Old school PSO stuff, man.
Anyway. It's pretty much obligatory that I start this topic in every single gaming thread. Ever. It's just a thing, okay? And if everyone on the board hasn't played it, they get PUNISHED! PUUUNIIIIISHED!
Okay... anywho. Anyone besides me played it? And Kaoridaime. ;D Who is so amazingly AWESOME.

I've played it! But sadly, I've only beaten up to the beginning of disc 2... ^^;

Well, consider me unpunished. Have played this game, start to finish... and I have to say, well. lol
It's okay, I guess. As a Final Fantasy Freak, I have to compare this to FFVII and FFVIII. On a graphics scale, LoD was never able to match up to the kind Squaresoft could produce. Nevertheless, the graphics in this game aren't TOO bad.
However, I DO hate the translations in LoD. I could swear at one point in the game, they call him Rabitz... LOL... they might as well have if they didn't.
Additions were cool though. And the story wasn't too bad (although, relatively easy to guess anyway). Plus, through some MAAAD levelling up, I was able to attain Dragoon Level 5 for most of my characters by the end of the 1st Disc.
All in all, good game though. ^_^

Yeah, graphics weren't good. I haven't played many old PSO games, being a strict Nintendo player 99.9% of the time. Don't hit me for this, but I didn't expect all that much from PSO in the graphics department in the first place ....
Anyway. I enjoyed the story. And I liked the characters. They all had really unique personalities ... except Dart, who was kind of a stick in the mud.
I've played through the game twice, perfect all the additions for every character, and gotten all my characters to D-Level 5. ;D
Anyway. All in all I thought it was a great game.

I have the game, and love it. Sadly, I have yet to beat it. I'm on the last disc though. ^^ I got D-Level 5 and all the additions for the characters I actually use.... I think that's pretty much everyone except Kongol (lol). I put speed-enhancing accessories on Meru, so now she gets at least 2 or 3 turns for Dart's 1. Lol. Rose also gets alot of time in the spotlight - I tend to go for the "girl power" strategy in RPGs. Can you tell? I never use Miranda though....because I don't like her. She's weaker than Shana was, and STILL no additions. ( )

I usually play with Dart, Meru, and Albert. I'm really fond of Albert... for no particular reason, I guess. Man, I never used Miranda OR Shana. I hated them both. They seriously could have done more for the two of them. Even so, I spent some time leveling Miranda up, just so I could get her to D-Level 5. It took a long time, but not as long as I thought it would. Actually, I think I still have to level up Haschel. Gah! I made a liar out of myself! But, it's been a while since I've played.

I can't really remember WHO I used. I think I stuck to Dart, Rose, Albert and Haschel. Dart because, well, you just have to. ... Rose, because she's darkness, and darkness is cool. Albert could wave his spear like a feather-duster (or a shish-kebab), and had that raw attacking power (I actually got the ultimate addition in the first disc... when you still had Lavitz in your party!... so he was my strongest character through most of the game).... and when he was too slow for me, I swapped in Haschel. Plus Haschel has no elemental weakness.... (so for that matter, no elemental strength) And to be honest, I liked Shana/Miranda. Well, okay, just Shana. But I used them mainly because the White Dragon was so AWESOME! Heavy light damage on all enemies, plus full healing on all of your party. Equipped with that accessory that doubles MP.... they were near on unstoppable. XD

Yeah, that'd be the only reason to play with Miranda/Shana. In my opinion, anyway.

Usually Meru's Diamond Dust (I think it's that one) and massive amounts of guarding are enough to keep my party's Health up. Meru gets so many turns in a single battle - with Rose right behind - that Dart hardly does anything at all. Lol.

Yeah. That's one of the reasons I use Meru. Diamond Dust is a useful healing spell, considering the fact that it restores HP and gets rid of any status effects (except death, obviously). As long as you have an MP restorative item on her and decent defense equipment, she's a valuable asset.
After a while, she also starts doing a good deal of damage, too.
Meru's totally my favorite, with Albert coming in a close second. ^_^

If you didn't have to have Dart in all the time, this would be my ideal party:
Albert (taking Dart's place Rose Meru
XD The enemy would hardly get any turns in at all.

I'd probably go with Haschel, Rose and Meru (well. I might have Dart replacing Meru... 'coz Dart is cool, and the main character in the story... my mind tells me Meru... but my heart, says Dart! LOL)... mainly 'coz Albert's slower than Haschel, especially if you give Meru and Haschel the right gear.
But Dart is just so cool. He's the main character, after all. So why not? XD
I unfortunately tend to go for the... the first few characters you get in your party, stay your party. Happened to me while playing Final Fantasy VII. The first few characters you get... you sorta stick to them. You become attached, and then when you find yourself in a situation where you need your strongest three to fight, the first three characters you got tend to be the Chosen Ones to pull you out of danger. (hence why I stuck to Dart, Rose and Albert. My mind would choose others.. but my heart... my HEART!.... lol)
Oh, if only it'd happened sooner... *winks at those who've finished the game. Think final battle. S'all I have to say. XD*

I usually know a lot about video games before I play them, so I sort of tend to hold out for the characters I know I'm going to get. Like, in Baten Kaitos I ditched Xehla the INSTANT I got Gibari and Mizuti.
I need to play that game again.

I love LoD. My party is usually Dart (of course) Meru, and Albert. But man..is Albert ever SLOW! Meru usually gets 5 attacks in before he can get one. I've beaten that game a few times using different teams but this one is my favorite. A lot of people like Rose, Dart, and Albert but I just couldn't get used to Rose for some reason.

hmmmm... I'm currently working on LoD, so I'll post more as I get further. So far I'm really liking this game though!
