So, I've been reading the manga a lot lately, as I've found a site to get decent quality anime, without registering and stuff, so I've been comparing the two and reading the manga, as I go through the anime. I decided I'd have a look at the first episode of the manga again, and you know what I noticed? That the terminology used in the translation (I could be wrong here, the raw may reflect differently) suggests that Naruto is Kyuubi. That "The odds of him being able to break the seal and reverting back into the nine-tailed fox is one in a million...". I wonder if Kishimoto originally planned to actually have Naruto as Kyuubi, then changed his mind. Now, forget about everything from the anime and manga past that point (Which is nothing ), and I think it's plausable. I wonder if he had a change of heart. Who knows. The effect is instant, the second chapter paints Naruto as a vessel for the Kyuubi. Now, note that the anime is different from the manga, in that, it combines many episodes together, and is bought out long after the manga plot has been decided. Food for thought.

Apologies for double posting here, but I've found something on Wikipedia about the above contents. Anyone wanting to read up on it can go hereBut anyways, here is the text directly from the Wiki article: Kishimoto first authored a one-shot of Naruto in the August 1997 issue of Akamaru Jump.[1] The plot differed substantially in that Naruto was the son of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox instead of being the container, and the story was placed in a more modern setting
