Lovely Complex (description from community.livejournal.com/mangacast/504417.html):KOIZUMI Risa (Risa) and OOTANI Atsushi (Otani, Acchan) both have last names that don’t resemble their height. (Koi = small or short, Oo = big or tall.) Risa is a sloppy girl, often found sleeping and sneezing, despite the fact that she's very tall and anyone can see her doing it. Meanwhile Otani is the normal next-door-neighbor boy, except that he is very short. ^_^; Both are insecure about their height, nevertheless, they still enjoy their school days. They do not have a very good relationship in the beginning, constantly bullying over each other. Their classmates and teachers think they're funny by saying they look like All Hanshin-Kyojin—a duo comedian, consisting of a tall guy and a short guy. Due to her height, Risa finds it hard to meet the man of her dreams. This also happens for Otani. No matter how hard they tried, it seems like their match isn't the one they're after. In despair of their love life future, both become close and supportive. Risa soon realizes that Otani is the one she likes. However, Risa's struggle to steal Otani's heart is like trying to move a mountain. Why? Because he is so dense! And that is not all, there are many people that stand in the way leading to her happiness: Seiko—the cheerleader, Mimi—the magazine model, Haruka—the gorgeous boy, Otani’s ex-girlfriend and even Risa's perverted grandfather! ========================================= Claymore (description from www.basugasubakuhatsu.com/blog/2007/04/03/claymore-anime-first-impressions)CLAYMORE is set in some fantasy universe where there are humans, youma, and claymore. Humans are humans, y’know, like you and me (hopefully). Youma are monsters, and claymore are half youma, half humans. Claymore are always female, and apparently it’s their job to exterminate youma, because humans are too wimpy to do it themselves. One particular claymore, Clare, has just entered a town where a youma murder has occurred! One of the victim’s relatives, Raki, develops a sort of fascination with Clare and follows her around town. She saves his life not once, but twice in this episode! The first time at his house when he gets ambushed, and later on in the forest. The second battle is particularly gruesome since the youma sticks her arm through Clare’s stomach! Ouch! She seems to have some kind of super healing factor, so no harm, no foul I guess. At the end of the episode, Clare decides to let Raki follow her around some more

Claymore is an incredibly awesome anime and I would put it right up there with Tengen Toppen Gurren Lagann as far as epic-ness goes.

I've read a couple episodes of the Claymore manga. While the art style kinda gives me the heebie-jeebies for whatever reason, I'd definitely look into exploring the series more, given the chance.

Yea, the series really has that eerie lanky/artsy layout, and plus they do a really good job of making the yoma look very creepy, but so far it has had a really good storyline. It is one of those series where kool stuff happens all time while you feel that something really big is gonna happen the whole time and eventually will.
