Keitaro looked to his Jounin teacher. He thought over her request. Nada and Kameko had both stated the types of jutsu they used...as well as a general dislike of cucumbers and pickles...
He decided he wouldn't be outdone by pickle hating and the like.
"My name is Keitaro, Buyo Keitaro!" he said, regaining his zeal. "I like to read too...my family are Konoha's archiviers and librarians...but I wanted to be a shinobi. I also like stories...and historical stuff..."
he pondered about his dislikes...he wanted to say he didn't like being a boring archiver like his father or mother, but decided against it. Nada and Kameko had chosen simple dislikes...he figured that might be good too. A frightening thought occured to him.
"I...really dislike spiders..." he said at last, "they creep me out."
He adjusted his forehead protector slightly, he wanted to say more.
"Also...I..." he wondered how he could put it as to not reveal too much, "...I use paper."

Kaori nodded. Fire, speed, and paper.... already a few strategies involving those things played out in her mind. She liked this team; she hoped these kids would pass the test.
"My name is Tensei Kaori," she told them. She wondered if they had heard the name before. It was likely; her clan was a large one. "I'm a medical specialist, but I also use song and dance." This last statement was said with a wink; she couldn't help wonder what her team would think when they saw her perform. She loved using her clan's special jutsu more than most Tensei did, and she had laughed when she first heard the nickname it had earned her - the Siren of Konoha; though she had heard it changed to the Black Siren of Konoha by enemy shinobi. Now she wore the name with pride. "Well, I do do other things too, like make medicines - and a few deadlier concoctions - but that's pretty much the basics," she added. "For now." She winked again.
This was going to be interesting.

Tensei? That name sounded very familiar to Nada. She supposed it must be one of Konoha's larger clans. The girl listened with avid interest as Kaori explained her specialties. Nada didn't know any medical shinobi, and the thought of having one as a teacher and getting to learn about it was exciting.
Kaori seemed very fun to Nadameru so far--fun, but still no-nonsense. She liked that.
She couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next.

Keitaro's heart skipped a beat when he saw his sensei wink. He blushed ever so slightly. The mention of her name didn't help either. Being a history buff, Keitaro knew about the Tensei clan and their medical jutsu prowess. He also knew that Kaori Tensei was the heir to the clan, or at least one of them, so he imagined her skill has incredible.
He sat, transfized on his teacher, beaming with newfound respect...not to mention being more than just a little by her stunning good looks.
<OOC: Oh Kei-kun...you're such a goof...stop staring and swooning and concentrate ^^;; )

((OoC: Chibi Kei-kun!!!! <3 Soooo cute! ^^)) Kameko smiled broadly. A medical ninja! Her grandmother had been one, so she knew what it took. She herself didn't have the kind of chakra control necessary for the job. Her sensei must be really good at ninjutsu..... and a Tensei! She had heard of Konoha's music clan, but this was the first time she had met a member. This was going to be great! * * * * * * * "Right, then!" Kaori said. "Now, take a good look around." She gestured across the rooftop. There was the door that led back inside the building, a few trees whose upper branches came near the edge of the roof, an emergency fire escape that was folded up into its storage position, and plenty of open space. "You see?" When everyone nodded in the affirmative, Kaori grinned again. "Your first test is to meet me down there." She pointed to a large open space at the back of the building. "You may use any means to get down there, except-" she held up her finger to emphasize her point. "You may not simply walk - or run - downstairs. Understand?"

"You may not simply walk - or run - downstairs. Understand?"
Keitaro thought about his teacher's final words. He puzzled over them. Does she mean we can't walk at all? How're we gonna do this?
Keitaro thought of several solutions, each more impossible than the last. He decided he didn't have enough tools or the agility to leap all of the way to one of the trees, or the fire escape. He was standing in almost the dead centre of the roof.
No, she meant you just can't use the stairs, baka! he thought. Just find a way to get off of the building other than the stairs. Can i ask a question, maybe?
He opened his mouth to speak, but he noticed Nadamaru and Kameko standing near him, apparently thinking as well.
Maybe...they could work together?
He looked over to Nadamaru, and asked her what she thought.

"Hai!" Kameko answered to her sensei's question, then turned her thoughts inward She could use Shunshin no Jutsu, but she didn't think she would be able to get all the way down with it in a single leap. She couldn't go very far with it yet to begin with. Maybe she could take it in small bouts, not walking or running - but flickering. Yeah, that might work...... She turned to Nada-chan and Kei-kun, trying to see what they thought.

Nada frowned at her teacher's instructions, but nodded her understanding. Getting down to the ground without using the stairs? They were decently high up... and Nada could think of no techniques she was capable of performing that would be of any help.
She blinked as Kei asked her what she thought. "Rehh~...." She gave a few more glances around, then shrugged. "Well... I can't think of a way to do it by myself...." Shuffling over to the edge of the roof, she peered downward. Tugging on a pigtail, she glared at the ground, seeming so impossibly far away. "There has to be a way for us to do it together... somehow...."

"Well then, since you all understand....." Kaori waved. "See you at the bottom!" With that she disappeared in a puff of smoke, leaving the three Genin on the rooftop.
Momentary silence ensued on the rooftop, all of them staring at the place where their Sensei had just been standing. Then suddenly, Kameko blinked. "Tandemu!" she exclaimed. When her teammates gave her odd looks, she made a confused face, then realized that they might not know what she meant. "Tandemu Shunshin no Jutsu*," she explained. "Just like normal Shunshin no Jutsu - oh, Shunshin is a speed ninjutsu that's almost like teleportation - only the jutsu user brings one or more people with them. My big brother is an expert at it!" she said proudly. "He made it up himself." She then realized that she was rabbit trailing.
"Oh, anyways, I can't do all three of us at once, and I can't go far in one burst to begin with, but maybe I could bring us down through that tree, or the fire escape - if someone could get it unstuck," she said, sticking her tongue out at it - she had tried to release it as she talked, but the thing was so old that she couldn't get it to budge. "Talk about a safety hazard," she muttered. "Anyways! What do you two think?" she asked, bouncing up and down on her toes. "Think we could do it?"

Tandemu Shunshin no Jutsu? Keitaro thought. He had never heard of it before. It seemed a little sketchy to him, but Kameko seemed confident. He'd trust her.
"Okay, so we'll use that...but the fire escape is still pretty stuck. Also, don't forget that we need to get from here..." he pointed to the space Kaori-sensei had pointed to before, "...all the way over there! Once we hit the ground, we still can't walk or run..."
He thought for a moment. An idea seized his mind...it was crazy...even a bit dangerous, not to mention probably beyond his skill. Was it possible?
"Um...I...no, nevermind. It's no good." he mumbled.

Kameko bounced up and down eagerly. "What? What is it? What were you going to say?" She asked excitedly.

<OOC: Sorry I didn't elaborate in the OOC page, but I thought up a wicked idea for how to get the rest of the way using Keitaro's skills. However, it is pretty extravegant, and I want to hear what Kiri thinks first. I really like Kameko's idea and would hate to detract from it.
<Since Keitaro uses paper (and would have a fair amount on him with his books and everything) he might be able to create something to carry them the rest of the distance if Tandemo Shuushin doesn't take them the whole way. Something like...say, a paper airplane (straight out of R.O.D., forgive my unoriginality ^^;;
<If this sounds okay with any of you, let me know and I'll write it in, but I want to make sure I'm not gonna be stealing anyone's thunder or anything. I value you guys and want your characters to shine. ^^>

OoC: I like the idea. Sorry, I feel like totally dead weight right about now. Thought of a few ideas, but none of them were really good. But yeah. I'm cool with it... and I'll just change this to a real post after you do yours. Gonna be gone until Sunday, but I'll get to this ASAP, promise.

OOC: Nobody knows your techniques, Kiri...or, at least, I haven't read about them (and I looked too). I feel bad that you feel you can't do anything. I'm gonna post my idea, but rest assured I'll make time for Nada to show off her awesome skills, cuz I know you've got them hidden somewhere ^_~
Also, check out the Jutsu board in a bit to read about Keitaro's paper techniques.
Keitaro looked to Kameko. He hefted his backpack off the ground, letting it land on the tiled roof of their school building with a smack!
"Your technique..." he asked her, "how much could it transport? I think I might be able to carry us the rest of the way."
He waited eagerly for Kameko to answer, feeling that if it worked, they could certainly impress Kaori-sensei with some dazzling skill.
