Kaori turned, halfway down the hall that would lead to the stairs to the main floor of the building. A familiar voice had called to her, and its owner was now running to meet her. "Of course," she said in reply to his question. "If this mission were classified, I would have said so. You'll recieve a message soon with regards as what you're to do. Until then, make good use of your time. Do you have any more questions?" Aaaah, There's not enough time! I have to get back to my office, and fast!* * * * * Meanwhile, Tokoharu Akina was struggling to keep calm. The two Sand ninja sat completely motionless in chairs at the Hokage's desk, not giving off any trace of the urgency and anxiety they had arrived with. Akina paced up and down the length of the office, wondering what on earth could be taking Kaori-sama so long. She should have been back by now! She glanced at them again. When she thought she saw one's eye twitch, she decided it had been long enough. "Gentlemen," she said in her brisk, professional tone, "if you'll excuse me, I need to step out for a moment. I promise, you won't have to wait much longer." With that she set off down the hallways, meaning to barge right in on this secret meeting if she had to.

"No, Hokage-sama. That's all. I shall make the necessary preparations." He bowed politely, and let her leave before making his way back to the meeting room, and his teammates.
"Well, I suppose I'm gonna head home... prepare myself for tomorrow. Sorry... I'll catch up with you guys then, eh?"

"No, Hokage-sama. That's all. I shall make the necessary preparations." Practically the instant Mazrakiel turned to leave, the familiar sound of high heels came clicking down the hallway. And to Kaori's ears, they sounded more urgent than they had in some time. She ducked down the hallway - without looking like she was doing just that - and rounded a corner to meet her assistant.
"Kaori-sama," She said completely calmly, "I need to speak with you in your office. Now." Kaori nodded. The young woman's words and outward manner may not have betrayed any inner turmoil, but Kaori knew her former apprentice. The woman was about to boil over. "Of course," she said just as calmly. "Let's go."

Nadameru had been silent for the majority of the meeting, though a fleeting smile had crossed her face at seeing her team enter. The lack of hostility was encouraging, but the thought was a passing one as there were more important things at hand. She had listened wordlessly as Hokage explained the mission.
It seems she had some preparing to do.
She moved away from the wall she had been leaning against and caught sight of Maz making an exit. Kohana and Iro remained, however, talking amongst themselves. Best to greet them before heading off.
"Kohana, Iro!" she called, approaching them. "Good morning," she said with a smile.

Maz replied quite undecidedly before heading out into the hallway to question Hokage-sama. Iro, also wondering that question, increased the flow of chakra to his eardrums, hoping to hear the answer. It wasn't long before he got it, and was quite happy with it. Maz burst back into the room, "Well, I suppose I'm gonna head home... prepare myself for tomorrow. Sorry... I'll catch up with you guys then, eh?"
Before he could say a word, Maz was already back out of the room. Iro scratched his head.
It was then that he heard a familiar, kind voice from across the room. "Kohana, Iro, Good morning" Nada-sensei said approaching the pair. Iro was glad to see that their sensei was also going to be part of this mission. It eased some of Iro's worries.
"Good morning Nadameru-sensei. I'm glad to know that you're going to joining us on this mission."
Iro turned to Kohana, "Well, I really should get home as well, I have lots to do before tomorrow... so Ichiraku for lunch... I guess I'll see you there..."
With that, Iro strode out the door on his way home, he really did have quite a bit to get done before he left.

With that, Iro headed out of the small meeting room, and exited the building. As he stepped outside, he realize how early it really was. Most of the village was still soundly asleep in their beds, all but those with early or night-time jobs.
The sun was just begining gto creep up over the horizon, and even nature was just begining to awaken as the first birds of the day were just starting to rise.
As Iro entered his house, he saw both of his parents eagerly awaiting his return as they both prepared for work.
"So Iro, what was that all about?" his mother said somewhat worriedly.
"Nothing really mom" Iro lied.
"Now Iro, you know you shouldn't try and lie to us. You're terrible at it." his father said smugly to Iro.
"Well, it's just a mission from Hokage-sama. I can't really say what, but you don't need to worry about it. It's an honor really, to picked specially by Hokage-sama."
"Yes, I suppose it is. Just promise me it's nothing dangerous. I couldn't imagine what I'd do if something happened to you son" his mother said, somewhat shakily.
"Don't worry mom, it's nothing dangerous; besides, you seem to forget I can more than handle myself" Iro said beaming, "I am a certified Shinobi of Konoha remember."
"Yah, yah, Mr. Ninja. Just don't let it get to your head, I don't see how you can walk around with it as it is" his father replied, followed by ruffling Iro's hair.
"I don't see how you can walk around as it is" Iro mocked. "Get going or else you'll be late."
"Yah, yah. You worry about yourself. We've been taking care of ourselves for a lot longer than you've been alive, so don't get smart with us.
"Iro, hun, theres some food in the kitchen for you. Have a good day."
With that, his parents walked out the door on the way to their jobs. He still had quite a bit to do before he went to meet up for lunch.
He went up to his bedroom and lifted his matress up, revealing the array of shinobi gear hidden underneath it; it was always good to have the necessary gear nearby. He carefully inspected everything to make sure it was all it top shape for the upcoming mission. He began to pack everything into his pack.
~ Shurikens - check. ~ Kunai - check. ~ radio - check. ~ Survival kit - check. ~ Food - check. ~ Water - check.
... he continued down the mental list until he had everything packed up.
I wonder what everyone else is doing right now...
((Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to finally do my part to help revive the IF ^-^))

"Well, gentlemen, I trust you have no further questions?"
Kaori held her composure on the outside, but beneath the placid composure, she was nothing but turbulence. The emmisaries from the Sand assured her they had no more to tell her and bowed before leaving the room, escorted by Akina to their quarters. They would accompany the party back to Sand tomorrow.
As soon as the door shut, Kaori slammed her fist on the desk in frustration. Time! I need more time! She sighed. It's all happening so fast, I can't keep up. She re-read the scroll that had been delivered to her for what must have been the fifth time, still unsure what Kiyoshi was trying to say. He had encrypted the message so heavily that even she - who had known and worked with him for so many years - could hardly make it out. "Come now" was all she could make of it. Well, that's what they planned to do.
The notice had been sent to Tokugawa-san, so everyone participating in the mission would recieve a copy soon. The only thing she could do now was wait until one, when she would announce the trip to the village. Until then, it was business as usual in Konoha - on the surface, at least.
She sighed, looking up at the ceiling in a much-needed momentarily escape from the everyday chaos that was her life.
"Wait for me, Kiyoshi," she whispered softly.
Then, slowly, she turned her face to the present and opened her folder, returning to the seemingly neverending supply of papers and the like. Business as usual...

Watching Iro walk off, Nada turned to her remaining teammate. "Sorry, Kohana, but I had better be off as well and get preparations under way. I'm sure you have a lot to do as well." Smiling apologetically, she made her way to the door, waving over her shoulder. "Ja ne!"
The jounin made her way home, running through a mental checklist of things she would need to take. She was fairly certain she could have it all in order rather quickly. It wasn't that she was obsessive compulsive or anything, but she was... extremely organized. Funny, considering she was the child of--
Her thoughts were interrupted by a loud crashing from inside her house. Instinctively arming herself with a kunai, she burst through the front door and ran down the hall, forgetting to remove her shoes. Opening the door to her father's study, she coughed as she choked on the dust that was swirling throughout the room.
"'Tousan, are you--!?"
Nada did a double take. Her father was on the floor, buried in a mountain of books. She furrowed her brows, lowering the kunai in disbelief.
"Oh, Na-chan! I was just--" Taro's sentence was interrupted by a fit of coughing, "--doing some organizing!"
Nadameru shook her head and put her weapon away. Not surprisingly, she found herself at a loss for words. Instead, she offered Taro her hand and pulled her father from the pile of books.
Taro patted his clothes, dust flying. His eyes strayed to the mountain of a mess he had made with the books. "I'll just uh, clean that up later, I think."
"Good idea," Nada said, but was wondering how much 'later' her father would choose to clean it up. She would probably return from her mission and find the mess in the study untouched with Taro just rifling through the pile to find what he needed. He was so--
Oh, the mission, she reminded her self abruptly. Taro was making his escape from the room, so she pursued him. "Actually, 'tousan, I came to get some things together. Hokage's issued an S-Rank mission... we're going to the Sand village to--" at this point, she shrugged, "--engage in diplomatic niceties, I suppose. I'm taking my genin team."
"On an S-Rank mission?" Taro asked absently, now searching through the kitchen cupboards for a snack.
"It won't just be us," Nada informed him calmly. "There were quite a few shinobi at the meeting, from what I could see."
"Ne, Na-chan...?"
"What?" She blinked.
Taro pointed to the cupboards, looking despondent. "There's nothing to eat in this house!"
Momentarily silence.
"...I'm going to pack, now."

A few hours later, Kaori had authorized the distribution of messages telling the participants of this mission what they needed to know. They were to bring everything they would expect to need for a mission, as well as a few other things: Kaori couldn't help but wonder what they would think when they read that formal attire was a must. All she could hope was that everyone would do a good job with their undercover travel; the younger Shinobi had a tencency of trying to show off, it seemed. At least there would be Jounin and ANBU in the group. She looked out of her own window over the village, wondering how everyone was doing. She herself had chosen to eat lunch in her apartment, so she could pack at the same time. That wasn't a good idea, as she had already nearly spilled food all over her clothes at least three times by now. She smiled slightly as she packed her own formal attire, wondering what he would think when he saw her in it....

After a normal mornings training, Sorien made his way quickly and quietly to the Hokages office. This was his first trip and he was not going to be late. Being already warmed up from a mornings training, he made quick work getting along the streets.
He stood before the office and looked up at the building, taking in its vast importance. "Only a few days ago..." His voice trailed off. "I wonder if that has anything to do with it." He though. "Meh, thats not for me to be thinking about. A mission is at hand".
Sorien did not know where the meeting was to be held, however before he could open his mouth to ask, one of the ladies in the building, they had already shown him the way. He found himself in a large meeting room, filled with a few people already. He was surprised that this many people were up at this hour, given that normally he trained in a time of peace and quiet.
He quickly looked at Kaori-sama, and the deadly serious look upon her face. He bowed his head at her, whether she saw it or not. He sat in silence, looking down for the duration of the waiting time. The room became more full with chatter, although, not happy chatter. It was almost forced and tense. Kaori-sama stood up.
"It begins" Sorien thought to himself. He sat in silence still. Listening to the entirety of what was being said. He took it all in. "My first S rank...it's gonna be interesting...but why if...why is it an S rank if we're going to reaffirm relations...once again... I shouldn't be questioning." Sorien said to himself.
He made his way back to his flat. Its familiar structure welcomed him. He went inside, and contemplated the mission. "Well...I'm just glad I've got everything I need in this bag" He said to himself. Sorien always had his bag near him. It served as a survival kit, and had everything he needed to stay a very long time in the wilderness. Sorien didn't quite know what to do with the rest of his day.
A knock came at the door. He made his way over and greeted the messenger at the door. A scroll was handed to him and he quickly browsed the contents. "WHAT! Formal attire! You've got to be kidding me...whats the ne..." Sorien cut his thoughts off. "Well...we are going as an entourage...it is to be expected, and if I'm to go anywhere as a ninja I should respect these things. Especially on these missions. I guess that gives me something to do with the next few hours.
The next few hours consisted of Sorien getting his uniform out and cleaning, drying and ironing it. It certainly came in handy using fire jutsu to speed up the process.

After left standing alone in the large basement of the Hokage'soffice building, Kohana turned to leave. She thought she better see if Aijou was going to be going on the mission, too! Afterall, he was an ANBU...Why wouldn't he be going?
Kohana exited the building and headed towards her brother's apartment. It was early, and not a lot of people were up and about...including Aijou. It was his first day off since the attack on the village, so he was probably sound asleep. Kohana cackled to herself. This was going to be fun.
She soon arrived at the entrance to her brother's apartment building, a menacing grin spread across her face. And with a quick flash, she disappeared, then reappeared again inside of Aijou's apartment.
She slowly and quietly tip toed into his bedroom and knelt down at the bedside and leaned in really close to his face, then poked him in the forehead. He slowly opened his eyes to see his rediculous little sister grinning at him freakishly. He yelled and scrambled back so far he became wedged between the bed and the wall.
Kohana laughed. "Good morning!" she chimed. "Did you sleep well?"
Aijou squeezed out from behind the bed and glared at her. "I was sleeping well until you woke me up! What are you doin' here?"
"Are you goin' on the mission to Hidden Sand?" Kohana questioned of her older brother as she got up to sit on the edge of the bed.
Aijou nodded as he continued to claw at the bed, trying to pull himself out. "Yeah, I am, Kohana...Why? Did you get called to the meeting this morning?"
"Yep! I just wanted to come by and see if you were going. Seeing as you weren't at the meeting."
"Well, I'm going... And so are Ryuji and Haruki, so you know...Now if you don't mind, I'd like to get some more sleep!" Aijou had finally managed to wiggle out from between the bed and the wall, and was now wrapping up in his sheets again.
"Ok," Kohana said as she got up from the bed. "Have a good sleep...again...I'll see you later, Aijou!"
"Bye, Kohana!" Aijou called as he went back to sleep.
Kohana made her way back to the house after paying her brother a very unwelcome visit. Her parents were both up now. Her father had already gone to work, and her mother was sitting in the living room reading a magazine.
"I'm back!" Kohana shouted as she entered the house. She went into the kitchen and grabbed a bowl of instant ramen from the pantry, and as it sat in the microwave heating up, she went to visit her mother in the den.
"So what's up?" her mother asked.
"Umm...It was a meeting for a mission! The Hokage wants the teams to go and accompany her to Hidden Sand. We leave tomorrow morning."
Her mother seemed quite stunned. "Well, then...I guess we'll have to get you packed! Do you know what you need?"
"Basic things for a mission, of course. But what else...I suppose I'm just going to have to guess!" Kohana finished her statement as she ran to pull her ramen from the microwave. She then pulled out a pair of chopsticks and went to her room with her hot ramen to start getting packed.
She gathered everything onto her bed. Kunai...shurikens...everything she needed was there. Now to get her clothes. "I wish I knew what clothes to bring..." she murmured to herself, shoving another wad of ramen into her mouth.
There was a knock at the front door. Her mother answered it. She could hear her conversing with the visitor momentarily before shutting the door. "Kohana!" she called as she made her way towards her daughter's room. "There's a scroll here for you!" She entered into the room and handed the scroll to Kohana, who quickly opened it.
"Formal wear?!" she exclaimed. "Why formal wear?" She paused for a moment to read the rest of the message. She then continued packing. She packed a few extra outfits and finally, it came to packing her "formal wear." She dug deep into the back of her closet to find a long purple silk dress. "Ha! That'll work!"
Kohana finished packing and then laid out her outfit for the next day. It was growing closer to lunch time. She'd have to leave again in a bit to meet Iro and Maz at Ichiraku for lunch.
OoC - Sorry this was sooooo long!

Masato walked toward the Ninja Administration building, tying his new forehead protector around his head and thinking that some sort of mistake had been made. A summons to a meeting... and from the flow of people heading that way, it seemed to be something of importance.
When he reached the Ninja Administration Building, he hesitantly entered. Walking up to the front desk, he bowed and spoke to the receptionist. "Um... excuse me?" The receptionist looked up at him. "Can I help you young man?" Masato fiddled with the note in his hands. "Actually... I recieved a message telling me to report to a meeting in the basement here... and I was wondering... if it was a mistake? I mean I just got promoted yesterday and..." The receptionist cut him off with a hand gesture. "If you recieved the note, you're supposed to be here. Hokage-sama doesn't make mistakes about things like this." Masato bowed again. "Thank you." He turned and, finding the stairs, proceeded to the basement.
Finding a wall to lean against, he watched as many shinobi entered. Finally, the Hokage started the meeting Masato listened with mounting interest as Kyudaime described the mission... A trip to Suuna village?! An S-rank mission? Something here wasn't quite right, if this was a purely diplomatic mission, but that wasn't really for him to worry about. He wasn't really interested in all the treaties, alliances, or whatever, as long as he had a trustworthy companion at his back in a fight. Let the diplodinks who wrote the treaties worry about anything else. Once the meeting was over, he left unhurriedly to return to his flat to prepare his weapons and gear for the journey ahead.
(sorry, i know it was long)

Nada was in the middle of packing when she received the notice that she was to take formal wear along. She had given the messsenger a mix between a confused and frustrated look before returning to her task. After packing, unpacking, and re-packing a few times, she finally managed to get everything she needed together.
She got to her feet and stretched. This was the first time in a while she had a free afternoon ahead of her. Glancing out the window, she smiled. It was almost lunch time. What a perfect opportunity to head in to town and have a great lunch.
Where to, though? she wondered absently as she headed out of her room. Perhaps it would just be best to decide when she got there. She would have plenty of choices.
She called to her father to tell him she was leaving, although it seemed he had gone out. When she received no response, she stepped out into the sunshine, treading casually down the street.
Ramen sounded nice. Yeah, one last stop at Ichiraku for a while.

Iro had finally managed to stuff the last of his things into his bag when there was a knock at the door. He ran down to the door, and pulled it open. There was a young man standing in the doorway...
"A message for you sir" the man said, handing Iro a scroll.
"Would you mind reading it to me please?"
The messenger slowly opened the scroll, and after a few moments replied, "It says here that Hokage-sama wants you to pack Formal Wear."
Iro stood there, mouth ajar for several moments.
"Will that be all sir?"
"Y... Yes, thats fine, thanks" Iro sputtered. The messenger handed him the note and left. What on earth am I going to do for Formal Wear? Iro pondered. "Oh well, I'll deal with that after lunch." With that, Iro headed off towards Ichiraku.

As the sun rose, early in the morning, so did Kirei. She was very eager to head down to the Hokage's office as well as meet up with her friends.
"I hope I'm not going to be late! Do I have time for breakfast? WHERE'S MY NECKLACE?!?!?" She thought to herself, running around franticly.
Kirei lives by herself in a small house and isn't really the most tidy person around. Thus, it makes it hard for her to find her essentials for her missions.
"Yatta! I did it! Found my keys!" As her gaze made way towards her kitchen table, she spotted the letter she receieved yesterday. "Oh that's right! I need formal wear...." She packed her bags and then yelled inside her house, "GOOD-BYE HOUSE!!", and shut the door behind her.
With that being said, she rushed out of the house to go see the Hokage.
