Okay. I'm going through a pop phase at the moment. I'm talking, Christina Aguilera (her early stuff), B*Witched, Backstreet Boys... and the Spice Girls. Jumping Crocodiles, Charlie! How'd THAT happen? Six words. Dead Or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball. It has the coolest music ever... and because of it, I'm hitting the pop/reggae phase. I've found all my sister's old CDs, and listen to them. You should've seen the conversation... Maz: Sis, I'm raiding your CDs. Sis: What? Why? Maz: Because I want to listen to them. Sis: Why? Maz: Because they're cool. Sis: Well, alright... which CDs? Maz: Spice Girls. Sis: ...WHAT?!?! lol So let's move from rap... What do we think of the days of the teen pop genre? C'mon. Don't be shy. I know you listen to Christina... I DO. WAHOO! lol (PS. If you think rap is bad to listen to when your folks are around... just wait 'til you play DOA: XBV in front of them. A common misconception is that DOA: XBV is for pervs. It SO is not. It's a cool game!... it is, really!... but by saying that one would instantly think "Teehee!" Not that I'm against pervs or anything, but I'm not one. Ain't nothin' wrong with livin' it, just ain't livin' it. )

I must really be a nerd or something. The only things I can stand listening to is usually instrumental soundtracks and celtic or international stuff...

*casts Full-Life on this thread*
Instrumental stuff is good. That depends on your definition of instrumental stuff, of course. If by instrumental you mean classical... classical's cool. I like classical music. XD
I have to say some of my favourite songs are instrumental (if not entirely, then for the most part). Songs don't need words to be cool. Like, most of the jazz stuff my sister listens to is great. And marching band stuff is cool too. Definitely. XD Also when bands go and play instrumental stuff is good... like Metallica - The Call of Ktulu, or Orion... or Tool - Triad... (which funnily enough is stuff I like). And I occasionally listen to the Final Fantasy soundtracks, if I'm in the mood.
What I hate when it comes to music is, dare I say, closed-minded people. I know a few people who are like "It's not a song unless someone sings it". I find THAT annoying. Just because a song doesn't have a vocalist doesn't mean it's not a song. Like I said, some of the best songs are instrumental pieces.

Wow...I'm almost afraid to post here. ^^' Hope I don't get too critisized. You asked what my favorite band is and I'll tell you. Simple Plan. There, now I'll go hide away while the world thinks I am the biggest poser of all time. *sigh* I do like other things thought, I actually, I'm willing to listen to anything so long as it isn't rap. It's pretty much the only thing I can't adjust myself to. Lol, I like classic rock but to an extent. If it'f over 6 minutes long, please, just leave me alone. I don't know why, but guitar solos get to me after awhile. Although, I'm always up for the Eagles or Queen. I do like the whole 'music without words' but only certain types. I guess you can say I just never 'got' jazz so that's not really my thing. I'm more so loving music like Carmina Burana, or the 'music of people dieing and blood' as my friend who gave it to me likes to call it. I just violin solos, french horn, or piano. Ok, that's it for me I guess. Boy, I still feel frightened for openly admiting to liking Simple Plan...>.<

Lol. Don't bother going to hide. It's all good. You're still cool. XDXP
Queen are okay. And I can handle the Eagles, perhaps even liking them. *hums the guitar bit from 'Life In The Fast Lane'* Lol.

Well thank you for not biting my head off I mostly just like the Eagles for Hotel California, although they do have a few others, and Queen is mostly fun for Bohemian Rhapsody, although I guess one just has to be in the mood for that song, lol.

Hotel California's cool. Usually when I go up town and head through the bus station, there's this guy busking, and he plays that song usually. It doesn't sound like it though... sounds like a few chords strung together, with the lyrics of Hotel California. Lol.
Don't think I can stand Take It To The Limit though... XD
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody isn't bad. My sister had to play it on the piano for a school concert once (accompanied by a band of course, but she had to do the piano part). It sounded good. Hilarious to hear them go "Galileo, Galileo!". Lol.

Yeah...I'm inclined to agree with Mazz...well actually...not agreeing...^_^ Saying I've got the same taste...sorta in music. I listen to instrumental, like Mazz said, music doesn't have to have words. Sometimes I find that it can create a bigger mood without words...just listen to some of Joe Satrianis stuff...or Nobuo Uematsu (creator of Final Fantasy music). Its cool. Not saying that I don't like music with words. Apart from the above...I like Linkin park (pre Jay-Z)...and Metallica...but I've never been a huge music person...

I'm apalled I haven't posted here before. Music is such a huge part of my life, I should really shoot myself in the head as punishment for not posting here. As that would serve to defeat the purpose, I'll try to refrain.
What do I listen to? The answer would be "a lot." XD If music is fairly well written, I like it. I'm not a big fan of rap/hip-hop... mainly because it doesn't appeal to me, I suppose. I listen to music for its composition as a whole, as in lyrics included. If the lyrics aren't well thought out, I tend to not be impressed (of course, there are exceptions to this rule). I also severely dislike country and bluegrass, for the most part. I don't like to make universal statements. ^^;
The bands and/or musicians I like include but are not limited to (oh boy, here we go): Matchbox 20, A.F.I., Tool, the Goo Goo Dolls, Samhain, Bauhaus, Steriogram, Smile Empty Soul, Our Lady Peace, Hawthorne Heights, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Blindspott, Michelle Branch, Josh Groban, Staci Orrico, Myco, Orange Range, Rufus Wainwright, the All-American Rejects, Thursday, Alice Cooper, Brand New, They Might Be Giants, Counting Crows, Crossfade, Linkin Park, Frank Sinatra, Lifehouse, Rush, Sarah McLaughlin, Switchfoot, Three Doors Down, Alison Krauss, Third Eye Blind, Beatles, Bon Jovi, Cranberries, Default, Godsmack, Hoobastank, Jimmy Eat World, Lost Prophets, Offspring, Savage Garden, Semisonic, The Shins, The Verve Pipe, Train, Vast, Vitamin C, Splashdown, Van Halen, Weird Al, Incubus, Dashboard Confessional, Nickelback, Trapt, Styx, Eiffel 65, the Wallflowers, D.C. Talk, Maroon 5, Five for Fighting, Blessed Union of Souls, Breaking Benjamin, Eve 6, Everclear, Evan and Jaron
Bands and/or musicians I find momentary and/or random enjoyment from: Metallica, KoRn, Afro Celt Sound System, Blue Oyster Cult, Cirque du Soliel, Death Cab for Cutie, Def Lepperd, Fuel, Lennon, Loreena McKennitt, Maria Mena, Mungo Jerry, Pat Benetar, The Ataris, Yellowcard, Blink 182, Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys, Enya, Gorillaz, Sugarcult, The Vines, Aerosmith, Ace of Base, Weezer, Alkaline Trio, Bonnie Tyler, Crazytown, Audiovent, Jimmy Buffet, Newfound Glory, Len, Shakira, Spin Doctors, Deep Blue Something, Vanessa Carlton, Vertical Horizon, Bowling for Soup, Deep Purple, House of Pain, Pink, The Used, Barry Manilow, Nirvana, Hanson, Del Amitri, Eagle Eye Cherry
Bands and/or musicians that I've thought of destroying: Relient K, Avril Lavigne, Simple Plan, Green Day, Fat Boy Slim, System of a Down, Slipknot
Blah blah blah. I'd be happy to give more information on any of them, but it'd be far too long of an entry if I did that just ... on a whim. I'd give a top 3, but it's not possible, so I won't try. I do really like Matchbox 20 and A.F.I. a lot, though. I can relate to their music.
No more listing musicians.. *twitch... hides in corner*
