sort of loosen up, or at least become less of a jerk. I mean, the movie ended on, "Oh, I think we can afford to give him one day's head start." And then the next thing we know he's turned into Gibbs as seen previously.
The irony is not lost on me, obviously. Gibbs and Norrington were both men of the fleet, but I think what's being ignored here is the stark contrast in their characters. Gibbs was always kind of a drunken lunatic. He was a freakin' nutjob (see beginning of Black Pearl XD). But Norrington was always pragmatic and we never really saw him drinking. Losing the
Interceptor was bad, as was letting Jack Sparrow go... but the man was a Commodore, not a random soldier. He had the power to make decisions, and someone as intelligent as Norrington should have and
would have thought of a way to make his superiors understand his reasoning.
Then again, there was that business of the hurricane. As well as the fact that Norrington is a highly moral man, not to mention he seems like the type who would punish
himself for shortcomings. Sigh. I suppose in the end I can accept what they did to him, but I don't have to like it. It's sorta nice to see him without the wig?
Commodore James Norrington, we knew you well. We wish you wouldn't have abandoned your morals just because one pirate #%@#&! you over. Still, you have another movie to redeem yourself. Rephrase: the writers have another movie to redeem themselves before I murder them in their sleep.
I hate Elizabeth.
I could blame Norrington's plight on Elizabeth... ^^
But I won't.
Uhh... yeah. Tia Dalma was fun. Bad teeth. And yay for Barbosser. The scene at the end ... was... not worth waiting through all the credits to see. XD Funny, but not worth it.
That's all, I guess. BRING BACK JACK. D:
Is it next summer yet?
