(ooc: I'm sorry if I have to get permission to post here or whatnot, but I just thought I'd post it before I forgot about it ^-^)
"IRO! What are you doing, you have to stay alert, theres no time for you to be dazing off on me!" The voice came from a woman in her early twenties. She had long silver hair done up in intricate braids, most of which now were coming undone. She had a leaf forehead protector over her eyes, and a signature Konoha flak jacket over top of her black shirt. The night was dark, most of the star hidden behind a veil of cloud, and the moon only peeking out from behind them every now and then.
"Sorry sis, but this is the first time I've ever been in real combat before." The sounds of battle could be heard from all sides. The clash on kunai, the flare of heat from a jutsu, and the occasional yell of pain.
"I know, we never thought our enemies would attack a group of Jounin escorting Academy Students. This was just supposed to be a small field trip. We weren't anywhere near ready to handle this kind of attack..."

The sun was shining brightly, as a small envoy from Konoha forged their way through the thick forest that surrounded the city. Five Jounin and a Chuunin lead a large group of Academy students.
"Make sure to stay with the group kids!" the dark haired Chuunin called out, "it took me quite a long time to get this trip authorized by Hokage-sama. I've held this trip every year and I would hate for you all to miss such a memorable time. But keep in mind, we are still in the middle of a war. This have been rather quiet lately and the fact that we're escorting all of you should keep us out of danger, but anything could happen, so keep your guard up and do not stray from your group, and do not let your groups stray from your designated Jounin.
"Yessir!" resonated from the youngsters following closely behind.

"It was supposed to be a peaceful trip, we never expected an anbush on a bunch of students. I should have known these 'so-called' Shinobi would do something so underhanded" the girl said solemnly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the group proceeded through the forest, the sun slid behind a large cropping of cloud. All five of the Jounin stopped, and after a flurry of hand signals, took up defensive position around the students.
The Chuunin gathered the kids together, "now kids, I don't know xactly what is going on here, but I want you to make sure you all stay inside these Jounin unless I tell you otherwise. Whatever happens, stay with me" he whispered.
The kids huddled together around their sensei, they could sense the tension and fear of their sensei. They were not stupid, they all had at least some idea of what was going on.
The sun appeared from behind the clouds, casting an ominous light on the group crowded into the small clearing in the forest.
A tall Jounin with long silver hair quickly appeared next to the Chuunin, "when we give you the signal, you take the children and get them to safety, we should be able to hold them off long enough for you to make it back to Konoha." As soon as she had said this she was back in her position around the group.
As the sun moved back behind the clouds, it seemed the groups warmth went with it. A slight rustle of leaves was the only warning the group had as a mass of shuriken flew towards the Jounin. Two were hit, neither seriously. All five of the Jounin strung together a flurry of hand seals in near perfect unison.
"Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu!!*"
The area around the group suddenly engulfed in a conflagration. A small opening in the blaze gave the Chuunin the signal to move out. The children fled as quickly and as quietly as they could. They knew silence could mean the difference between life and death.
"That was the last time I thought I'd ever see you little brother" the girl whispered to Iro. "After you all escaped, we started searching for who was responsible. We couldn't find anyone. We determined that they were after you all. They must have seen you all as an easy source of information."
Iro's heart was pounding in his chest. He would have sworn that that alone would have given away his position by the intesity of it. "Shortly after we left you, we were attacked. There were so many of them. Sensei told us all to run. I could hear him die Ayami! But they didn't stop there, they started chasing after the students... I could hear them screaming as I ran for cover. I was with another student. I had never met him before, I just knew his name; Sotami Karo. We ran for what seemed like forever. We thought we were safe, so we stopped." Iro began to tremble, "our lungs were burning... we were terrified... we thought we were safe... but we weren't." Tears streamed down Iro's face. He hated when he cried, he didn't know why, but it always made his eyes burn. "One of the enemies found us... we didn't know what to do. We didn't want to be taken by them... so we fought back. I don't know how, but Karo seemed unafraid of him. I was terrified!"
