Yahoo.
This chapter was cool.
The first part (Naruto reading his new little book) was nice. Especially when you see the boy cry... it's kinda heartwarming. You know he's thinking "Nawww, I should've been nicer to him". I'd say Kishimoto nailed this part nicely.
It's also kinda nice to see the further ties between the Sannin and the nu-Sannin, as Jiraiya explained. Coming together... slowly.......
The second part, Sasuke delivering Hachibi to Madara and discussing things with Tobi... I also kinda liked. All the sudden losses of Akatsuki made me wonder how on earth they're going to seal the tailed beast though.... after all, didn't it take multiple days for all of the Akatsuki members to seal each of the beasts? Now there's like.... only a couple left. So unless Team Hawk are going to help out - or if Tobi's the absolute king and is going to super Madara on us or something... man, it's going to take such a long time to seal. lol
I think it's kinda cool how Sasuke's so naffed off... and is just, madly out for vengeance. The only thing cooler than someone with ultra-powers is someone with ultra-powers that wants to blow things up (unless his name is Pain). Maybe I'm just looking forward to the large amounts of death and explosions his vengeance will bring.
The third part, the whole Raikage thing.... was a complete waste of my time. Beh. It feels like Kishimoto's trying to pry open a filler arc into the main story or something. Hopefully there'll actually be some use to Raikage, other than fodder for Akatsuki.

Iunno. I thought Sasuke was a little too emo for my liking in this chapter. Ironic, because Naruto was the one doing the crying XD. I just think the whole vendetta thing is a little over reacting. OMG! My brother (one person) died because of the village. EVERYONE MUST DIE!
As for your comment there Mazzy...keeping in mind Madara himself can control Kyuubi. So I dare say something lower than Kyuubi should be no problem.
But yes, I did enjoy this chapter too. Seeing the Fourth in action, looking so much like his son, using Kage Bunshin. Talking big like his son. Was kinda cool...

only difference between yondaime and naruto are the kyuubi markings
kind of strange no one has bothered to tell naruto that hes the son of the 4th hokage maybe not alot of people know? but how could they not if he told everyone that he wanted naruto to be the hero of the people.

I don't know. I always thought Naruto was more overreacting than Sasuke.
Naruto: DON'T GO I'LL BREAK UR FRICKIN' LEGS. Sasuke: ...I'm going to get vengeance on my brother. Naruto: I DON'T WANT YOU TO GO SO I'MA SMASH YOUR FACE TO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GO.
I'll agree that Sasuke's hatred is a LITTLE overbearing... but highly understandable. Given how much Itachi meant to Sasuke (pre-destruction and post-revelation), his quest for vengeance actually makes sense. It's less about the fact that one person died... and more about the fact that it was his brother.
If, because of an entire village, someone you really, truly deeply cared about was killed... who wouldn't long for vengeance? It takes a special sort of human being to be able to shrug something like the death of a very close loved one off... especially were something or someone in particular to blame. Sure, his vengeance against Itachi was more direct than his vengeance against Konoha... but, well, Sasuke has a point.
I know that if I'd lost someone truly dear to me... I'd do anything within my power to avenge them somehow. And for a very select people (might even be person), such an event would be so life-changing, I'd even go out of my way for revenge - perhaps even focus my broken life around it. When any man seeks vengeance, I daresay it becomes his main focus... everything he thinks about, all else be damned. Justice (of which vengeance is a form of) is one of all man's greatest desires. Of course, once he has his revenge, it usually leaves him feeling empty - just ask Maiev Shadowsong. But, until that point...
... more than anyone else in the whole series, Sasuke's human.
(By the way, I don't think the book is actually about the Fourth. I think the book is actually about the Naruto character that Minato Namikaze named his son after. So technically... Naruto's reading about himself. Which is why it's so cool. XD)

This chapter....Good and bad. Still ticked Killerbee was wiped so 'easily' when he was pwning so hard at first.
The Legend of the Gutsy Ninja...I really like it. Also, when you think about it, it really kinda cements Naruto as the 'Child of Prophecy' Jiraiya was supposed to have found. The book, while it may be an odd form for one, is in fact the Prophecy. Minato would have probably wound up naming his son whatever the title character was named. Naruto's attitude, his obtaining Kage Bunshin...probably all part and parcel of the prophecy. So yeah, I have to agree, he's reading about himself.
As per usual, I disliked Sauceke's pagetime. Okay, admittedly, it'd ROYALLY suck to be in his shoes, but he's seriously overdoing things. I can see wanting to wipe out the people responsible for what his brother was ordered to do, etc., but taking out the whole gosh-darn village is, perfectly summed up, OVERKILL. Way to be a Dbag, Sauce.
And let's not forget he got all this information from Tobi/Madara. It's perfectly possible for him to have LIED about the whole d**n thing to make Sauce wanna wipe Konoha out, thus saving him the trouble of doing so for whatever no-doubt-sinister plot he's got going on.
Mosh out.

Yeah. I have to admit, I like reading more about this gutsy ninja than the actual Naruto... but it gives me hope that someday, Naruto will be really cool. Plus, if ever Kishimoto longs to ruin his series and there's a Naruto Part III... we've got a sneak preview at what our hero would look like. XD
You know, more than anything... it'd tick me off majorly if Tobi/Madara was lying to Sasuke. It'd be worse than the Itachi/Sasuke genjutsu battle that never actually happened. It'd be cool for the big explosion jutsu of death... but that's about it.
Catch you next chapter, Mosh. XD

If, because of an entire village, someone you really, truly deeply cared about was killed... WRONG! Was the head honchos. Those three people. So there. So, because 3 people made him do what he did, he's taking it out on the whole village because 'they enjoy the peace from the sacrifice'. THAT is my bone of contention. Sure, if he just killed those involved, fine. But EVERYONE including Woman, Children and Old men? Excessive. And Maiev Shadowsong was a chick XP. I do get what you mean about vengeance, but as I said. He's going a bit overboard... Didn't think about it as Naruto reading about himself. I just thought Jiraiya would be writing about events he's seen in the past, and they're much like the Naruto we know. Rather than a prediction of what Naruto could be like. Not denying what you're saying is in any way wrong, just totally off my train of thought. I also didn't think about Madara lying to Sasuke. That'd be kinda amusing, yet possible. Madara does want the village destroyed, and using Sasuke as a tool for his bidding wouldn't be past what I think Madara stands for.

Oh, I sorta see what you mean now... sorta. Personally, I wouldn't consider it overreacting... because it was the WHOLE village that Itachi died for - not just those three people. Sure, the three elders ordered him to do it... but it was a gift to the whole village.
Besides, if I wanted vengeance on the three at the top, I'd be happy to plow through the entire village - perhaps not necessarily going out of my way to kill every single living person, but if getting to them meant ripping a new one in the gates and tearing everything apart until I got them... yeah, I'd be up for that. Maybe I just don't believe in innocent people. Or maybe I'm just more evil than you guys. XD
I personally don't think Madara was lying to Sasuke. I'd expect it to happen, though. It'd basically be the worst ruining of any story ever. "Oh, by the way... one of the biggest plot twists I've thrown at you this whole series? LIES, ALL OF IT LIES, HAHA HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW? I PUT A PLOT TWIST ON YOUR STUPID PLOT TWIST, HAH!"
Don't get me wrong. Plot twists are okay... but when the author turns around and says "Don't listen to anything I've written in this whole chapter... or for the past five chapters, really", that's when I get annoyed.
Kishimoto'd be able to go work for Square-Enix if he did that.

So if Mayor Guppy and a few of his councilors decided to make someone kill off... Paul Swain's family, and then the brother of Paul Swain came along and killed everyone in Upper Hutt. Even though we knew nothing of it, you'd be cool with the brother comin' along and killing you, when you're just minding your business (And completely oblivious) in Upper Hutt?

Well if he killed everyone in Upper Hutt, I think that would invalidate any opinion I had. XD Personally, though, I'm getting tired of this argument. So... is it just me, or are the chapters starting to come out later? Usually I find someone's already started a thread when I wake up on Friday morning... but as of lately, I find the chapters aren't even available to read until a later time - I even had to start this thread late on Friday night. :-\ Maybe it's just OneManga taking it's time to update... unless of course, you all read from other sites... but me, personally, I read from OneManga ('cos it saves me having to download it for myself XD).

Well, I've found that OneManga tends to be one of the fastest out there (Getting the chapters up). The past couple of weeks have been slower though (Although this one wasn't so bad). However, if NarutoFan has theirs up early, I'll get it from them, in one zipped package.
