Kohana perked up. Oh! It's the blind boy! This is definitely going to be an interesting team!
"Oh, it's so nice to meet you, Iro-chan!" Kohana chimed brightly, approaching the boy and giving him a firm pat on the shoulder. "Glad to be on a team with you!"

Kaori grinned. Things were certainly looking promising so far. If only things could continue in this fashion...

Iro walked in the door and tried to study both of the new people. He had never met either of them, and no doubt they were regarding him with little interest. They both seemed quite strong, especially Nadameru-sensei.
"I'm just glad I made it in time" Iro said as he scratched his head.

"No problem, you were right on time!" Kaori paused, looking at the clock on the wall. "I wonder if we can say as much for our third member..."

Iro was quite surprised by the girl who got up and gave him a pat on the shoulder. She seemed quite cheerful. I wonder what they think when they look at me. I wonder what they think about my dissability.
"I'm glad to be on your team as well Kohana-san." Iro said with a smile. She seemd rather nice, maybe this wasn't going to be so bad after all. Now I just hope the third member is as nice as she is, then things will be fine.
(OOC: Sorry bout the out of orderness, but I somehow missed like... three posts... lol)

Nadameru felt a growing sense of relief. So far, so good, as the saying was. The two genin seemed to be getting along already. She only hoped her luck would hold. After all, teamwork was important. It wouldn't be any good if they were constantly bickering.
She sank back into her chair slowly, waiting for the last team member to arrive. Most of her misgivings had disappeared. If the last genin was even remotely as amiable as the other two, everything would be fine.

He was to be assigned to a new team today. Waking up slightly later than usual, Maz dressed up in his short sleeved apparel today – black t-shirt, black pants, his black cape – he wanted to feel comfortable around his new teammates.
He prepared his breakfast – three slices of toast. He quickly wolfed down one – much like his father was able to do, and the other two slices in hand, he was ready to go. He decided to take the long way today: he'd walk. A decision influenced by the sun peeking over the hills.
"Geez Maz, that's much unlike you not to use Kagetokeru." Kagemaru said to his son as he rushed out the door, food in hand.
"Yeah, but one can't eat while in Kagetokeru can they? I'll see ya later, and tell you about it tonight. Ittekimasu!"
Kagemaru nodded.
* * * * * * *
As Maz walked down the path, he gobbled on another slice of toast. He wondered who would be in his new team. Would it be anyone he knew? What other Genin were there in the village? I mean, sure there were lots... but of them all, who were picked to be in his team? Who did Hokage choose to put him with?
He didn't think he was cut out for a team. He was in a team before, a team he didn't mind. A team he liked, even. What was wrong with that team? There was Mazrakiel, and another male, who came to be one of his friends. And a girl.
But then the time came for them to part. That was when...
"...dammit!" He jammed the next slice of toast down his throat, caring little if he would choke or not.
He began to run, not stopping once.
* * * * * * *
The team were to meet in Hokage's Office. Maz was closing on the building, and had in the distance seen a figure walk in. He couldn't tell who it was though, they seemed tall, but apart from that, they closed the foyer door behind them. Amongst the people who were living their lives, Mazrakiel stopped to tidy himself up a bit.
"Right-o. This is it."
With these words, he opened the door into the foyer. He made his way down a few corridors, saying hello to some of the staff he knew from there – some of the staff he'd met from working there. Tokugawa even stopped him in the hallway to have a friendly chat – as far as she knew, he wasn't rostered on for errand duty today.
"Hey Maz, what're you doing here?" "Oh, I'm being assigned to a new team. Meeting in Hokage's office." "Oh, really? That's cool. Hope it goes well." "Yeah, me too." "I hope it doesn't mean we'll be seeing less of you 'round here." "Of course not. I like it here." "Hehe, great. Well, see ya when I see ya." "Hehe, you too, Tokugawa-sama." Nothing could put a dent in this day. It was going so well.
He climbed the stairs and made his way around a few more halls, which he was now familiar with. The door to the office was still slightly open, and he could hear the sounds of people talking loudly from inside the office. He knocked gently, which slowly pushed the door open.
"Hello, I'm he--"
As the door opened and his eyes swept the room, his jaw slightly dropped as he slowly took in the setting. Standing there all crowded together were a group of people he recognised.
The first person he saw was the tall boy he'd seen at Ichiraku the day before – the blind one.
A second figure, who he didn't recognise instantly... but he'd seen her with that ANBU - the one who tried to scare him - before. Hmm.
Sitting in her chair was Kaori. Hokage, and leader of Konoha Village. His employer from time to time. She was the one who called this meeting.
In another chair next to them all was another girl: who he instantly recognised as Homura Nadameru. He remembered, 'coz she was Jounin now...
...wait a second...
...he was being assigned a new team of two Genin...
...he was... to have a new Jounin sensei...
...
...oh bugger, he thought to himself.
"--you've got to be kidding me."

Kaori shot him a warning look, but knew it most likely didn't even register. She had been afraid of this. Oh, please, don't let this thing blow up.... she thought anxiously. She smiled, hiding what she felt except for the warning look that shone from her eyes. "Everyone, this is Adarakis no Mazrakiel, the third and final member of Team #1. Mazrakiel, this is Homura Nadameru-sensei, Kokoro Iro, and Yanagawa Kohana. I trust you will all get along just fine."
.....or else.

Nadameru wasn't sure what to make of Maz's reaction, and for a moment remained completely motionless in her chair. A few seconds passed, an ackward atmosphere clouding the room after Kaori's statement. She got to her feet slowly.
"Good morning, Adarakis no Mazrakiel," she said slowly, paying careful attention to the tone of her voice. Despite her uncertainties, she managed a friendly, confident smile. "I'm glad you could make it."

Kohana looked at the boy that had just entered into the office. Finally, the last teammate showed up! Well, he certainly kept us waiting long enough!
She stifled a giggle when she saw the look of pure shock on his face.
"Everyone, this is Adarakis no Mazrakiel, the third and final member of Team #1. Mazrakiel, this is Homura Nadameru-sensei, Kokoro Iro, and Yanagawa Kohana. I trust you will all get along just fine," the Hokage said pleasantly.
Kohana scooted over to him and smiled brightly at him, giving him a nice welcoming slap on the back. "Nice to meet you, Mazrakiel!" she said cheerfully. "Glad to be on your team!"

As Iro heard the door swing open, he turned around, eager to find out who the final member of his team was. If it was anyone like Kohana-san...
"Everyone, this is Adarakis no Mazrakiel, the third and final member of Team #1." Hokage-sama announced as he stepped into the room.
Why him? Iro thought to himself, out of all the Genin in the village, why did he have to get paired up with this cocky show-off?!
"Mazrakiel, this is Homura Nadameru-sensei, Kokoro Iro, and Yanagawa Kohana. I trust you will all get along just fine." Hokage-sama finished.
THe smile dissapeared from Iro's face as the truth set in, he knew exactly what Maz was thinking... "why do I have to be teamed up with hat blind kid?"
Kohana shuffled over to Maz and gave him the same reassuring pat on the back, and the same "Nice to meet you, Mazrakiel! Glad to be on your team!"
Well, this certainly makes things more difficult...
With some effort, Iro bowed slightly to his final teammate, "I'm honored to be on your team Mazrakiel-san"

Mazrakiel's eyes swept over them several times, as he heard Kaori address them.
"Everyone, this is Adarakis no Mazrakiel, the third and final member of Team #1. Mazrakiel, this is Homura Nadameru-sensei, Kokoro Iro, and Yanagawa Kohana. I trust you will all get along just fine."
Nadameru stood up, and said to him "Good morning, Adarakis no Mazrakiel. I'm glad you could make it."
...he thought to himself...
...you're not kidding.
You mean, she's going to be my sensei.
But she's younger than me!...
...and, the Genin... the blind boy... and, the friend of the ANBU...
...but they!...
He was so shocked. He didn't really know how to react, but courtesy made him bow back to Nadameru. He had to acknowledge her now as his superior. Great.
Suddenly, Kohana was standing next to him, patting him on the back. Though it was friendly, the physical contact was unnecessary. Unwanted.
"Nice to meet you, Mazrakiel! Glad to be on your team!"
He wasn't sure if he could say the same thing. Not with a straight face. He nervously made out "...uhh... thanks..."
...great. What a wonderful day. Now the ANBU has an excuse to...
"I'm honoured to be on your team, Mazrakiel-san."
Iro spoke to him. The blind boy.
"...you too." He spoke out of courtesy once more.
Maz was greatly uncomfortable now, though he tried not to show it. He nervously said hello to Hokage - a hello which showed that though he didn't like the situation, he'd put up with it - and sat in his seat.
So much for looking forward to this day.

Nada felt dismay settle itself into the pit of her stomach. Things had been going so well, too. She was quite aware of the contempt Mazrakiel was directing towards her, rather, her authority, and she didn't appreciate it. She should not have to prove herself worthy of her title just because of her age.
It took a great amount of self control not to sigh heavily. Patting Iro on the shoulder encouragingly, she moved aside so the other two genin could have a seat. For now, she chose to remain standing.
She shot a worried look at Kaori, feeling completely helpless.

"...uhh... thanks..." Maz responded coursely to Kohana.
That was completely unessecary, I expected him to be harsh towards me, but not her. Especially after how nice she was to him.
"...you too" he responded to Iro's greeting.
Why that little! He's just lucky Hokage-sama and Nadameru-sensei were there, or he'd have to teach him to show more respect to his teammates, especially when they're so nice.
Nadameru-sensei gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder, and Iro began to ease up. He took one on the seats in front of Hokage-sama.
I don't see how this can end good. And today was suposed to be great too.

Kaori smiled, a smile that still didn't quite reach her eyes. "Well, now that we're all here, we can begin," she said cheerfully. "As you know, you four will now be working together as a team." She put just a slight emphasis on the word "team." "You three especially will be spending alot of time together, so I want you to work hard and get along, all right?" When she had some form of response from at least someone, Kaori continued.
"Right, then. You won't have a mission today," she had planned this to allow the team members to adjust to each other; if anyone would need it these four would, "but you aren't dismissed. Isn't that right, Nada?" She shot her former student a meaningful look. It's all right, it said. You can do this. I know you'll do just fine.
