Yay! *dances too. Like, some sexy Night Elf chickee. Wahahaha.*
I've recently gotten my filthy hands on the movie. I haven't watched it yet: a few of us are getting together tomorrow to watch it (at my house, no less. The only place better to watch a movie would be at the movie theater XD). So it should be great fun. I'm looking forward to it, even if there's a chance the movie might be as thrilling as the last one (lol).

Okay, here's the scoop for those who want to know.
<Movie Spoilers Possibly ahead!>
Review of Naruto Movie 2: Raging Dattebayo Special!
Well, just less than a year later, we have a second Naruto movie with a third on the way. This one features Naruto, Sakura, and Shikamaru teaming up to fend off bizarre soldiers led by a mysterious knight boy called Temujin. Sabaka no Gaara and Kankuro also make appearences too ^^
Okay, first things first: Animation quality.
Done by the same studios who worked the key and in between frames of the first naruto movie, the animation is slick and fast. However, it seems much more cartoony than before, with character designs becoming simplified for the sake of speed far more often than in the last film. Not a huge deal in any case.
Character Design:
Again, the same character designers who worked on making Konoha's shinobi hip to the snow, the snow nins, and the Princess work their magic. This time, however, their designs are a little too elaborate for their own good. The silver knight style of Temujin seems out of place, but is forgivable. The other bad guys, on the other hand, simply feel like rehashes of the snow nins and Dotou. They're cool, but I can't help but feel that they all look a little too familliar.
Story:
This is where the movie fumbles a little. Sure, "Big mission to rescue the snow princess!" was a little far-fetched, but this movie's plot goes just a little too far. By the time the ending rolls around, you'll feel as if the series has jumped the shark a little. Don't look for a great original story here.
Action:
One thing everybody loves about Naruto, the ninja battles and jutsu. Once again, we're treated to some awesome ninja action. Gaara absolutely kicks ass once again, even when he's up against an incredibly ridiculous enemy. And, as always, Naruto has a spiffy new Rasengan technique to wow us with...
...this time, it's a double rasengan! One in each hand! Pretty cool ^^
Music:
Very little taken from the series...feels far less dramatic than the previous film. The island acoustic background music just, once again, feels a little out of place amid our ninja heroes. You can't blame them for trying, but it doesn't quite stack up in the end.
Overall:
This movie neither surpasses my expectations, nor does it underwhelm. It just, kinda, makes par. It kind of feels like a suped up filler episode with some awesome moments and some others that are blah.
All in all, 3 kunai out of a pouch of 5.
If you're a fan, see it regardless, you won't regret it.
Here's hoping number 3 ups the ante a little ^^;;

Lol. Yesterday we had a lil' get together at the Maz-Crib, and watched the movie. Seems Kiel beat me to it, but that doesn't stop me from sharing my opinion, does it? XD Review follows! Keep those spoiler eyes averted! Naruto Movie 2 Review, Episode 2: Hour and a Half! ZOMG MAZ COPIED KIEL'S STYLEZAfter spending a day watching the movie several times (one must set up every single detail of their show if one is to impress an audience), I was pleasantly surprised the second time round. I have to admit, the first movie didn't impress me much. Not at all. So, my expectations for this movie were quite low. I'm glad to say, however, that my expectations were far surpassed. For the most part, I agree with Kiel. Alot of the character drawups and animation just seemed a lot less detailed. It was still cool, but it just... kinda felt a lil' weird, I guess. Still good though. The music is where I felt the movie didn't feel so... good. Like Kiel said, it all felt a little out of place, and there was very little, if any, taken from the series. Still, I guess the music was alright. Most of the story was just... meh, alright, I guess. Fairly predictable, but then what story isn't? Besides, a story's worth shouldn't be judged on how predictable it is. lol. I did however, find the story a lot more enjoyable than the first one. Maybe it was actually the characters this time 'round: Temujin was a lot more likeable than Yukie. However, it's the rest of the movie that makes it work. The action scenes in it kick butt. Sure, they're not the GREATEST things ever, but they do make the ride an enjoyable one. Gaara ownz, majorly. As do Kankuro and Shikamaru. Heck, I have to admit, even Naruto was bearable this time round. He made me cry in the first movie, 'coz his retardation skills shot through the roof... but this time, I could actually stand him! Wow! The ending was a little disappointing, but then that's the sorta thing the Japanese do, so I guess it works. lol. All in all, a great movie, I guess. If they keep improving at this rate, the next one's gonna be a smashing success. XD 3.75/5!!

Yeah. Well. It seems you guys beat me to it with your huge reviews. So I'm just gonna put a few of my comments in here. And once again, spoilers are gonna be in here, and if you haven't seen them in Kiels and Maz's, well, tough XD.
I also found Temujin to be a little odd. But as Kiel said, you get over it quick. I found the movie almost entirely predictable, some of my mates were still adamant that the main bad guy (Hadou I seem to remember, but I might be wrong) was still a good guy. The second I saw him, I knew his intentions...but oh well. As you get older you look for these things. I loved the fight scenes in this one actually. They were definately a highlight of the movie. Just Shikamaru and Kankuros team up work was great. And the quote at the end: "Most of them were paper". I loved it. Just the look on Kankuros face XD. Oooh *Shudder* And the way the bat woman got caught in his puppet and sliced like that...it was like. Ow! And I do agree with Maz in this one. Naruto was actually a whole lot cooler. He asked for Temujins help, and seemed somewhat more mature overall. I kinda found it sad somewhat that he used Rasengan again to defeat a 'boss'. I think its becoming somewhat like Gokus Kamehameha. Never mind. Wow. I need to paragraph XD.
Yes, Kyuubis one looked different and kinda cool. But meh. Its getting abused. Find something else cooler to wow the audience. And as I said at the time though. Nearing the end of the movie, when Temujin was sacrificing himself for the black hole, I would have thought it would be cool for him to actually die there. I dunno...call me morbid or something...but I think it would have had more effect had he actually sacrificed his life. After all, he said he wanted to atone. Shikamaru over all was likeable in this movie. As usual XD.
Interesting reading your guys rankings. Cos I was sitting here thinking...hmm...I'd go 6/10. Which of course is the same as 3/5, Kiels rating, and quite close to Maz's too. So its not a fantastic movie, but its likeable still.

Yeah, how come Naruto doesn't summon Gamabunta anymore? That was his signature move beforehand. Now it's just...
Taijuu Kage Bunshin
Rasengan
Repeat.
Guy needs to learn some new moves...

Yeah. I agree with that. In saying that though. Gamabunta doesn't listen to Naruto ever anyways, so it would just complicate things. So really...summoning him wouldn't be the option. But I understand where you're coming from, he certainly needs a new combo. I noticed in the movie he used the Uzumaki Naruto combo. That made me giggle a tad.

Lol. I agree with that. I have to say, I'm getting sick of seeing Rasengan all the time. It's about the only thing you can finish the movie off with. It's getting as predictable as... uh... something wet. Perhaps a wet sock. Or a wet paper towel.
It's also been a while since we've seen a summon, so Gamabunta should make a reappearance anyway. XD

Thats true. However with the manga and all...we should see summons very soon...no spoilers though >_> XD. I agree with Kiel more though. He should learn some new moves. I mean...sheesh Sorien knows more moves than him at the Genin level XP.

Naruto's moves all revolve around Kage Bunshin and now Rasengan.
Naruto's not all that bright, so learning non-basic techniques would be beyond him, I suppose.
The new Sakura knows medical jutsu, but aside from that, she's all taijutsu now.

Yeah. If you didn't say it, I would have. We all know Naruto isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, so we have to cut him some slack. It just makes it somewhat dull for us fans. I guess we'll just have to wait for Sasukes moves ^_^
