Got it right this time! XD
Well, that was an interesting chapter. I'm sure glad that Kakashi is alright though, I would be very disappointed (as I was with Jiraiya) if something were to happen to him. I guess that shows that he's not so much of a bad author if he makes you like certain characters.
Kakashi might have figured out what makes Pain so powerful. That'd be good. You know, I also liked the whole 'up yours' approach to the recon Pain's. Having Tsunade summon the slug (Don't know the name) again is getting rather exciting, and that we really haven't seen the scale of attack on Konoha like this since Orochimaru and the Sand. Man does that bring back memories. XD

Yeah, I agree. I'd feel pretty brassed off if Kakashi carked it this chapter. Perhaps given the right circumstances, it might be okay for him to die - with Jiraiya, while his death does upset some people, it was effective and I believe that it was actually right for him to die. Were Kishimoto to work on building up Kakashi's death, it might mean something. But I'd be right and royally naffed if Kishimoto just chose to impale him and leave it at that.
Having said that... I'm starting to think they're making him too powerful. It's not that I don't like Kakashi - I think he's cool. But is he so awesome as to be able to get a leg-up on THE SECOND MOST DANGEROUS AND POWERFUL PERSON IN THE ENTIRE NARUTO UNIVERSE? Surely that would make Kakashi basically the biggest asset Konoha has... their strongest ninja, as such, you know? If he can get the jump on Pain... I dunno. It just seems... kinda... wrong?
Either that or perhaps they're just making Pain super-weak. I mean, this guy's the leader of Akatsuki (even though he's getting his orders from Tobi). He's the kingpin.
Mind you... I guess he's not ENTIRELY defeated yet... XD

No, he's not even STARTED to have been defeated. Now, remember rightly Maz, when Sakura and Naruto were taking Kakashi on for the second time (for the bells), just after Naruto had got back from his 2 1/2 years away, they had huge difficulty in defeating him, why? He has a keener sense of smell than Kiba, smarter than Shikamaru, has the Sharingan. From memory, he was taught by the fourth, which leaves big hints that he has a high possibility of becoming the next Hokage (unless a certain blonde kid beats him to it XD)
But remember ALSO, that Jiraiya KILLED three of the Pain bodies...only to have them revived and the 6 paths of Pain come and waste him. Kakashi was going to run away until he could get help to fight just the one Pain alone, where Jiraiya fought more of them at once, so no...I don't think they've OP'ed him.

Yeah, that's true... I guess Jiraiya did take on all of the Pains at once. XD And Kakashi definitely isn't alone in taking on Pain... I guess it just seemed a bit weird that part of Pain has been smashed so early on in the battle. It's like :-\

I highly doubt that thing's down for the count. You can't even really call that a human anymore..
Sasori anyone?
And I don't think Kakashi's being Uber right now. Pain is really weak at the moment, I think. He's stretched his chakra out over pretty much the whole of Konoha, and Kakashi was only fighting 2 'Paths'. When Jiraiya was fighting, it was basically all 6 in close proximity. I really think that's Pain's weak spot.
Sure he can do everything basically, but the more you separate the whole, the weaker the parts are.

Idea:
We all kinda ate the Sage talk regarding Naruto like bread and butter; the fact that you have to be still/motionless to use it. Well, what's our protagonist's favourite technique...creating 'real bodies'. Perhaps like Rasengan, he could use a bunshin to be still and gather in natural energy, or visa versa, have himself gather the energy and channel it to a bunshin. He wouldn't need any froggy help then.
