The young man was perched alone in the back of the room, his arms crossed over the desk before him, his vacant silver eyes staring over his arms out the window. Wind shifted the trees, casting dancing shadows over the room.
Yamiko wondered breifly why he'd shown up this morning. He usualy skipped class. He'd repeated enough to know the basics by heart. But, he'd shown up today. And early at that.
Lazily, he watched dust dance in the sunbeams, ignoring the first sounds of the other students arriving. They ignored him in return. He couldn't have asked for anything more. Atleast they weren't taunting him. The chatter was annoying, though.
He closed his eyes and sighed. What he would give to just get out. Maybe he should leave.
Yeah. Skip again. There was an idea.
Then he noticed how quiet it had gotten. He opened his eyes and found a dozen more staring at him.
"Matsu Yamiko!" Boomed the voice from up front. Slowly, curiously, he straightened up.
"....Hai?"

*hehe, YAY!~ i can join this one too, in another time frame, XD*
A snicker is heard from the row directly in front of Yamiko, Jin who had just walked in sat down with a grin on his face.
"Ha! Yamiko's in trouble for skipping and now sleeping in class..." whispered Jin, audiably enough, to another student who sat next to him.
"Yeah you're just glad it isn't you, huh?" was the dry reply.
"Shut-up, atleast I don't go around saying 'I see spirits' and stuff."
There was a muffled bit of laughter from the students around Jin; He didn't laugh himself, but he turned to glance at Yamiko, his gaze wasn't snotty or arrogant, but more or less one of those Don't-think-you're-better-than-us-cuz-you're-all-angsty looks. With that, he turned to face the teacher, the owner of the booming voice.

Buyo-sensei looked deep into Matsu-kun's distant eyes. He knoticed Matsu-kun looked tired, listless...overly bored.
Keitaro sighed.
Since he had been offered the teaching position, Keitaro gathered up as much as he could about Konoha's history from his clan as he could. The fiercest battles, the most sworn of enemies, and (Keitaro's favourite) the bravest of Konoha shinobi.
Keitaro was estatic about the subject matter, finding nothing more exciting than hearing about and learning of his village's vast and diverse history.
However, his students seemed less enthousiastic. He noticed many of them rarely raised their hands. A few of them started to nod off, and Matsu Yamiko had skipped his lectures more often than he cared to count.
"Matsu-kun...is my lesson...boring you that much?" Keitaro asked slowly of his dreary pupil.
I've got to make these kids understand the importance of what they'll be doing for their community as shinobi...what they'll be doing for the village!
Keitaro clapped his hands loadly to the class, not letting Matsu-kun answer.
"Attention class! Gather your things, we're going on a feild trip...right now!" he said in an authoritarian voice.
The students exchanged looks of both confusion and mild interest.
"C'mon! We don't have all day! Just try and keep up!" Keitaro shouted playfully as he bounded towards the door.
Keeeeeeh, GTK is back in action!

Jin's face sunk into his hands, his forehead rested against the table. He could hear the other students excited chatter now, the blabble was all short sweet and utterly poison. He looked int the file sticking out form his bag and opened it. 'Sharingan Mirror Pin Wheel - Thriple Windmill Attack : Assignment on Angular Velocity and Tension', why, he thought, did I have to work on this all night if we were jsut gonna go on some field trip? Jin sighed; that wasn't the only thing bothering him, while his schooling was a breeze, the harder part was still yet to come. Jin was horrible in PE; he lacked stamina to compare with most ninjas.
I wonder where Buya-sensei plans to take us, I've never had a feild trip with him before.
After the noise of the majority of the students left, Jin got up slowly putting his worksheets into his bag. He then walked by the window to see Buya sensei waiting for the class, who he had started to drill excercise, and stretching maneuvers into. - "Must be a long feild trip, or he must be waiting for the bus.."
Jin didn't live outside his social bubble, he said taht phrase as if he didn't care if anyone listened or not. Surely, he startled some female students giggling about the newest gossip, but that was, again, outside Jin's little world.
He jumped out the window and quickly balanced the chakra to effectivly hop-dash down the wall, he figured he might as well train his control of chakra, but not too much, in case the situation called for a greater emergency.
He was fast aproaching the ground, his sash whipped out from around him, and stiffened into the shape of an 'F' Bar facing both directions, the two tabs attached themselves to his feet, while the tail wagged delicatey from side to side. the bottom of the sash let loose some chakra to repel him from the ground. va-va-voom, (Jin has jsut atempted and created perhaps the first, official ninja hoverboard... product of Konoha Ninjas). The tail banked up casuing the nose to rise, his intense downward decent closed in on the ground and pushed hard agaisnt the wall, Jin went zooming towards Buyo-sensei with that childish mischevious smirk on his face.

Keitaro saw Jin approach quickly, balancing on his sash.
Now there's a technique that shows promise...he thought to himself.
"Nice of you to join us, Jin-kun" he said with a smile to his young academy student.
Keitaro looked around to see that his entire class was out and near him. They were standing just a few feet away from the academy entrance.
"Alright, future-genins, listen up!" he shouted.
"Aparently learning out of textbooks and charts is either a little too much for you to handle...or not enough. So...I've come up with a lesson for the lot o' ya."
He couldn't help but smile at the ludicris faces his class was making.
"Where we're going is a bit dangerous, so it's in your best interest to L-I-S-T-E-N. Now, I want you all march in a single file line until I give the okay to move around...everyone got it?"
There were a bunch of confused faces, but most of them nodded.
"Alright...everyone follow me"
With that, Keitaro began marching to the east of Konoha, his students following.

Jin's sash-board pulled to a stop behind the crowd. He yawned and stretched. The sash wrapped itself around his forearms and all the way up his arm to 4 inches below his shoulders, there they cresented behind his head in the air, as to allow his arms to still retain their full motor range.
He picked a spot near the end of the crowd to follow Buyo-sensei, and form there he looked arround. Where was that Yamiko? His eyes didn't catch him as he watched them from the back, so he ignored it. Its not like I want to hang out with that drop-out anyway. Ghosts, HA! Yeah right, that half-wit probably couldn't even sense my ShinTenShin if I used it on him.

Yamiko remained still until the classroom had emptied. His silver gaze was locked on Jin, watching silently as the other boy disappeared out the window. He sighed and dropped his head forward just slightly, grimacing.
"Smart mouthed show off..." He muttered.
Slowly he stood. The skulls at his wrists clattered silently, but he ignored them and headed for the door. A field trip...this might be interesting. Slipping outside, he stayed close to the door listening to Buyo-sensei. As his braceletts rattled more, he slowly raised his hands and crossed his arms to mask their noise keeping his attention on his sensei.
As the class began to march off, Yamiko moved forward and then paused as Jin was the last in line. He closed his eyes and supressed an audible groan. He really wanted to avoid the guy...
Opening his silver eyes he shivered as he caught the familiar movement of ethereal shadow. It had gotten worse lately. Meant something was going to happen. Turning his gaze to the ground, his black braid slipped over his shoulder. He closed his eyes a moment to try and block out the whisper. It's not important, Yamiko, don't listen. Don't listen!
He began to walk again, slipping into the shadows of the trees to catch up with the class, moving as quickly and as quietly as possible, running more from the spirit than for the wish to be with the class. Slowing as he caught sight of Jin again, he fell into a walk, listening intently for Buyo-sensei's voice.

Keitaro could sense his class growing impatient. A few of them groaned with irritation at the long distance they'd been walking. He glanced behind to that a few of his stragler students had caught up.
Matsu Yamiko-kun...I'm glad you at least are here... he thought when he noticed his bizarre faced pupil.
"Alright students! We've arrived!" Keitaro shouted, stopping at last.
Their reaction was just as he had immagined it would be.
Their eyes grew wide and some of their jaws dropped. Some of them smiled in interest, while others stepped back in hesitation. Some, like Yamiko-kun, simply stood placid...the bored expression continued.
Still, it wasn't everyday an academy student got to see it up close.
"Everyone, gather round. This..." Keitaro said, motioning towards the enormously high fenced off area behind him.
"...is the Shino Mori, The Forset of Death!"

Jin stiffled a laugh to himself, he couldn't help it really. "The Forest of Death huh? Don't kid me, this is PERFECT!" He turns over his shoulders and sees Yamiko, "Hey, if I die, keep me company, okay?" he grinned his infamous grin and the rest of teh class knew what he was getting at, the laughter was brought back to the group.
Jin had heard stories about the Forest of Death, he had heard the rumours, but he wasn't afraid. rationally, Ninjas had come, and ninjas had gone, if it was his destiny to pass, then he would get past all obstacles. Jin faced every challenge this way, the outcome only allows for the reaction, but the action may never come back.
As the laughter died down, we turned serious, and moved a little closer to the edge of the forest. Was it something wrong with Jin, or did he seem to find the quite inscidious look of the forest very welcoming...

The shadows were numerous now...taking form...all around him the spirits of long dead nin were whispering and beckoning. Yamiko pulled a few thin white strips of linen from his belt to wrap around his wrists. The braceletts were rattling something terrible.
"Hey, if I die, keep me company, okay?" grinned Jin as the others laughed. Yamiko narrowed his silver gaze at the other boy and remained quiet. His attention was then drawn to the edge of the Shino Mori. The ghosts danced there, excited. They were waiting for more to join them...
The class had calmed. Everyone was staring at the forest now. How convienient an adventure it would be to slip into that forest...into death...
"So, Buyo-sensei...are we just going to stand here and look at it or are you going to let us slip in through those gates?" He asked quietly, an almost interested gleam slipping into his silver gaze.

"Yamiko-kun, patience. We will be proceeding inside in a moment, but first some history" Keitaro cleared his throat.
The class groaned. Buyo-sensei's history lectures always ended with half the class asleep.
"As I'm sure you all know, the forest of death was used as a training ground and testing site for Chuunin exams held in Konoha. After an exam failed...with more than 94% percent of its participants killed, it was decided by the eigth Hokage that the forest be closed and a different site created.
"The Tenth decided that the forest should be opened again for this years chuunin exam...but one area still lies forbidden"
The class's murmurs of disinterest changed ever so slightly.
"A point that hold great significance to many among the Jounin elite, there's a small patch of forest that's said to be...haunted"
"That's stupid!" One of the children shouted. "There's no such thing as ghosts!".
Keitaro smiled.
"I wouldn't know either way...but it is true that one clearing in the forest is considered very dangerous..."
Keitaro then rummaged through his pockets, looking for something.
"Erm...would anyone happen to have a book with them?" he asked.

Yamiko wanted to laugh. Of course the forest was haunted...why otherwise would it be called Shino Mori? But he doubted seriously that was the reason it was off limits....not that it was going to stop anyone from going in it.
His silver gaze landed on Jin. The boy was deep in thought. He'd be attempting that spot, he knew. Might be fun to watch him...
Yamiko gave his teacher an annoyed look as he asked for a book. Why on earth would any of them have a book? He sighed and focused his attention back on the forest. Just get on with it Buyo-sensei.

That last sentance broke a spell on Jin,
"Erm...would anyone happen to have a book with them?" asked buyo-sensei
Jin had been slowly moving towards the forest, and not on his own accord, no less. Something troubled him now, and buyo-sensei franticly looking for a textbook wasn't it. There was something worse than a couple spooks inside this forest, he felt the coldest shiver rattle through his body. What a time for that numbskull to be right, I better be carefull, using ShinTenShin is going to have to be a definite no-no. Jin edged away from the forest, back to the class, sure, it felt alrite to think there was a safety in numbers, and besides, he was missing out on Buyo-sensei's history lecture.
