So pain can switch bodies,New body looks like it has a bunch of buttons on his face, pressing them does stuff? Jiraiya burns Konans paper, and looks like next chapter is a fight

I was quite intrigued by this chapter, to be honest. So it appears that Pain and Konan aren't Rain shinobi at all, as we have been led to believe. And is it just me, or does Pain's new body look a heck of a lot like Deidara? Weird.

I was thinking the same thing, K-chan.
Maybe it actually IS Deidara's body... I would've thought that perhaps after the angry Spongebob explosion (go cactus!) Deidara's body would've been completely destroyed....
...in which case....

I quite liked the chapter myself... I found it got boring because right when it was starting to focus on Sasuke and Naruto.... bam! Straight to Jiraiya. And really, who cares?
lol.
But apart from that... notice how Konan and Pain refer to him as Jiraiya-sensei? Team-mates of Minato's, perhaps?

That's why I said that maybe they aren't Rain ninja at all. From the looks of it, they're actually from Konoha.
I'll bet you the next chapter is a flashback, though. That'll be kinda nice, to get some more backstory on these guys.

One gripe I have...is of JIRAIYA HIDING IN THE SHADOW OF THE DUDE. 'Cos, that's like, Kagetokeru!... only without the cool fog-like effect. I feel so ripped off. XD

Tch. At least your original ability is in the manga, instead of a stupid filler arc.  I like the flashbacks. I could care less about Sasuke and Naruto right now, to be perfectly frank. Because Sasuke and Naruto would be twenty chapters of DBZ-esque fighting with random explosions and a bunch of Sasuke emo whining. I want storyline. I want something I can actually sink my teeth into. Flashbacks and plot development have that way more than "I R T3H UCHIHA OF DEATH MY CHIDORI PWNS J00." Or something to that effect. |

I found this chapter to be rather interesting. I'm getting really excited to learn about Konan and Pain's pasts and their relationship to Jiraiya. SUSPENSE! I'm kinda wondering what's gonna happen with Naruto/Sasuke, but right now, the whole Jiraiya thing is much more intriguing.

No, we just like storyline developments. After all this runaround with Sasuke, I'm actually surprised more people aren't excited about the plot actually moving for once. ^^; |
