It has been brought to my attention (and I've noticed this myself too) that I need to talk to you all about spoilers. I admit that I do this too, but I'm trying to break that habit. Anyways, that's what this gentle reminder is for. Guys and gals, please remember that not all our members have seen/read all that Naruto has to offer, and people don't tend to enjoy blatant spoilers right there on the page for all to see. That's why I'm officially instating [glow=red,2,300]The Spoiler Rule[/glow]:
From now on, if you think that something you're talking about would give away something in the series to members who haven't gotten that far, I'm asking that you please put a spoiler warning at the top of your post (I'm not talking for everything, but I think you all have good enough judgment to know when it's necessary). Talking about the manga in the general Naruto boards especially seems to have this negative side effect. I created separate boards for the anime and the manga for a reason. If you wish to talk about specific events in the anime - Episode 121 or something, for example - put it in those boards with some kind of title that lets people know what part of the series you'll be talking about, so anyone who doesn't want spoilers and hasn't seen that yet can choose not to read. It's the same with the manga - events that have happened only in the manga, even if they're about to happen in the anime, go in the manga boards with some sort of spoiler warning in the title. The General Naruto boards should be enjoyable to everyone without having to worry about spoilers.
PLEASE remember to do this. I don't really have to put my foot down with you guys, which I really appreciate, but sometimes it has to be done. I don't want to go through and edit everyone's posts so they contain spoiler warnings (yes, I can do that) - because I will, and I will say something about it if I have to do this on a continuous basis. Okay? I don't wanna be mean to you guys, but it's really not fair that some of our members can't fully enjoy the boards due to the danger of spoilers around every corner. I also authorize any and all moderators, present and future, to enforce this rule (including editing posts to add spoiler warnings if they have to) and poke anyone who doesn't follow it. I'm also putting a copy of this in some of the other boards to make sure everyone sees it.
Thanks, everyone. I know I can count on you to help me out here. You're a great bunch. ^_^
NOTE: I'm sure it wouldn't be as bad on the Cosplay Boards anyways, but it could still happen, so I'm posting it here too.
