Name: Tensei Hotaka ("Step by Step")
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Rank: ANBU
Height: 6'2"
Appearance: The first thing that a person might notice about Hotaka is his smile; he spends the majority of his time with an easygoing grin resting on his face. Even when his lips aren't smiling, his slate blue eyes manage to convey an inward sense of mirth or contentment. His black hair is medium length and spiked at a low angle; and the tips of his sideburns, as well as a few strands in his bangs, are a light blonde color. He was something of an awkward kid with a lanky build, but he managed to fill out decently as he grew older. Although muscular by no means, Hotaka has some powerful legs from his dancing. He also enjoys spending time outside, so his naturally fair skin has taken on a healthy tan.
Personality: Two good words to describe this tappin' Tensei would be "laid back." It takes a great deal of duress and heckling before his temper will even begin to flare, but once it does, watch out. For the most part, though, Hotaka is as relaxed and tolerant as they come. Unfortunately, because passionate emotions so rarely trouble him, he has grown uncomfortable with displaying them. If he feels some kind of displeasure or unhappiness, he will keep it to himself. Often times he feels quite lonely, but the man goes to great pains to make certain that no one ever knows it. Dancing is his favorite thing in the whole world, and whenever he has free time, he is applying himself to bettering his skills and pushing the envelope with unique combinations.
Likes: Dancing, sunny days, hanging out
Dislikes: Rain, uppity people, cats
Family:[/u]
Father: Tensei Akihiko
Mother: Tensei Minako
History: From the day that he was born, Hotaka's parents sensed that he was going to be a little different from the rest of the clan. As soon as he learned to walk, he would go around the house stomping his little feet and clapping his hands until Akihiko and Minako thought they were going lose their minds. He learned Ten no Uta like the rest of his cousins and his singing voice wasn't too bad, but he was much more interested in learning the art of tap. Even before he was old enough to enroll in the Academy, he would spend his afternoons on the back porch practicing his fancy footwork.
He did well at the academy, in spite of his tendency to be easily distracted. He was just as fervent as ever in his dancing pursuits, and though the other children would occasionally tease him for his "happy feet," he paid them no mind. When nicknames like "twinkletoes" started popping up, Hotaka took it all in stride and often accepted the terms his classmates came up with for him as compliments (even those which were in no way complimentary). He became a genin at the age of 12, and graduated to chuunin at 18. After two years as a chuunin, Hotaka decided he wanted to try something more challenging and joined the ANBU corps. He liked it so much that since joining he has actually been afraid of being promoted to jounin.
Early on in life he made fast friends with his cousins Daichi, Eiji, and Hideko. He is particularly fond of freestyling with Daichi, proudly claiming that out of all of the Tensei, he and the beatboxing triplet have the best sense of rhythm.
Other info: Like most Tensei, Hotaka is a born performer. Nothing makes him happier than having the opportunity to show off his skills, often times doing so in unusual situations. If someone so much as hints that they would like to see him dance, he will leap at the chance to do so (sometimes literally). One particular incident he was asked to leave a restaurant because someone made the passing comment that they would like to see him dance, and he obliged--right there in the restaurant on an empty table.
