Just to nip any off-topic-ness in the bud, all Pokemon discussion goes HERE, not in the "Dattebayo Is Not, In Fact, Dropping Naruto" thread. Thank you.

POKEMON!
I'm ashamed to admit it...but I loved to catch them all.
Pokemon's changed though...it's not as cool as I remember.
It's too cute...not monster enough

I must say though, I rather like seeing it in Japanese. XD It's rather addicting.

I used to LOVE pokemon. it used to be AWESOME. the manga ROCKED. ash was kind of a perv, and misty...well...she was a girl in puberty. the pokemon looked incredible. and the first few games had a lot of great content. tragically though it's become a zombie. it died a long time ago but won't admit it. and it's become all 4kids-afied >=( You know how much of a cosplay/artis/pokemon freak I used to be? I used to make my own pokemon action figures out of paper-clips, blocks, toothpicks, those twisty tie things from grocery stores, hot glue and paint, mostly acrilic. and you know what? they looked very cool. especially my gyarados and charizard. it was like pre-historic cosplay work for me. If someone reminds me, i'll take/post some pics.

You should! It'd be fun.
And while the 4Kids version definitely passed its prime quite some time ago, the Japanese version seems to be doing fine - at least, as far as I can tell from seeing one episode.

I haven't watched it in a good, long while .... and I've never had the opportunity to see it in Japanese. I used to be obsessed, though. I drew Pikachu and Jigglypuff all over my notes. Man. That was like, junior high. I even had a Pokemon fan character and I was making up a really crappy doujin. ^_^
NO. It well never see the light of day. Don't even ask. (I actually don't even know where it is even if you got me to fold XD)

I would like to see the fan character, though. ^^
And if you wanna see the Japanese, just go get it from Dattebayo. XD

Lol maybe I will.
My OC was an Eevee trainer with blue hair in a semi-Usagi odango style. XD I don't remember her name, though.

No way! I once created a fictitious Eevee trainer! She raised all its different evolutions.... I actually played that out in Pokemon Coliseum on the 64. It worked quite well. X3

But Eevee is like...one of a kind. You can't have more than one eevee, cos there is only one eevee...

I remember when I was a kid, I had all the eevees in my computer because I knew how to clone pokemon. lol I've been obsessive compulsive ever since I was a kid. Whenever I caught a rare pokemon that didn't seem like it was strong enough to be worthy of my party. ( like snorlax ) I always kept it in the box without ever putting it in a battle, so its experience would be 0. In one of the pokemon manga, there was an eevee that had a computer chip installed behind its ear by team rocket that allowed it to transform into any of its evolutions temporarily. It was a wild eevee basically that was harassing Erika. I really wish someone could convince Satoshi Tajiri to pick up the manga again... btw it is confirmed that eevee has new evolutions: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leafiaen.wikipedia.org/wiki/GlaciaIt now has a form for almost every element. All it's missing is fighting, poison, steel, ground, rock and flying. It seems a lot of the original pokemon have recieved evolutions in the latest series of diamond and pearl. Magmar, electabuzz, tangela, lickitung and magneton have evolved also en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Booburnen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elekibleen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mojanboen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dosidonen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berobelten.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jibacoillickitung and mr. mime have pre-evolutions en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinpukuen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mime_Jr. There are others that are second generation and beyond that have received evolutions and pre-evolutions but they don't matter Speaking of all of these all poke-memories: I remember when me and my friends used to conjecture that certain pokemon were dragons, and if there were third elements they would have the dragon element. included among these were charizard, gyarados, etc. mainly the ones that LOOKED dragon-like and most often they could use dragon rage. another cool eevee thing: what if eevee had a regular evolution? wouldn't it look cool? also, shouldn't it be kind of like mew and be able to use all elements? I remember where used to be a website that was run by a couple of doctors fresh out of medschool that wanted to put their knowledge to the test and display their love of pokemon by putting up articles that were written under surnames such as professor oak. these articles covered how pikachu used electricity and charmander used fire, in ways that closest represented the reality of what these creatures would be like in real life. I submitted a couple articles myself which they liked and put up. keeping in mind that I was like 13 or 14 I think that's pretty cool What I covered were the legendary birds and whatnot. What inspired my article was a discovery channel feature on cryptids such as the ancient bird known as argentinus (its full name escapes me) it's theorized that it could be the Thunderbird of native american legend as its migratory path could have put it just ahead of the stormy season across America because the winds ahead of the storms allowed for easier flight. It was large enough to prey on bison, and its appearance just before storms would have been reason enough for it to become the thunderbird; especially with such ginormous proportions. Another article was based on the evolution of inanimate object pokemon such as voltorb. My third article was on the evolution of all pokemon based on mew. essentially stating that mew was the original transforming pokemon, with ditto being a direct evolution (in scientific terms rather than pokemon terms) essentially ditto would disguise themselves based on their environment. be it rock, fire, plant etc. and some would change into plants more often than others. sometimes crossbreeding with different animals or plants resulting in the pokemon dna code being passed on in different ways.
