((OoC: Because we have three people here speaking as a cohesive unit at times, I'll be attempting to use formatting to tell them apart. Spoken text will be formatted as follows: Daichi, Hideko, and Eiji. Anything that involves more than one of the Triplets speaking in unison will include all relevant formatting. Hopefully this will work....))
"All RIIIIGHT!" shouted Tensei Eiji as he and his siblings made their way through the halls of the Ninja Academy Building. "We're a team! We're a team!"
"I honestly would like to know who'd think of splitting us up," remarked his sister Hideko, flipping her long brown hair. "We've been together since the beginning."
"Ain't that the truth?" laughed Daichi, the eldest. "They'd think we were one ninja instead of three."
"Well," Hideko commented, "it's only natural..."
"For Triplets!" they finished together in perfect unison, executing a perfect three-way high five as they did so.
"Whoever our sensei is," Daichi continued as they exited the building, "I hope they like fun. If we get someone stuffy and uptight..."
"Like Nakamura-sensei," Eiji and Hideko continued,
"I'd keel over and die!" the three finished together, laughing again. Carrying on as they were, it took them a minute to see the Jounin waiting for them. Hideko was the first to notice.
"Hey, look!" she said, pointing. "Someone's over there."
"Could it be?!?" asked Eiji, excited.
"It might," agreed Daichi.
"Our sensei!" they shouted, running over to see who it was. It was Daichi who called out first.
"Hello!" he shouted, waving with his siblings. "Are you our Sensei?"

Homura Taro was an upbeat person. Easily amused, it was safe to say he had a habit of being overly enthusiastic about even the most mundane of events. In spite of this, as he walked out into the streets of Konoha that morning, he couldn't recall ever being so excited.
His own team! The thought was thrilling. At twenty-eight years of age, he was starting to think the Hokage was never going to trust him with a genin trio. Then again, it was probably out of consideration ever since he'd started a family. The situation in Konoha wasn't exactly the greatest or the safest, and training a team of three young shinobi was not only a big responsibility, but a dangerous and time consuming one.
Approaching the academy, he settled down onto the swing just outside the door. Pushing himself back and forth with a heel, he waited. Waiting was not his strong suit, but he distracted his impatient mind with plans for the day.
It was a little while later that Taro noticed a group of three exiting the building. They looked very similar... no, that wasn't a true statement. If he hadn't known any better, he might have confused them for one another. As soon as they spotted him, they all rushed over.
"Hello!" one of the boys said. "Are you our Sensei?"
"That's me!" Taro replied cheerfully, hopping up to stand on the swing. "Homura Taro!" Looping his arms around the ropes suspending the swing from the tree, he leaned forward. "We're gonna have some fun!"

The Triplets exchanged excited glances. So far, things were going great! And now, it was time to introduce themselves. Lining up, they spoke in turn.
"I'm Daichi, the first," the eldest began. "I'm Hideko, the second," the only girl continued. "And I'm Eiji, the third," the younger brother said. "All together," they finished in unison with huge grins, "we're the Triplets from the Tensei Clan! Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu!"

"Hmm," he replied, grinning widely. Pointing at each with a finger, he said, "Daichi, Hideko, and Eiji." Nodding in a satisfied manner as if that had committed their names to memory, he hopped off of the swing.
"Yoroshiku!" he bellowed, albeit somewhat belatedly. "Well!" he went on, in a manner that felt almost as if he were interrupting himself, "enough of that! We've got lots to do! So whaddya say, are you three ready?"

Daichi looked at Hideko. Hideko looked at Eiji. Eiji looked back at his siblings, and nodded.
"Yes, Sensei!" they declared, striking a dramatic, sentai-style pose. "We're gonna give it our all!"

Taro's ear-to-ear grin gave away just how pleased he was to hear them say that. "Good," he replied. "Then lets have some quick introductions before we get down to business."
It was protocol, for the most part. Taro was itching to get on to the main event, but he knew that he needed to hear a little more about his prospective students than just their names. Besides, he thought, it might help him if he got an idea of what they were like.
"I'll go first," he said. "Like I said, my name is Homura Taro... but you can call me Taro-sensei, if you want. I'm married and I have a daughter a little younger than you three." A proud smile crossed his face at that declaration. "I love eating!" he announced. "And I hate sitting around doing nothing."
Pushing his glasses up on his nose, he gazed down at the genin. "And that's that, I guess. How about you three? Just tell me a little about yourselves, your likes and dislikes, maybe your biggest dream for the future."

Exchanging nods and mischievous grins, the three Genin stood up. " Five, Six, Seven, Eight!" Eiji counted, and Daichi took up his beatboxing rhythm. The three bobbed up and down, swaying to the rhythm and clapping along. Hideko crooned a wordless melody that led into Eiji's rap, while she continued to provide the backup vocals. " Hey, yo! They can't believe their eyes Our similar appearance, well it takes 'em by surprise Believe it or not, though We're not just some freak show That's 'cuz we're the three-in-one The never ever outdone Can't stop us once we've begun Triplets from the Tensei With us you know the game's won!
Hey, let's start with me! The youngest of the brothers My name is E-I-JI! I may write all the songs But my siblings sing along Without those two my melodies run dry Without a soul, without a heart Like dust on the wind, away they fly So hey, don't you mess with one of us three 'Cuz to get to them you gotta get through me!
Hideko is next, she's the second of the team When she sings you know it makes the whole room scream She's stylin' with those fancy things Glasses, bracelets, earrings Take care she doesn't take you by surprise 'Cuz Hideko, well, she's just one of the guys!
Last but not least, it's the DA-I-CHI The eldest of the Triplets and I guarantee That his beats will get you jumpin' The whole party will be pumpin' 'Cuz when he hits that beatbox You know his beats'll outfox The shyest into dancin' The meanest into prancin' You you can't go awry For percussion, well he's your guy The beatboxing master, Daichi!" Here Daichi's beatboxing stopped, and the three continued in a unison rap, accompanied only by their rhythmic hand-clapping. " That about does it For now, because it's Time to go Let's start the show Don't stop the flow Feel free to clap Or wave, or snap Because 3, 2, 1 That's a wrap!" As soon as they finished their song, they all three crossed their arms and leaned over until they stood back-to-back, holding their pose while they awaited Sensei's reaction.

For a moment, all Taro could do was stare with his mouth agape. His firey eyes were wide with awe as he gazed in wonder at the trio of academy graduates.
"That... was... AMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAZING[/i]!" he yowled enthusiastically, throwing his arms out to each side of him. "Wowee! That was the coolest thing I've ever seen! Do it again!" he cheered.
"No, no," he chided himself, fixing his glasses which had gone askew in his excitement. "Sorry! No time for an encore... maybe some other time," he said sadly, seeming genuinely disappointed.

"That's okay, Sensei!" Hideko began. "It's never as good when you hear it again right away," Daichi agreed. Eiji nodded. "Besides," he began...
"We're pumped!" the three chimed together. "We wanna get started!"

The zeal for the coming task returned to Taro's face in the form of a cheshire-like grin that spread from ear to ear. Tilting his head to the side, it faded to a thoughtful expression momentarily as he patted around his vest a bit like an old man trying to deduce if his reading glasses were in his jacket pocket. Seeming satisfied with whatever it was he discovered, he looked back to the triplets.
"Well then!" he said. "Let's get started!" Putting his hands on his hips, he went on, "I'm afraid you don't get any fancy explanation. Part of the test is using your wits to figure it out!"
Moving to hold his hands in front of him in the form of a seal, he grinned. "Show me what you've got!" he announced gleefully before disappearing in a puff of smoke. A small white paper floated downward from where he had once been.
A zing! rang through the air, followed by a thock as a kunai whizzed past the trio to pin the paper to the nearby tree.

"Aaaaaand... he's gone," Daichi said with a sigh, reaching for the paper as it fluttered to the ground. He didn't get very far, though, until something happened.
Eiji was the first to notice something coming. "DOWN!" he shouted, grabbing his siblings and pulling them to the ground as a kunai whizzed by overhead. "That was close!" sighed Hideko, making sure it was safe before standing. "Definitely!" Daichi agreed. "Good save, man!" "Ehehehe... thanks," Eiji laughed bashfully before turning to stare at the paper. "Think it's a trap?" he asked.
"I'm not sure," Hideko replied thoughtfully, "But it's the only clue we have."
"True," muttered Daichi. "Just in case, though.... Hideko! Your skills with Genjutsu are the best out of the three of us. If it's rigged, you'd be the most likely to know. Why don't you take a look at it?" Eiji just murmured his assent, nodding.
"You got it!" Hideko agreed, turning with a flip of her hair to stride towards the tree. Preparing herself to possibly fight off a Genjutsu trap - or some other trick - she grabbed ahold of the kunai and tugged. It came out of the tree relatively easily, and the paper fell into her hand. Slowly, carefully, she unfolded it....

On the small paper a riddle had been inscribed, jotted down in neat, but slightly eccentric handwriting. It read as follows:
"Peace and turmoil in me both have their place. The weak grow in season, my soil as their base; And I, the silent teacher aiding in the race.
Find me!
(Hint: It's a place in Konoha! Good luck!)"

"It's safe," Hideko announced to her brothers after she'd verified that there were no detectable traps woven about the paper. Frowning, she read it aloud.
"A riddle, eh?" Eiji muttered when she had finished. "This stinks! I'm terrible at riddles. The only thing I can think of is the Academy, which makes no sense whatsoever since we're already there - err, here."
"That's why we have Daichi," Hideko responded simply, handing the paper to the eldest of the three. "This kind of thing's right up your alley, isn't it?"
"Sure is!" Daichi agreed with a huge grin. "I love riddles. Let's see now..."
A few moments passed, Eiji and Hideko anxiously awaiting their brother's response as the three sat under the tree. At last, the eager young Genin appeared to have come up with the answer.
"I've got it!" he announced, jumping up and waving the paper around. "Follow me!" And with that, he was off.
Hideko looked at Eiji. Eiji looked at Hideko.
Both shrugged, and took off after their brother.
"Hey, Daichiiiii!" Eiji called once they caught up with him. "Are you even going to bother telling us where we're going?"
"No need," Daichi explained. "We'll be there soon. Besides, we need to keep it down. We don't know what's gonna happen next, so we should try and stay hidden to keep the advantage. Not that there's much advantage to be had when we're dealing with a Jounin..."
"I get it," Hideko said softly as the the three came to a stop at Daichi's command. "So this is it." Daichi nodded. They were positioned in the trees surrounding a small training area, a few posts sticking out of the ground in the center of the clearing. "Stay sharp," Daichi warned in a whisper, "And keep an eye out. He's probably hidden himself somewhere around here. If you see or sense anything, say something."
Nodding their mutual agreement, the three fell silent and began to look for their Sensei.

Taro watched from his hidden perch as the trio of genin mulled over his riddle. A contented grin had come to rest upon his face as he waited, looking forward to seeing if they could figure it out. That was the biggest part of his whole test, really. Seeing if they could use their wits. That and unearthing what their particular skills were. He hoped they passed. He was starting to like them already. Seeing that they were on the move, he followed along at a liesurely pace, taking care to see to it that he was not detected. Once he deduced that they had answered the riddle correctly and were in fact going to the right place, he broke away from following them and took a more circular path to the Training Grounds. When he arrived, he found that they had beat him there, just as he had planned. Smirking to himself, he lifted his hands to form a seal.... ********* A little girl darted out from the cover of the trees, screaming in terror as an angry, vicious-looking dog almost twice her size chased after her. Tears streamed down her face as she stumbled across the training grounds, crying hysterically for help. Try as she might to outrun it, it was obvious that the beast was gaining on her. It snapped at the ends of her pretty blonde hair and the fabric of her little white dress as she struggled to get away. It seemed that no one was near enough to hear her cries for help. No one, that is, but the three genin concealing themselves in the trees surrounding the training area. The sound of the girl's dress tearing echoed through the air as she tripped and fell.

Before anyone could say anything, Eiji moved to go after the little girl as soon as she came into the clearing - but was stopped by Daichi's firm grip on his arm. "It might be a trap, man," the older brother warned. "You can't just run out there without thinking."
"I did think-" "-for about a second," interrupted Hideko, earning a pointed glance from Eiji "-and I decided to help her. Besides-" he cast a worried look at the clearing "-this might be a test to see what we can do. Suddenly the sound of the girl's dress tearing reached their ears. "There's nothing for it," Eiji told his siblings. "I'm the fastest of us, so I'll go. Back me up!" and with that, he was gone.
Sighing, Daichi and Hideko exchanged quick, meaningful glances before dropping to the ground below the trees, remaining hidden in the undergrowth. In the space of an instant a stone picked up from the ground flew from Daichi's hand, aimed right at the dog's head. It wasn't a large stone, just enough to stun it and give Eiji the chance he needed. Meanwhile, Hideko darted off to the side, followed closely by Daichi.
Seeing his chance, Eiji moved. That minor distraction was all he needed, and in a swift moment he had picked up the little girl, deposited her on the edge of the clearing, and vanished again to the cover of the trees, to hopefully locate his siblings before something else happened. It was only once he returned to the safety of his hiding spot that he had a chance to look and see what had happened.
