Anticipating requests for further information about Utsuro's background, clan, etc. I've decided to take some initiative and type up more info for you ladies and gents. Keep in mind, I took a lot of...artistic liberties so to speak, the entire village based around the idea of the unused/unknown Village Symbols at leafninja.com/country.php. I hope this is acceptable, and I hope you enjoy it ^_~ EDIT! should have put the 'pending approval' in, as none of this matters until teh charrie is approved. Sorry for the inconvenience! ^^;;
At a distant corner of the map, there sits a small island, overlooked by the rest of the world. On this island, there quietly sits a mountain range, unimpressive in size, not worth scaling for those who are interested in such accomplishments. And thus it remained, as it always had.
What remains, you ask? A village, shying away from the rest of the world. The Village Hidden in the Heavens. Founded many centuries ago by those who sought enlightenment, Hidden Heaven never attained the size of some of its brethren, and that was just the way they wanted it. Unnoticed, undisturbed by the rest of the world, its founding Clans were able to focus their attention on their own enlightenment. One such clan was Tsutomegi.
Clan Tsutomegi's ancestors, having travelled across the lands in search of their Hidden Heaven, knew much of the world, and indeed, the way of the Shinobi. They had produced many fine shinobi themselves, none of historical value, and therein lay the discontent. Clan Tsutomegi wanted nothing more than to create the ultimate shinobi, capable of any task, defeating any foe.
But alas, such a feat seemed only a dream. Shinobi were born and raised to the best of their abilities, and yet still were not perfect. The accursed nature of the elements had always proven to be a downfall. And as they say, necessity is the mother of invention.
Retreating to the distant island soon to be known amongst themselves as Hidden Heaven, they began their work. If only, they thought, a person could be raised with an affinity for all 5 natural elements, then he or she would have nary a weakness to exploit. Generations passed, rigorous training was undertaken, and yet still their goal was as elusive as ever. It was, quite literally, driving them mad.
And the solution was uncovered. Each individual has his or her own chakra element affinity. Increase the number of individuals, and the affinities would increase as well, they thought. Training regimens were abandoned for the sake of intense meditations, pushing the limits of the mind further and further to the breaking point. Deeper into madness the early Tsutomegi delved, researching and employing strange rites, making pacts with powerful spirits.
Failures dominated for generations to come, but the successes were sent out into the world as nigh-unstoppable shinobi, coveted for the most advanced missions. Warriors that could switch from unrelenting offense to paragon defense in the blink of an eye. Spies that were impossible to interrogate in the rare instance they were captured. Wielders of ninjutsu of all 5 elements. Such were the trademarks of the Tsutomegi Shinobi.
But how did they do it?
