It looks pretty interesting. I wanna see it. I'm just trying to decide wether I want to see it in theatres or just wait and rent it...

I'm kinda excited about it. I've never read the books myself, so I'm kinda looking forward to it. Even if they kill the books, I won't know. Ignorance is bliss!

Yeah...that's the only thing I'm worried about...because the books were freaking awesome.

I saw it a little while ago. It was really good.
Sure it strayed away from the books a wee bit...all the good parts remain intact. The overall feel of the movie is fabulously funny.
See this flick as soon as possible.
Even before you see Episode III, see this movie!

I've never read the books, but I saw it. It was pretty weird and funny. How was it compared to the books?

Douglas Adams himself wrote much of the screenplay before he died. So even though I haven't seen it yet, I know I can enjoy it even if it strays from the books since the author wrote the screenplay.

I haven't seen it yet, but I've been trying to finish the books. It was something I wanted to read for a couple years, then finally managed to get my hands on it. It's taken me like a month and a half, and I'm not quite finished. That's not reading every day, mind you, but still.
Long freakin' book. I borrowed the one from Dia that has all of Douglas Adam's Hitchhiker-related stories in it.
But, yeah. I can't wait until it comes out on video and I can see it... ;D
EDIT: I FINALLY SAW IT!! ^_^

^____^
It was so great.... I didn't really mind the fact it strayed from the books 'cause it was so darn COOL. XD Honestly ... there's no way they could ever put everything or even most of the book in a movie... it'd be a year long. XD

Your wish is my command, Dia-chan! Some of my favorite HHGTTG quotes. ^_^ I posted these on my Open Diary a few days ago. They're mostly from the book but of course some of them were in the movie, too.
"Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so." -Ford Prefect
"If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it caught and shot now." -Zaphod Beeblebrox
"Hey this is terrific!" he said. "Someone down there is trying to kill us!" -Zaphod Beeblebrox
"Come on," he droned, "I've been ordered to take you down to the bridge. Here I am, brain the size of a planet and they ask me to take you down to the bridge. Call that job satisfaction? 'Cos I don't." -Marvin the Paranoid Android
"Life. Don't talk to me about life." -Marvin
"Oh no, not again." -A bowl of petunias
"OK, so ten out of ten for style, but minus several million for good thinking, yeah?" -Zaphod Beeblebrox
"For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after a second or so, nothing continued to happen."
"One of the things Ford Prefect had always found hardest to understand about humans was their habit of continually stating and repeating the very very obvious, as in It's a nice day, or You're very tall, or Oh dear you seem to have fallen down a thirty-foot well, are you all right?"
"If human beings don't keep exercising their lips, he thought, their mouths probably seize up. After a few months' consideration and observation he abandoned this theory in favor of a new one. If they don't keep exercising their lips, he thought, their brains start working." -Ford Prefect
"'You'd better prepare yourself for the jump into hyperspace. It's unpleasantly like being drunk.' 'What's so unpleasant about being drunk?' 'You ask a glass of water.'" -Ford Prefect/Arthur Dent
"That's it,' said Zaphod with the sort of grin that would get most people locked away in a room with soft walls."
"Hi there! This is Eddie, your shipboard computer, and I'm feeling just great, guys, and I know I'm just going to get a bundle of kicks out of any program you care to run through me." -Eddie the Computer
"The answer to the Great Question...' 'Of Life, the Universe and Everything...' said Deep Thought. 'Is...' said Deep Thought, and paused. 'Is...' 'Forty-two,' said Deep Thought, with infinite majesty and calm."
"The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't."
"I went mad for a while. Did me no end of good." -Ford Prefect
"My capacity for happiness,' he added, 'you could fit into a matchbox without taking out the matches first." Marvin
"Now the world has gone to bed, Darkness won't engulf my head, I can see by infrared, How I hate the night.
Now I lay me down to sleep, Try to count electric sheep, Sweet dream wishes you can keep, How I hate the night." -Marvin
"Listen, three eyes,' he said, 'don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal." -Zaphod Beeblebrox
"In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
"The Guide says that there is an art to flying or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss."
"Ford, you're turning into a penguin. Stop it." -Arthur Dent
"I'd far rather be happy than right any day." "And are you?" "No, that's where it all falls down, you see." "Pity, it sounded like quite a good lifestyle, otherwise." -Slartibartfast/Arthur Dent
"I am so amazingly cool you could keep a side of meat in me for a month. I am so hip I have difficulty seeing over my pelvis." -Zaphod Beeblebrox
"You're a jerk, Dent. A complete kneebiter." -Wowbagger
"There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened."
"So long, and thanks for all the fish." -Dolphins
