Ok, just thought this'd be a good idea to make this into a thread. Post any questions one may have about how to make your Naruto costume. Seeing as the one on Cosplay.net is just getting so long i thought this'd be a good idea. ^^

Well, it's such a big part of Naruto cosplay. And NarutoNinjaGirl, when I make the paper part of my fan, I'll be sure to tell you what I use. Right now it's likely to be craft paper/posterboard ( ) covered with unbleached muslin and uber-ironed to make it pleat, but that's just at the moment. My Dad got a new job, and he's allowed to take stuff in to work on! So he can do the curvy edges of my Temari fan pieces now! YAY!!! *hugs my Dad* He's awesome.... and he has uber-1337 woodworking ski11z....

*brandishes tons of makeup with an evil grin* Come heeeere, Kenny.... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Erm. Anyways. The head protector plate can be made the same way we're doing our sand plates, and as for the band, a simple headband made out of cotton knit will do nicely. The makeup.... you'll have to come to the stage makeup place with Tranquility and me; they'll have what you need. They probably sell "gills" too, unless you wanna just paint those on. The cloak won't be a problem; just a black Akatsuki cloak with the clouds attatched using the iron-on adhedsive I used for my Tsunade jacket. I'll help with the sewing, if you want.

sorry, I can't help on the kisame thing..I don't even know who he is yet... But anyway, yeah I do have a question for the forhead protector thing, I meant to have one done by now, but I'm just too nervous about messing up. Too cheap to buy one ^^' But anyway, do you think sheet metal would work? Cause that's the only thing I have, heh heh.... Also, I know konoha imports is a good place to buy alot of the weapons and such, but does anybody know of anyplace else that might be cheaper? I know..I'm such a money hog....or better, how to make them yourself? I've never seen that before...might be cool though ^^

Resin casting is probably the best way to make the weapons, but I have no idea how to do it. I've seen resin weapons before though, and they look really good. As for the sheet metal, as long as it's thin enough, I don't see why it wouldn't work. I'm using aluminum flashing, myself, and using a dremel for the engraving - if I can get my hands on one, that is.

whoa, missed alot. here some info on forehead protectors and zori,*the sandals* thanks to ZakuKitty,
Something with a good soft base. You simply get a sock in the color that you need and sew it on top of the shoe. You might need to see a pic of me with one on so you know what I am talking about.
As for the headbands, get some tin, cloth, and brads. Cut out the size of tin that you need to be the metal part of the headband then, yes, you actually take a thin marker of sorts to draw the symbol of your choice. Trust me: It looks great still. You make a headband out of the cloth then punch three holes in each end of the tin. See a pic of a character to see what I mean. This will be where you are to put your brads to make it look like they are nails or what have you in the side.
In the headband you will cut six holes, three on each side where you will fit the brads through the holes of the tin into the cloth to keep it on. Now you can bend it to your forehead.
Use an icepick of sorts to punch holes in the tin.
As for the kunai, resin would be a good idea, resin being like a type of plastic,right?......*Has a resin kit,but all i know that its hard*..but the mold for it would be a toughy, woudn't it?
*Oto-san*

Yeah.... I'm guessing foam or some such like that, but fortunately all you need is one mold to make a whole arsenal of kunai, or shuriken. Whatever you decide to make.

ahhh.. plastor.....maybe e-mailing someone from konoha imports about how to make a mold,or if you're a cosplay.com member you could pm wolfschant an ask him.I don't know what they would say,but it won't hurt to ask, also check they're FAQ before asking. even if you want pm wolfschant, because he is a part of konoha imports.
or do you wanna wait intil janurary when i finally hang with him?-_-...oi.
