Name: Haiyuu Yasu
Gender: Female, natch!
Age: 14
Rank: Genin
Height:4' 8"
Weight: 70 lbs
Physical description: To describe Yasu in one word, many have used "adorable", as she hardly looks her age given her petite stature and slight frame. Factoring in a shimmering curtain of deep-green hair, glittering amber eyes, and her pleasant disposition, it was not uncommon to liken her to a pixie or sprite. She dresses conservatively, though there is not much to conceal, but yet still in such a fashion as to extend her aura of cavity-inducing sweetness.
Personality: As mentioned above, Yasu possesses a pleasant attitude, albeit she's a bit on the meek and quiet side. A bit introverted, quite willing to talk to people should they approach her, but far from just wandering up to strangers and initiating conversations. Her true passion, well within the bounds of the norm for her clan, lies in puppeteering, and when not on a mission, she can be easily found on the streets performing marionette plays for whoever wishes to watch, and considering her talent, most who glimpse her performances do.
History: A member of the Haiyuu Clan, renowned for producing some of the best visual performers, the only field their name won't jump to the forefront is that of the Tensei dominated musical arts. Kabuki, dance, these things surrounded Yasu from her birth, and very early on she took a fascination in the puppets her father made and performed with. There were, however, two dark clouds in the sky of her life. Yasu is, in fact, one half of a set of fraternal twins, her elder (by 5 hours) brother Mamoru completing the pair. Mamoru emerged strong and healthy, while Yasu entered the world quite small and weak, and remained so throughout her childhood, as mirrored currently in her undersized frame.
From sharing his warmth in the cradle, to staying by her side through every sickness, fending off any assault the world threw at her, Mamoru truly lived up to his name. As they entered the Ninja Academy, Mamoru unsurprisingly showed a strong Earth affinity, rigorously studying defensive jutsu and fighting styles to keep his beloved sister safe. Yasu's early fascination with her father's puppetry evolved into a knack for Kugutsu not seen in the family for several generations. And so was born their powerful combination as they graduated the Academy: Mamoru would occupy the opponent(s) with his strength and frustrating defenses, while Yasu would manipulate her puppet from hiding.
Early on in their Genin career, the second black cloud thundered. Returning from a simple mission, their team was ambushed, and as part of his neverending devotion to protecting her, Mamoru took a near-fatal blow to the back that had been intended for her. Though the close proximity to home allowed them to get the healing needed to spare his life, it had come to late. Mamoru, The Mountainous Shield, was paralyzed almost completely, his career as a shinobi over before it had really started.
Yasu contemplated giving up with him, not wanting to face the world without her other half. What happened next gave her the second greatest shock of her young life. After begging and pleading for weeks, Mamoru convinced the Haiyuu Clan elders to gather, and with the help of his father, performed a technique that had not seen use in centuries- Hitokugutsu.
Emerging again from the Clan grounds almost a year later, Yasu seemed like her old pleasant self again, despite the loss of the brother she loved so dearly. She had grown a little stronger at his behest, but on missions since, her teammates noticed a change. In dire times, a powerful puppet would appear, Yasu's pride and joy- her Yojimbo.
Other notes: Because of her small size and lack of physical strength, Yasu keeps her Kugutsu Puppets in scrolls to avoid being burdened by them.
