Alrighty then, two issues I'd like to address.
One, If naruto is so awsome, why don't I like the Shounen Jump english version?
To anyone who reads it who's also read the translations by Inane, the differences are monumental!
Technique names are all now in english (and the names all suck!) They use Japanese when it is uncalled for (The Konohagakure village....um, gakure means village. You're just repeating yourself!)
I have many other major problems with the shoddy english dub of naruto manga. Does anyone agree with me?
Okay, second issue!
Because I've spent so much time reading the Shounen Jump Naruto (still not sure why...) I've noticed that Kishamoto's art has really progressed!
Looking back on early chapters, especially in the chunin exam, the art was...not as great as I remember it.
Maybe I'm just spoiled with the wonderful naruto anime, but looking at chapters now, Kishamoto's action sequences today are way cooler than they were a few years ago!
So a mix of the good and the bad I guess.
Thoughts? Comments? Sharp objects about to be thrown at me?

Just on a sidenote, adding "gakure" on the end of something meams "hidden." So, konohagakure = hidden leaf. ^^
I only have one thing to say to SHounen Jump:
WHAT THE HECK DID YOU DO TO MY FAVORITE SERIES?
I mean, "art of the valentine?" Come on! (o.O);;;
And I've noticed the thing with the early manga and anime too. Also, you'll notice that Naruto looks so much YOUNGER in the early series! It's kinda creepy.

oops my mistake...um, geez, I ranted quite a bit about that. It would make sense that he looks younger early on tho, wouldn't it? I mean, not everything happened all at once.

I read some of the manga and it seemed pretty... lame. Which is why I never actually liked the series until Kaori was all "I LOVE NARUTO" and I was all "okay..." and she was like "watch!" and I was like "okay...."
Yeah. Who knew.

Same
My best friend was into naruto for the longest time,
I just dismissed it as another action anime, not worth my interest.
Then I downloaded the first few chapters...
...and now, here we are.

Yes, yes we do. *pays homage to K-Chan*
So, when you read Shounen Jump, did you see the first chapter of Naruto, or something else? I read the one where Kakashi was testing them to be Genins.

In all honesty... ...that was the first time I had ever even seen Naruto... was in that vol of SJ, where Kakashi was testing them! weird Almost a year later, I started reading the manga downloads.

I found a copy of SJ in the store and bought it. A friend (who has yet to join the forums) was telling me how great it was, so Naruto was one of the first manga I read in that issue - it was when Kakashi was teaching Team #7 how to do the treewalking training. A couple days later I got a huge CD full of manga, and here we are.
