A bit better than the last chapter. Man, Nagato really had it rough. Starting to see why he formed his opinions the way he did.
I'm really hoping the storytelling doesn't carry on for a ton longer, I could easily see this going as "And that's my story.." "I see...Now let me tell you mine.."

I have to say I actually have quite enjoyed the last few chapters. For two reasons: 1. Initially, when he was nothing but the biggest stick, Pain was pretty cool (I thought). Then, all of a sudden, he thought he was doing the world a favour by destroying it, and lost all credibility. While I still think Pain as a whole is stupid, Nagato (who for some reason I treat seperately) makes you feel... kinda sympathetic. It's been an interesting story, seeing what's happened to him and his tales of loss (with of course, the end of his 'second story' to come). And it's taken the story on a refreshing tangent I think it's needed for some time (like, since the beginning of Pain's destruction of Konoha). 2. To me, the most important thing about the past couple of chapters is that Naruto has greatly matured in his battle with Pain. I've always thought that Naruto was, too immature to be taken seriously, too retarded for his own good. But in his realisation that ripping things to pieces, killing Nagato in cold-blood and warring further with Hidden Rain won't solve anything, I have a deal more respect for Naruto. Sure, it seems a bit idealistic to take the diplomatic route, but his willingness to talk with his opponents and understand them, and a desire to truly end the cycle of hatred, shows a great maturity the character lacked before. With any luck, I'm looking forward to seeing how Kishimoto intends to finish this whole ordeal with Pain/Nagato. With a sense of understanding of his foe, I'd hate for Naruto to just, turned around and throw a Rasengan in Nagato's face. I mean, I'm sure the story can only continue with Nagato's death... but I'd like to see a less bloodier end to the conflict. If Kishimoto can keep it up, and prove that the maturity of the past few chapters won't be forgotten after a month.... I might honestly be able to think Naruto's a cool character; perhaps even enjoy him to the point you guys do. I still think Sasuke's alright though...
