Okay,
Before I got into Naruto, this series pretty much domineared my life.
Eva is what got me into anime, and its what keeps me rooted into anime as well.
It changed my outlook on life and piqued my interest in psychology and religion.
Simply put, It's really good.

I haven't seen all of it... but I did see part of the end. It scared me a little bit, not to mention I was totally LOST.
That's some twisted crap right there.
Asuka was one of my favorite anime characters for a long time. I used her as my avatar on a really old mb. Her and Misao from Rorouni Kenshin.
;D I used to look a lot like Asuka.

I find Asuka to be a good character, but I never could get very attached to her.
Maybe because she was so mean during the series. I can understand why, but she just didn't really seem likable to me until later.
I'm more of a Rei man anyway.
It seems to have replaced the "are you a Wilma or a Betty man".
Now it's "Are you an Asuka or a Rei man".

Eva is good. The problem? I watched every single episode back-to-back only breaking to eat and sleep, and in the dub. Plus, I didn't really know symbolism when I saw it. So I didn't understand anything that was going on. ^^;;;

Evangelion was good....well, what I've seen of it anyway...the religious symbolism got to be alittle much for me...But it was good, none-the-less.
Asuka is my favorite character...Seeing as I can totally pull her off with the red hair and such...and not to mention that I can act like a complete and total...erm....I won't use that word...

If I'd seen more episodes... and not all dubbed... and IN ORDER.. yeah. I might be able to give a more educated opinion....

I've seen the entire series back to back plus the movies more times than I care to admit.
In terms of anime, Eva is my obsession.

I used to like Evangelion alot. I owned the box set and the movies. My ex-boyfriend was the one who introduced it to me though so after we broke up I couldn't watch it without thinking about his evilness. It made me angry. I ended up selling them on Ebay. lol. Actually I gave away all the anime he gave to me. And I sold the jewelry he gave me to my aunt. Wahhahahaa. Ahem. Yeah. Evangelion is really good. A bit depressing though. And it gets stranger as the anime progresses. Rei is my favorite character. Penpen too.

I'm sorry to hear about your bad Eva experience. Things like that can happen tho.
I can no longer listen to "worried man blues". I played it for my girlfriend at the peak of our relationship, right before she ripped my heart out.
*sigh*
Oh well...life goes on.
If anyone would ever like to read any of my forum-like Eva madness, head over to Evamonkey.com and look under posts/threads by me in the archives.
Wish I could still go back there.

Eva was awesome, if involving a little more thought than your usual cartoon. I watched most of the episodes back to back (the guy who I borrowed it off didn't have a couple of the episodes, so I was like... blast! XD!)... and it was actually kinda cool: when I watched Eva, Dad sat and watched some of it with me, and he actually found it really engaging; it didn't feel like a cartoon... it had a whole lot of stuff in there that was far beyond most real-life shows on TV. It was cool. XD

It's awesome when anime can do that. EVA was definitely one of those intense series'.

Yeah. It was just a major pity, 'coz he left before I got to the last couple of episodes, so he didn't get to see the end... and then I had to give them back. Bummer.

I love Eva.
But to be honest...I love poking fun at it even more.
Out of all the animes I love, Eva is the best to make fun of.
Like how Evangelion fits perfectly with Kill Bill.
It'd be called "Kill Gendou"!
Okayokayoakyokayoyaky okay
here's the cast:
Ayanami Rei * The Bride
Gendou * Bill
Ritsuko * Elle Driver
Asuka * O-ren Ishii
Hikari * GoGo Yubara
Misato * Copper Head (I can't remember the character's name)
Kaji * Budd (guess we know who killed him now)
Kaworu * Hatori Hanzo
Shinji * ...
I guess I can't really think of anything for ol' shinji...oh well
