Oh man, I love Adams! His books were so great. RIP, man. I loved the Hitchhiker's book series, but the movie was sadly lacking in my opinion... I just don't think it captured the right feel. Don't get me wrong, there were a few enjoyable moments, but the rest seemed to stray too far. I'd also like to know exactly how much of the script he wrote, because it just wasn't up to snuff at all. Well, anyway, that's just me. I'm a harsh critic, especially where movie adaptations are concerned.

[glow=red,2,300]MILD SPOILERS IN THIS POST! DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE![/glow]Oh man, I love Adams! His books were so great. RIP, man. I'm a lover of Adams, myself! (Stunning, that people here are so awesome...) Yeah, I found the movie lacking in many ways, but it was sufficiently funny that I didn't spend the usual amount of time criticising it. (i.e., in Star Wars, Episode III, the intro battle scene shows a bunch of droids attacking Obi-Wan's ship. They slide off his wings, as though there's some kind of friction or resistance in space. OMG.) My favorite parts in the movie, which made me laugh the hardest, was one: When they activate the improbability drive, and are all made of yarn. That was a riot. And two, when the narrator is explaining how, if only we knew what was going through the bowl of petunia's head, we'd know some of life's great mysteries, in the background, you hear the petunia bowl hit the ground. For some reason, the timing on that was hysterically funny. Well... that's all from me.

*Minor movie spoilers* It's official, Dakk, you and I are connected at the brainstem. Definitely the yarn bit and the narration by Stephen Fry was awesome. The parts where he narrated for the guide and the whole whale/bowl of petunias moment were my favorite. (And sadly that magnitude of humor was few and far between in the movie.) Other than that, the acting seemed a bit shoddy, and the alterations were a far cry from the original feel of the book. Like Arther and Trillian's relationship, or Zaphod's character in general, or the way Ford ended up feeling a bit stupid. *End spoliers*
