Excellent. That's exactly what I was hoping for. A job well done, to your whole team. The Hokage said, a slight smile showing on her lips. You may want to check on Aijou-kun and Kohana-kun. They're all right, but they were caught up in the very heart of the attacks.
Miyuki's heart skipped a beat, and she frowned at the thought of her two favorite cousins being put in the line of danger. Of course, she knew that both Aijou and Kohana were completely capable of handling themselves, but it was just the idea of them possibly getting severly injured...or worse, killed. She quickly shook off the feeling and smiled back at Kaori. "Thank you very much, Hokage-sama. I think I will go find my cousins. I haven't seen them in so long," she began, a happy smile spreading across her face as she turned to leave the wagon. "I'll see you again very soon." And with that, she stepped out into the sunlight and hurried to find her beloved cousins.
Gazing around the caravan, she tried to spot them. Where are they? she thought, panning her eyes across the area. She smiled when she came across Aijou. Chuckling, she watched as he struggled to catch a boy who was prancing around, whipping his shirt around in the air. Shaking her head, she walked over to assist her cousin. Grabbing the youngster by the wrist, she demanded his attention. He turned around and stared at her as she crouched down to his level. "Be a good little boy and put your shirt back on for the nice ANBU," she coaxed, focusing her icy gaze on the boy. His bottom lip quivered as he answered with a nod. Miyuki loosened her grip and the small boy quickly pulled the shirt over his head. "Good boy," Miyuki praised, giving him a quick pat on the head. "Now run along now, and stay out of trouble." She stood to face Aijou, who had just lifted his mask to look at her properly.
"Miyuki-chan!" he cheered, his voice hitting a rather high pitch, and he lept forward to pull her into one of his big bear hugs. She gladly accepted the hug and in return, hugged him back. Pulling away, Aijou continued. "It's so good to see you!"
She smiled in response. "It's good to see you, too, Aijou-kun!" Pausing for a moment, she spoke again. "I heard that you and your sister got caught up in quite a battle."
Aijou frowned, touching his forehead gently with his fingertips. It was still kind of sore. "Yeah," he said. "But we're ok. I got kind of beat up, but Kohana stepped up and did quite a remarkable job of fending off one of the missing-nins until I came around... You know, Miyuki, Kohana did something during the battle I think you'll be rather pleased to hear about."
Miyuki smirked. "What? She did it, didn't she?"
Aijou shrugged. "Kind of, yes... It looked very similar to it anyway. At first I thought she was doing it, but the chakra she was emitting wasn't quite right for it. I think with further training she could do it, but she still hasn't attained the ability to control her chakra well enough. She almost pushed herself too far this time."
At this, the white-haired beauty frowned, but atleast Kohana was proving she had to potential to learn such a powerful technique, which made her happy. "Well, we're definitely going to have to work on the whole "chakra control" thing. That will get her into major trouble at some point if we don't do something about it now." She paused. "Speaking of Kohana, where is she?"
Aijou pointed, and Miyuki looked.
"Kohana!" he called, waving his sister over towards him. She looked his way and ran over.
"Miyuki!" the perky genin chirped, skipping a few times before throwing her arms around her cousin and giving her a nice, big hug. "It's so wonderful to see you, Miyuki-chan!"
Miyuki smiled and hugged her back. "It's great to see you, too, Kohana! It's been awhile since I've seen you last. Your brother told me all about the battle the other day and how you did with fighting that missing-nin. I'm very proud of you!"
Kohana smiled. It felt so good to be praised for somethig she had done. "Yeah, well, that's what they get for messing with my brother!" Looking around, she still tried to spot her teammates, but with no luck. Her best bet would be to keep looking around. "I'm sorry, Miyuki, but I need to go find my team. I'll see you later!" and with that, Kohana jogged off to find her teammates.
Miyuki waved as she watched her little cousin run off. Turning her gaze back to Aijou, she spoke up. "Now, how about we discuss Kohana's training... She shows way too much potential for me to ignore this..."
Aijou nodded, a soft smile spreading across his face. "Of course... Do you have any ideas?"
The two of them conversed for the rest of the way to the village, trying to figure out what they were going to do about training Kohana to learn the ultimate technique.

Tensei Shinako adjusted her gleaming forehead protector as she walked alongside the wagons with her team, a bounce in her step and a gleam in her eye. They were finally at the Sand Village! She was burning up in her Chuunin uniform, but she didn't care. She had meticulously cleaned and ironed it earlier, and now not a stitch was out of place. She had to look her best, after all!
Her teammate, Tokoharu Tatsuya, laughed warmly. "Shinako-chaaaan!" he teased. "You'll adjust that thing so much it'll wear out and fall off!"
"Will not!" protested Shinako, sticking her tongue out at him.
"Will too," he replied with a grin. Poking her gently in the forehead, he continued. "It'll fall off and get lost if you're not careful!"
"Will nooooot!" Shinako whined, mock distress appearing quite convicingly in her shining eyes.
"Now, now, Tatsuya," interjected their teammate, Akihara Izumi, with a warm smile of her own. It looked quite striking with her icy blue hair and shocking pink eyes. "Let her have her fun. We're all excited, after all."
"I know, I know," Tatsuya sighed, shoving his hands into his pockets and kicking a rock as if disappointed. "And I was having my fun. You know how I love to tease our Shinako-chan..."
"What?" Shinako gasped. "You're mean, Tatsuyaaa!" Izumi laughed. Those two had been like that since the start - well, ever since Izumi got Tatsuya to stop hitting on her - and in her mind, it would be no surprise at all if something.... more eventually developed between the two of them. Enough was enough, though.
"You know..." Izumi cut in, "We are setting the example for the younger shinobi...."
Izumi blushed, slipping back into the regal manner she took on when the situation called for professionalism. Tatsuya just gave a begrudged "Yeah, yeah...." as he ran a hand through his shining red hair and quit bugging Izumi.
Suddenly a group of youngsters ran past, all clamoring and carrying on like one wouldn't believe. Tatsuya sighed, Izumi rolled her eyes, and Shinako sprang into action. "Oi! OI! You all! Cut that out!" she shouted as she ran after them.
"Shall we?" Asked Izumi.
"Yeah," replied Tatsuya with a nod.
And the two of them set off to aid their teammate.

Cream-colored hair blew elegantly in the wind as Biidoro Sayuri lounged atop the roof of her house in Hidden Sand village. The 20-year-old Jounin had been excited about many things in her life, but this event had to be near the top of the list. The Hokage herself, along with a large envoy of shinobi of all ranks, was coming to Hidden Sand Village! There had not been a visit from the Hokage to their Village in decades, so this was truly history in the making. There had been alot of suffering in Hidden Sand from the war, but the Leaf had been almost destroyed. That they would come to personally thank the Sand for standing by them meant alot to Sayuri. And that was why, with what little vision she had, she would witness History unfold.
Suddenly, the sounding of a loud horn caught her attention. That was the signal! With confidence that belied her lack of vision, Sayuri set out across the rooftops of Hidden Sand. While no one was allowed on the walls of the Village, she could still find a decent vantage point to watch the visitors arrive.
At last she found what she was looking for. A tall building near the entrance to the village offered the perfect vantage point. Other shinobi had obviously thought so as well, as they were beginning to gather on the rooftop. It was going to get crowded up here. Sayuri slipped down to the edge of the roof where she would be sure to have a good view.
Adjusting her forehead protector, she looked off into the distance. It was all a blur. Sighing, she reached into a pocket of her flak jacket and pulled out a brown leather case. She didn't want to have to use these....
Opening the case, she pulled out a pare of square, black-rimmed glasses and put them on. Instantly the world leapt into sharper focus - it wasn't perfect, by any means, but it was better. Now she could see... kind of... what was in the distance: a large moving blur. She knew what it was, though - it was the dust roused up by a smaller dark blur.
The Hokage's caravan.
A cheer rose among the Villagers, and Sayuri was only happy to join in. Welcome to my Village! her heart called to the visiting shinobi as the blur of a caravan drew ever closer.

Masato shook his head to clear away the memories of the first person who ever treated him as anything other than a reject, he began to prepare for the imminent arrival in the village of Sand. Standing up calmly from where he had been relaxing in the wagon, he looked around, realizing everyone had already left the wagon and were forming ranks outside. He said some words that would have caused his academy teachers to wash his mouth out with soap, gathered his three swords, checked that his hitai-ate was in place, and stepped out into the harsh sunlight. Looking around, he tried to spot Sorien among the throngs of people. Not immediately seeing him, he set off along the wagon train, setting some of the irritating little academy students straight along his way, fixing a hitai-ate here, a kunai pouch there, even stopping a brewing fistfight at one point. Apparently one student had bumped into another while she was holding her pack and her supplies had been scattered. Lifting them up by the scruffs of their shirts, he said “Look. Here’s the deal. We’re in another country, we’re on a diplomatic mission, and we need to make a good impression on the Sand. (And whatever spies from other villages are watching this right now, he thought to himself.) So you, watch where you’re going more carefully next time, and you, don’t be so quick to anger with your comrades! Remember, like the song goes “Ore tachi wa family!” … or something.” Satisfied that they had learned their lesson, he helped the girl pick up her supplies and continued on his way. “Man, I wish we hadn’t dragged these little brats along with us… They’re so troublesome sometimes.” He muttered aloud, wandering through the caravan, still looking for Sorien, or another team to tag along with.

Izumi perked up when she heard another Shinobi helping to calm the chaos. Suddenly, the words he used caught her attention.
"Remember, like the song goes 'Ore tachi wa family!' … or something.” Grinning, she called out to the new face and spoke a few words from the song.
"Oiiii, I love that song! We aren't aquaintances, we aren't friends-" It was then that Tatsuya broke in and finished the song with a cheesy smile. "We're FAMILY!" He chuckled, flashing the new face a V-sign.
"Sorry about that," Izumi told the other Shinobi with a shake of her head and a bit of wry laughter. "They tend to get excited sometimes. I hope we weren't bothering you."

Izumi bowed her head in a polite nod, about to reply, when Tatsuya jumped in front of her and shook it instead. "Tokoharu Tatsuya!" He exclaimed, grinning. "A pleasure indeed --- OOF!" he cut off in an exclamation when Izumi elbowed him in the ribs, effectively knocking him aside. "Quit being rude," she told him, her pink eyes flashing, before giving a small smile to Hyuuga-san. "Akihara Izumi," she told him. "Hajimeshimashite."

Tatsuya blinked, then burst into a huge grin. "That's the one!" he exclaimed happily. "She's my aunt! My Dad's younger sis, to be exact. You know her?"

Stopping for a moment, he turned beet red and turned to the other female shinobi. "Oh my goodness! My deepest apologies, Madam. I was just momentarily surprised to meet the Hokage's second's nephew here of all places, though I don't know why I was, the Tokoharu being such an elite clan and all... You must understand, I was kind of shelltered as a child, never really did this social thing much, you know." Laughing in a somewhat self-deprecating manner, he realized he was rambling again. Masato turned a deeper shade of red than his hair and bowed to try and hide his embarassment. "I apologize again, I'm not letting you get a word in edgewise, madam! You are...?"

Tatsuya had to chuckle at Masato-kun's description of his Aunt. He wondered what Akina-shukubo1 would think of that description.
Shinako stuck her tongue out at Tatsuya. "It's about time, you meanie!" she told him. "Not letting me talk to our new friend. Sheeesh!" Flipping her long brown hair over her shoulder, she smiled at Hyuuga-kun. "Hajimeshimashite!" she said, bowing deeply and flipping her hair over her shoulder again as she straightened. "My name is Tensei Shinako."

"Hmmmm...." said Shinkao thoughtfully, looking up and tapping a finger on her chin before speaking again. "As long as ---" here she stopped to reach out and grab the collar a young man who thought it would be funny to run through their group at top speed. Crouching down to his eye level, she looked him dead in the eye. "Listen. Have some respect. We're visiting a village who saved us during the war. If you're a Shinobi, act like it!" the boy nodded and she let go; he scurried off quickly and assumed a more respectful way of behaving. "Anyways," Shinako said as she straightened, "I don't think it matters as long as we're acting properly, if you know what I mean."
"For example," Izumi continued, "Akina-sensei isn't with us. But then again, we're not Genin anymore, and she needs to be with Hokage-sama anyways...."
"Ahhh, they would have told us!" Interjected Tatsuya. "You're welcome to stay with us, Masato-kun, if you like - until you can find your team, at least."

Shinako frowned. "I hope he's okay...." she said, thoughtfully, before offering a comforting smile. "Well, I heard an ANBU say that everyone was accounted for once we got the wagons moving again, so I'm sure you'll catch up to him soon."
Izumi watched silently as her teammate struck up a conversation with Hyuuga-san and Tatsuya set a few young shinobi straight on how to behave - mainly, that throwing Kunai at each other and trying to hit targets on the wagons while approaching a foreign village was not a good idea. Seeing Hyuuga-san taking inventory of what he had reminded her that she needed to do the same. Quickly and nimbly she checked her equipment. Her large Shuriken had been left in the wagon with her bags; they had been advised to not bare steel during entry to the village. Her leg holsters, back pouches, and weapons scrolls were all were they should be. She was ready.
