Ayaka let out a surprised squeak when she found herself being picked up yet again. She wasn't scared - this was Tsutomegi, after all - just.... surprised. It was a good thing the bag with her lunch and keys inside had already been slipped over a wrist, too, because in her surprise she threw her arms around his neck and held on tight. "Ah... I'm still not used to that," she explained with a soft, nervous laugh, finally relaxing her hold a little.

"Gomen, I did not mean to startle you." He bowed his head slightly in apology, as he shifted a bit trying to find a way to hold her that was comfortable for the both of them. She had thrown her arms around his neck though, it felt...very natural, for which he was glad. Hopefully it would keep him from dropping her. The embarrassment alone might kill him. "Let's go." Utsuro stated simply, turning slightly to the side and beginning to head down the stairs he had just minutes ago been struggling to scale, minding her legs to keep from colliding her ankle with a wall or the like.

It still felt weird to Ayaka - being carried. Then again, most physical contact felt strange to her, but at least she could actually remember hugging her mom. And while she knew she must have been carried at some point when she was little, she had no memory of it, and so her current experience was completely foreign to her. That said, it still felt... nice. Tsutomegi seemed very strong - how else could he carry that huge bundle around everywhere, and even pick her up? - but he was also one of the kindest, gentlest people she had ever met. So despite being a little intimidated by the new and unfamiliar experience, she felt almost..... safe. Of course, that wasn't the only thing she was feeling. "I'm sorry, Tsutomegi," she sighed, obviously feeling guilty. "First I made you fall down the stairs, and now you have to carry me all over the place when you've just been moving that heavy bundle up all those stairs. I can try to walk if you decide you don't wanna carry me anymore..."

"Do not worry about that, Ayaka-san. I am stronger than I look." Truth be told, it was somewhat troubling just how easy it was to hold on to the girl. She seemed..slightly heavier than when he had caught her at the tree, but still negligible nonetheless. His legs would probably give out from all the walking before his arms tired of holding her. "I have twisted my ankle like that before, the last thing you want to do is put any weight on it. I shall be fine, I promise." And so Utsuro continued, ignoring the faint burning in his legs, down through the apartment and out the front doors.

Ayaka just nodded. "It does kinda hurt, but I still feel bad that you have to carry me. I'm.... glad you don't mind, though," she admitted at last. "Thanks, Tsutomegi."

"It is the least I can do. Had I not been so clumsy, you would not have twisted your ankle in the first place." The reply was calm, quiet, and regretful. Thankfully the streets were not too crowded, it was much easier to navigate without worry of hurting her further that way.

"You and me both," Ayaka reminded him. "I jumped down after you, y'know." She trailed off as Tsutomegi carried her along; there really wasn't much else for her to say, so she just rested her head on one of her arms, both of which were still holding onto her friend. Eventually they made it to one of the aid tents, and she was set down and placed in the care of the medics. It was very surprising and rather disconcerting to see how much her ankle had swollen in that short amount of time. Ayaka had never really seen anything like it, and she was more than a little relieved when the medic wrapped it up - not only because of the relief, but also because the bandage helped hide the unsettling look of her ankle. It wasn't long before she was given a little medicine in case the pain got too bad, told to put some ice on her ankle, and released - but not before she was given the frustrating news that she would have to stay off that foot for a while. How was she going to work if she couldn't walk!? Either way, she was free to go now, so she took her shoe in one hand - there was no way it was going back on over the swelling and the bandage - and looked over to Tsutomegi. "Guess I won't be working today, huh?" she asked with a wry grin.

"It would seem not." Utsuro replied after the agonizingly long wait for her to be treated. It was only an aid tent, but it still managed to unsettle him much like a real hospital. "Do you...need to go tell Oyajii and Obaachan? I can take you there if need be.." All of this because he had been an uncoordinated oaf. Sounds about right.

"Well, they need to find out," Ayaka replied thoughtfully. "You don't have to take me all the way there if you don't want to, though. You've already carried me all over the place."

"Well. Only from the apartments to here. The world is a very large place, it would take a great deal of time for me to carry you over all of it." The straight face was probably the most humorous part of the statement. Utsuro himself, however, was wondering what the medics had found so amusing. "But it would be no trouble to assist you further. It is my fault you are hurt after all....again....just...more directly...this time.."

"I keep telling you, Tsutomegi," Ayaka sighed, "it's not your fault. I'm the one who startled you into falling in the first place, remember? "But... I guess, if you really don't mind, we really probably should go tell the Cafe," she finished with a shy expression.

"Well, yes, but were I not so awkward, you would not have had to worry about trying to stop me..." He sighed, shaking his head. "It is no problem at all, Ayaka-san." Moving to lift her up again, he could feel that strange heat building inside of him again. Oh for cryin' out loud, you'd let someone kill you if they asked politely enough!! ...well...if they..had a good reason to...GYAH!!

By this point it was almost easy for Ayaka to take up her place in Tsutomegi's arms. Part of her wasn't sure what to think of that, but at least she was getting used to the sensation of being held. It seemed to happen often enough, so she might as well. Either way, it wouldn't be long before she would be home and wouldn't have to worry about making Tsutomegi carry her everywhere. * * * * * It wasn't long after the red-haired girl and her friend left that one of the medics looked in confusion to his partner. "Wait... Did that girl remember to get a pair of crutches?"
